@@RoSen344 I was referring to Blake Edwards, who she was married to for 30 years. For 25 of those years, he suffered from ME/CFS, a disease that can leave one bedridden with weakness, etc.. Edwards himself was wheelchair bound for the last 10+ years of his life. Did she ever ONCE speak out about that or help raise awareness to help other sufferers of the severely disabling and poorly misunderstood condition? NO. Instead, it was Julie-Julie-Julie and the endless stories of how she lost her voice 30+ years ago. SHAMEFUL.

I was 8 years old....And no one complained about the long wait........or uttered a mean word. We were all so excited to see this movie !! We all waited outside in the heat ..with a quarter in our hands.....and could not wait to see this blockbuster of a movie. It was such a thrill !! I always adored Julie Andrews .....wished I could sing like her......( I cannot ) and to this day I still listen the Julie Andrews sing " Feed the Birds" when I need a lift.......may she live to 100......Thank you Dame Julie for all you have given to us !!!!!

Yes, very hard to believe she does not have a Tony: nominated in 1957 for "My Fair Lady." Judy Holliday won for "Bells Are Ringing." Rex Harrison won the best actor Tony that year for MFL and the musical also won the Tony. The Olivier Award, UK's equivalent of the Tony, were not established until 1976, so Julie Andrews did not win that either. Unbelievably, she did not win a single award for MFL even though it is surely one of the all-time best performances in musical theater.

I'm 39 years old and I absolutely love Julie Andrews since I was a child. I don't even like musicals really but for some reason I can't explain I love everything she has done. So charming, so confident. What an amazing woman. Much love from Brazil. ❤

I hope every fan reads her autobiography. She worked full time from such a young age. She is part of that greatest generation as America calls them. Exceedingly hard working men and women who in war times and hard times, no matter the age, one simply did what you had to do in order to survive. Love love love Julie ANDREWS!!

Beautiful woman with a beautiful soul ❤️ Absolutely hardworking. The most beautiful, soothing and healing voice I've ever heard. Her voice heals my sorrow every single time. My favorite movie is Sound of Music. The most beautiful voice I've ever heard. Thank goodness we have enough recording of her stunning voice to keep dreaming and believing.

Born in 1961, I have a faint memory from my early childhood of watching Mary Poppins at the drive-in theater. However, the experience of seeing 'The Sound of Music' during my elementary school years left an indelible mark on me. Its impact continues to resonate with me to this day, and my admiration for Julie Andrews knows no bounds.

Such a beautiful and underrated actress. What she brought to the big screen was amazing. I remember watching Mary Poppins and the sound of music as a kid one of the great actresses hoping she’s never forgotten. We love you Julie Andrews.

Her attitude is something we should all wish to have. When her daughter goes over all the hardship her mother went through, Julie simply responds with; "But I felt needed and vital and valuable too." She put a positive spin on grim description.

I love the way Julie Andrews has reinvented herself as a children's author. This is an insightful story about a legend. I want to read "Waiting In The Wings" seems like a fascinating book.
