Special Block Morning Session: Renato Canova ; Julien Wanders ; Erik Kiptanui ; Amanal Petros

Renato's special blocks are well known for being tough.
44km of volume; all between 2:55/km and 3:05/km, this one sure as hell was.
This video covers the morning session, a 10km in 31min, followed by a 12km at under 3:00/km. Just 5 minutes rest in between.
Today's session is primarily for Erik Kiptanui Training for Boston Marathon
Renato has chosen courses with slight uphill and downhill sections.
This is to prepare for the slightly hillier course at Boston
Erik is running 12km in the second part of this morning's session,
while the rest of the group runs 8km

    I personally think it's one of the huge advantages to running in a group there! You suffer so bad but if you can just stay in the rhythm of the group you can hang on just a little longer.

    J'adore ce genre de vidéo, pas besoin de musique assourdissante ou de commentaire inutile. Je peux visionner au ralenti les différents types de foulée, afin de mieux comprendre la biomécanique du coureur à pied : il n'y a pas de règle absolue. Chaque coureur utilise la technique la mieux adaptée à sa morphologie, il n'y a pas de foulée idéale, et cela me rassure, je ne suis pas trop mauvaise pour mon niveau :)

    Tu peux voir que le dernier coureur a la fin est celui qui est le plus gainé au niveau des abdos et des jambes, rien ne bouge, c’est un vrai élastique super tendu ! Le 2eme bouge beaucoup plus et a du mal à suivre le rythme aussi car il atteint ses limites ! C’est fou cette vitesse

    I have a question for normal runner like most of us that are not training in altitude. What is the pace difference between sea level and 2000m ? Or 3:10 in altitude is like marathon pace or quicker or slower ? Same question with 3:00 and the track session 2:50/km ? Thanks a lot.

    Not related, Kiptanui is not a surname/family name. Male Kalenjin people's names with the prefix "Kip" are middle names (were first names pre-colonization).
