You have no ideas how Japanese is bad at English... I am in a top 2 graduate school in US and my Japanese foreign phd student spoke just a little bit better than him. and he starts to learn English at 30....with no advance education before...

We didn't search for this, but we are all glad we found it.

I used to think this then one day a friend of mine collapsed while we were visiting Montreal. Now I'm sure I could've spoken English but I mustered up all the knowledge I had to try and ask how to get some help in French. The Quebecois were more than willing to wait and listen.

I've watched like 10 of these interviews and my favorite part is when theres this awkward pause after Kawasaki finishes what he says and looks so proud of himself. This man is like oddly so adorable idk how to explain it

Kawasaki is still a legend on TV in japan.. he brags that he skipped practice to come join talk shows that he gets invited to. Then he shares inside scoops of Japanese players... Like darvish yu came to japan for wbc to coach on the differences in the ball or laars nootbaar was key to winning cause he taught the team to party hard but play hard.

I love how he totally controls the reporters. They think his English is so low but he’s totally controlling the interview! LOL Genius!

I have a ton of respect for this guy for having the confidence to do all the interviews and stuff in English. People who haven't had to communicate in a different language probably underestimate how nerve racking that must be. My wife is Norwegian, and I've learned a decent amount of Norwegian, but whenever we're with her family and everyone is speaking Norwegian, I get super nervous and usually just end up resorting to English because I get self conscious about my Norwegian. I can't imagine how nerve racking it must be but he doesn't even seem phased

I'm the exact same way with Norwegian and Bokmal is one of the easier languages to learn if you know English. Munenori's situation is so much more difficult!
