the only point that i do disagree with is that the past is your business because all of us have certain boundaries. I might be immature but I never want to be with a cheater because I believe they will cheat again and its a character flaw that some people will always have. idk its probably just my pain but i cant trust cheaters. Also after being in an abusive relationship I never want to be in a relationship with a man who has acted abusively towards women in his past. And so it is my business to know how badly someone I'm dating has hurt others in the past

This isn’t about J&H, just my personal experience. After my first serious boyfriend cheated on me, I cheated on him to get “revenge” 🙄 spoiler alert, didn’t work. My fiancé has also cheated in a previous relationship. My point is, people can change. I’ve changed, never cheated since, & same with my man. Some people live & learn. Some don’t 🤷🏼‍♀️ You can’t judge someone for the rest of their life from a mistake in a past relationship.

I don't agree that men learn how to be a good lover from multiple hook ups with different people. It's long term relationship that allows to know your partner and learn how to please her/him.

Okay so here's the story of [my ex bf's trashy past]: As we started getting serious he confessed to me that he had been a shitty boyfriend to a lot of his exs before me (for example, he ghosted one of them on her 16th birthday leaving her embarrassed in front of her family and hundreds of guests at the venue because they were supposed to perform some kind of dance together). The reason he was telling me this was because he began feeling guilty and felt the need to personally apologize to each girl before moving on as a better person..for himself and for me. Okay cool. So he's super transparent and even let me read the messages he sent them (by the way I was surprised at the amount of girls...it was like 13 exs or something and we were only 19 years old at the time). It was a red flag that he treated so many girls poorly, however I respected the fact that he was acknowledging the issue and taking responsibility for it. So long story short, his attempt at a nice-guy redemption was short lived because he ended up cheating on me anyway :) This was a long time ago, but I still laugh at the fact that he went through this whole song & dance yet didn't actually change at all lmaoo #andyoudidthisforwhat #whatwasthereason

Kinda irrelevant I remember someone said to me that if a person sleep around with alot of person, they learn to disassociate themselves with their feelings. So when they found "the one" they are not able to connect truly with this person due to all the souls they have came into contact with. Maybe this is the case with Justin, or maybe the person who told me that wasn't making any sense 😅

I was working as an escort(+) for 3-4 years mainly during my bachelor's degree time and I can agree up until a point with the person who shared this with you. Every time I went on dates and connected with the person it was like I was giving him/her a piece of my heart /soul. At the end I was emotionally drained although the overall experience brought me over 150k into my bank account and although I only had positive experiences since this profession is legal in my country and I was with an agency. It took me well over 7-8 years to be able to 'get my shit' together and be able to connect with people again. Maybe my personality and heart was never meant for this kind of job I don't know. But I really felt what you wrote in your comment deep. (To whoever reads this and disagrees with my decision to work in this field during my early 20ies: Keep your opinions to yourselves. I'm sharing something here and being vulnerable. No one needs your judgment. Thank you.)

How do you believe that a man who breaks up with his girlfriend and asks for another engagement in a matter of two months is crazy in love with her? everyone knows that he proposed to Selena and she didn't accept it because she wanted him to prove that he changed. She has every right to write her album about that relationship. the one who got in the middle was hailey. When it comes to both, you lose all sense and contradict yourself.

I’ve never related to anything more in my life than Justin saying he wished he saved himself for marriage. I was always told I had to growing up, so when I went to college I slept with tons of people. But now I feel like shit and wish I hadn’t slept with most of the people I’ve slept with. If I was taught growing up that sex isn’t some demonic, sinful thing, I probably wouldn’t have overdone it. I feel used up now, wish I had saved myself for marriage

  • @___Emily__

You said you were raised to believe sex is sinful and wrong outside of marriage, so I wonder if you feel “used up” for similar reasons. I know it’s hard to work through a strict upbringing, but I truly hope those ghosts of inhibition aren’t haunting you yet again. So long as you have love left to give someone else (and, most importantly, to yourself), you will discover you have the infinite capacity for intimacy, peaceful relationships, and sexual fulfillment. I hope you are able to leave the past in the past, and enjoy this next chapter of your life. I wish you well. 💙

I think this is not really about sex or past relationships, but values. Knowing his past, you try to understand his values and believes, and most of all his future behavior. The hardest part is dividing mistakes from attitudes. Hurting someone could be a mistake, everyone did it at least once and can learn from that. But ghosting, cheating, going with prostitutes are bad attitudes and extremely red flags of his future behaviour. Respecting women should be the fist thing we should look for in a man. Always.

I've spent a lot of time in the 'manosphere' reading mens theories on what women want, and one I consistently come across is the idea that women want a man who has had many partners as it shows that he's attractive to other females. I always found that curious. I am totally grossed out by men who have many partners. And I don't care if men are grossed out by a woman with many sexual partners. I don't have to accept someones past. If I'm choosing a partner I won't close my eyes to the red flags.

Your message is that if you are dating someone with a past, you basically have to accept it because you can't change it, and in fact you can benefit from it in the sense that they're likely to be more loyal because they are less curious about "what they're missing" or have picked up some skills along the way. I do think there's something to be said about your partner valuing you and not being curious about others, but I don't think this requires an advanced sexual history. Also, having a "skilled" partner is not necessarily a total benefit... For instance, some people find it intimate to learn those skills together. I think that you are trying to help others see the positive in this situation, but it also lacks the nuance your videos usually have. Sexual intimacy, history, and trust and respect between partners can be very complicated.

I actually disagree with when she keeps saying you're better at sex the more you do it. Because everyone likes something different and every time you get into a new relationship you have to learn what they like. And staying with the chef analogy its like if you have severed the same dish to so many people and they all seemed to like it but then one person doesn't, it doesn't make you a bad chef but to be a "good chef" you have to learn what that other person likes. And it could be completely different from everyone else. So is there really a such thing as "good at sex" ? or just good with the person your'e with at the moment. So personally I like being with guys that don't know as much because they're more open to learning what I want.

I was 23 and still a virgin, but I think it's none of my business what he did before he met me, except if he got an STD haha. Other than that I don't really care. He's wonderful to me. We just celebrated our 3 year anniversary in March. I can't really complain about anything. He got everything he wanted to do out of his system and now doesn't miss anything about his life before me. I'm his first long term serious relationship and he's mine. This quarantine only brought us closer together. Also, we just got the sweetest little puppy 2 weeks ago and we've been obsessed with her ! You always say that, with sex for example, you have to practice...how about bad practice? Quantity is not equal to quality. If a man have an history of bad behaviors, and learned through years how to act badly or not good enough, his past is gonna confirm how bad he is now. Lot of people don't have a clue how bad they're, also lot of them like to be bad because they're resentful or arrogant. Not everyone is using 'practice time' to better themselves...like in music, like in cooking, not everyone want to learn and evolve.

I’m 23 and was a virgin before we started dating, but he’s 25 and has about 10 years of sexual experiences. Our relationship is incredible, but his past is the one thing that bothers me. Of course I like that he is skilled but it makes me question how sexually disciplined he is now. A guy who sleeps around casually with a lot of women says to me that he cares more about the sex than the actual relationship and true intimacy. He’s also French (they are much more open about sex) so our mindsets are just very different about it.

My husband and I waited until marriage and we learned ALL about the many ways to pleasure within the safety and trust and joy of a happy marriage. I do agree however, that not many people (especially men) are that mature so young or have valued marriage and purity. But, I just want to voice my opinion on that. As a point to prove my case, I lost my husband after a terrible car crash and years later married again. The second guy was a reformed bad boy and he kept saying that I was THE BEST sex he EVER had. And although he was great in bed (no doubt from all his practice) he was no better in bed than my first husband. I felt even more safety and love in my first marriage than in the second also because the first one was from a really stable, loving home with very sturdy morals and values they lived by faithfully all around so I think he really absorbed that and brought the HIGHEST quality possible into the relationship. If hubby #2 dies, I'll choose to be alone because the dating scene looks tragic at this point and after being treated right, I'd NEVER be happy settling for the breadcrumbs people are tolerating these days.

This advice reminded me of a beautiful song by Maty Noyes called In my mind where she says; " I know I messed it up with every other guy I swear you're different and this time I'm gonna try We can start fresh if you'd just let go of the past, yeah I don't get it 'cause I don't judge you like that, Can't just love me in pieces, gotta love it all, You try to make me feel like being human's wrong You got a lot to say about me and my past Well I don't get it 'cause I don't judge you like that"

I love you shallon but this video made noooo sense 🤣 "ask about his past and log data points" "who are you to judge him to log data points?" "Leave him if he is not an expert in love making" what?!?! 😂💔

There are two types of men in this world. Men who take sex seriously and give it respect and men who don't. If he has only ever had sex within the confines of a committed monogamous relationship and had no one night stands then that shows he dosen't take intimacy lightly. The latter type of man sees sex as nothing more than a physical release....entertainment or for fun.

He’s a nobody that is trying really hard to look like a somebody, plain and simple. All manner of bad behavior can boil down to that one principle. He’s trying to make you jealous and insecure like him. Who wants a man like that.

Hey Shallon, good advice. But I felt like you were contradicting yourself a bit in this video. You said that somebody's past is a data point and you also said that a man's past shouldn't be any of our business. Personally, I think it is a data point and a VERY relevant one, because people don't really change a lot over a period of a few years. I've learned this from experience, because of a fuck boy I used to know who kept repeating the same patterns and Gosh it was exhausting to keep giving him chances and hoping to see if it would be different this time. But it wasn't. I'm all for giving people chances but some people actually don't change and to be honest, they don't want to. They just want to drag other women along on their self centered journey of not knowing what they want and satisfying their own needs.! So to me, the past is pretty telling of what you could be dealing with.!

I’m ashamed to be a virgin at 27 because that is all that guys want and I’ve had two guys try to coerce me so I’m done dating for good. There aren’t many good men out there

I think the sexual experience thing really depends, you need to be with the same partner and actually care about them to get better at sex because then you can tune in and fully realise what works rather than what someone is pitting up with. If it’s pure hit and quits he’s learning nothing.
