Julien Wanders - 28km Steady Run
European Half Marathon record holder (59:13) Julien Wanders is beginning his journey back to top race shape with his eyes on some big road races this Winter.
This morning's workout is a staple for his group - a long steady run (of which Julien completed 28km) on Moiben Road - a short drive from Iten.

My man just ran 40k like a boss while chatting multiple times and he did it in 2h15min without breaking a sweat. What an amazing athlete and always kept a big smile on. What a group of champions and what a great positive vibes between them.

It's so cool to see videos from Kenya! I can hear Julien already adapted the Kenyan accent when speaking english, the same happened to me when I was living in east Africa (Zanzibar) :D, even though I mostly spoke Kiswahili towards the end.

FML, they are chatting at 5Km mark at 3:18 pace!! Toiler break! It makes me breathless just to watch this. These are the gods of running. My interval training is at the pace... 😀

finally. i have been waiting for juliens video
Wish Julien for the best. Hope that he will be injury free in coming seasons. We know that he has nice potential to be great in upcoming years.

For them is running not only life style, but also "religion". 👌😊
what happened to Julien in the olympics? can anyone share some information on his injury. this video is wonderful what a camaraderie and trueness to this inside view. i would jump at the chance to somehow be involved with helping out here .
4:05: whats that they are applying to the legs? liniment? ointment?

Wanders with the English-Kenyan accent 😁
Effortless!
a friendly voice of criticism - you usually do this, but in this case there was a short instance where you didn't show the name of (amos kimutai) who was being interviewed at the beginning, 1:31 mark. i think it's important to name someone regardless if they're relatively known in the running community or not.

3:58 what there are applying on there legs?
3:58 what is that clay?
I wonder if the "cream" they were applying at the start was 'Pferdebalsam' which is a German natural equivalent of IcyHot. It's quite good.

Wow, Julien Wanders! So good to see. Thank you! At 4' - I'm guessing it's an embrocation, like cyclists use, to keep warm a bit?

why this 3:20 pace looks like an jogging run, and my 3:20 pace fells like sprinting in front of an Smilodon
@stayontrack

because you are weak and don't have the strength to run a lot faster, for these guys 3:20 is very easy and they can run a lot faster for distance so they are not as close to their max as you are

To be able to keep up!!! Kenyans seem to join the group fairly freely, coming and going. The Europeans that join are normally either close friends with Julien or train under the same coach (Renato) but a very friendly approachable group and if you are confident enough to join a session they're normally happy to have you
