Darlith Nadolig y Comisiwn Brenhinol - Hillfort and Community 2023: The Pendinas Project
Cafodd Prosiect Archaeoleg Gymunedol Pendinas, sy’n brosiect cyffrous, ei ddechrau yn ystod gwanwyn 2023 gan Ymddiriedolaeth Archaeolegol Dyfed mewn partneriaeth â’r Comisiwn Brenhinol. Mae’r prosiect yn ceisio deall a gwarchod archaeoleg a bywyd gwyllt y fryngaer yn well.
Mae dwy sesiwn gloddio at ddiben archwilio wedi’u cynnal ar y safle eleni dan arweiniad Ymddiriedolaeth Archaeolegol Dyfed, sydd wedi bod yn gweithio gyda thîm mawr o wirfoddolwyr a rhaglen lawn o weithgarwch ymgysylltu cymunedol dan arweiniad y Comisiwn Brenhinol.
Mae Luke Jenkins, archaeolegydd Ymddiriedolaeth Archaeolegol Dyfed, a Beca Davies, Swyddog Allgymorth Cymunedol y Comisiwn ar gyfer Prosiect Pendinas, wedi bod yn ymwneud yn llawn â’r prosiect ers y dechrau. The Royal Commission’s Christmas Lecture - Hillfort and Community 2023: The Pendinas Project
The exciting Pendinas Community Archaeology Project was begun in Spring 2023 by Dyfed Archaeological Trust in partnership with the Royal Commission. This project seeks to better understand and protect the archaeology and wildlife of the hillfort.
There have been two exploratory excavations of the site this year led by Dyfed Archaeological Trust working with a large team of volunteers and a full programme of community engagement led by the Royal Commission.
Luke Jenkins, DAT archaeologist, and Beca Davies, the Commission’s Community Outreach Officer Pendinas Project, have been fully involved with the project from the beginning and are well-placed and looking forward to giving an overview of the project so far, at this year’s Christmas Lecture.
This project is supported by the local community and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Cadw.
