100% correct. If you don't have native speakers in your area, try finding people on to video chat with. Easy to find friends if you have a hobby like video games. Don't use AI to correct your pronunciation. It's more about muscle control so you need someone to actually look at your mouth to say R and L correctly.

German and English are distant relatives, at least in their structure. Learning a lanuage that doesn't follow any of the grammatical or phonetic rules your're familiar with is so much harder.

English is a Germanic language, so it's relatively easy for a native German speaker to learn English, and vice versa. Japanese and English on the other hand are two of the most different languages from each other, so relatively it's extremely difficult for a native speaker of Japanese to learn English, and vice versa. It's easier for a native Japanese speaker to learn Chinese because of the borrowed writing system and many loanwords, or Korean because of the similar grammatical features.

Jackie Chan only spoke mediocre English before Hollywood, by his own admission, because he learnt English in Australia when he lived here, and found the accent nearly impossible to understand. He COULD, and DID speak it, but even in Hong Kong he never got a lot of practice. His English really improved after his Hollywood career took off. Does a mean Aussie accent though, way better than most US actors.

same thing with frog noises for example xD while english frogs make "ribbit-ribbit" german frogs noises are written as "quack-quack" somewhat like ducks do but with a deeper/lower intonation xD same as with the outcry "OUCH!" when people hit their limbs against hard objects and are suddenly in unexpected self-caused pain xD in french that's "Aie!", in german "aua!" and i bet there are a lot more of these sounds differing from one another from land to land but all mean the same "god damnit that hurts!" ... same with childrens crying, outwritten fart-noises and all sorts of animal voices xD
