    Joseph Anderson is the kind of person who will critique a game, only for you to learn after the fact they played in a completely absurd way that neither devs or most people who played the game would view as remotely normal or sane. Not only does he do this, he also doesn't disclose this until halfway through a video - if he even discloses this at all. This is the guy who "critiques" games, but whos critiques have the very real chance of being relevant to only himself.

    You seem to not understand that this doesn't undercut his points though? If he played in a way that "the devs would not view as normal or sane" then the devs should have made the experience tighter and more restrictive. Don't complain about your players using the tools you gave them "wrong", that's literally the same thing as hbomb saying that if you use shields in dark souls you're playing the game wrong, that is to say, utterly retarded.

    If I have to read another "Joseph isn't bad, he gave a positive review to that one game I like" comment, I'm going to make sweet love to the business end of a Benelli (in Minecraft.) A reviewer isn't "good" because they like the game you like or "bad" because they don't like the game you like. What makes a reviewer good are things like the quality of their analysis (i.e. Is what the reviewer says accurate?), the strength of their argumentation (i.e. Do the reviewer's conclusions flow logically?), the insight they provide (i.e. Does the reviewer provide you with new information about the game?), the clarity of their presentation (i.e. Are the reviewer's points structured? Are they easy to follow? Does the reviewer present information in an interesting way?), etc. Stop judging reviewers on whether or not they agree with you and start focusing on the actual content of their reviews. In case it wasn't clear from my comment, I find people saying "I hate Joseph, he gave a negative review to that one game I like" just as annoying. My point is not that Joseph Anderson is a bad reviewer. My point is that asking "does this reviewer agree with my existing opinions?" to determine whether they're good or bad is extremely dumb.

    Jokes aside, in his Witcher 2 video JA actually said: 1) the bath scene is bad because it's too much of Triss and we can't see Geralt jr. 2) Dethmold being MASSIVE is a crime against human rights. 3) people who intentionally picked Roche's ending have no empathy. The fact that there are YTbers with ~500k subs (not eng speaking) that openly worship JA for his analysis and critical thinking is not just stupid or alogical, it's inhumanely disturbing.

    Sex scenes in The Witcher should honestly show more male nudity. Instead of coming off as a mature part of the game, only showing female tits and ass makes it seem more juvenile. Especially when Geralt gets out of the tub at the very start, if he had been blatantly hanging dong for the viewer to see just like how we got to see Yennefer then that would have set a much more comprehensive tone for the game.

  • @VoltOnYT_

    @VoltOnYT_

    Incredible how brazenly you're willing to misrepresent JA's points just to score points on a hate train. Just for the record, the points he actually *actually* posited were: 1) The bath scene is the best, most genuine sex scene as an expression of love in The Witcher series, but he wonders aloud on the purpose of the clear emphasis on Triss' nudity in the scene. E.g. If you were playing as Ciri in W2 and had a similar sex scene, the emphasis would now most likely be on the playable character's nudity and not the male partner. 2) Dethmold being gay seems entirely incidental and gets no further exploration than a brief scene of him depicted as being vain, but JA makes no major bones about the fact. You're just outright lying about his framing. 3) I can't say, as it's unclear what point of his you're even referring to given how far off the mark this representation is. Joseph literally refers to himself as being "elf racist" in the Witcher universe after reading the books and learning about the atrocities they canonically committed, but still doesn't believe that undue torture and subjugation of the non-human races is the right answer. I can't see what further points in the video you might be referring to.

    @@VoltOnYT_ I am surprised you didn't used MUH SUBJECTIVITY arguments. So JA, a self proclaimed 99.8 hetero, states that it's unfair and immature to hide Geralt's penUs because irl coitus involves both organs, but when the game shows him the castration scene, he FEELS bad and off about it. So my question is: how in the world a brainlet like JA has any experience, authority or credibility to decide whether something is a bad taste or not, immature or not and unfair or not, when he could and would pull his DA FEEL card whenever he wants. Considering that JA is aware of "revenge" pegging from Hoe with Dragon Tattoo, I would really like to warch him arguing that steel dildo was an overkill, so evolutionary dead ends like Lindsay would cancel JA for not respcting the wUmen. As for the hAtE tRAiNe, it's a nice label from you, but this is Vaush's and Hbomberguy's main specialty. I am gloating at most.

While there isn't anything inherently wrong with using those terms in a non-dergotory context, the usage of them in any capacity invokes the immediate feeling of "this is bad, you're in trouble." Like, I can tell myself that using the f slur is fine because I'm bi. And yet when I do use it, the only thing that comes to mind is bracing myself against my mother blasting my fucking eardrums out berating me about how I am in error and must obey her. His Dark Souls 3 videos and especially Elden Ring have some baffling takes about gameplay. It's like he didn't learn how the mechanics and the enemy designs work because his complaints about the bosses are just nonsense. Don't get me started on his Silent Hill 2 stream. Like the dude has good videos, but he also has a lot of downright confusing takes too.

    This shit is always funny to me, but I'm also the sort that could be called a relevant slur to my face, and I'd just kinda laugh. It's clear that there was no ill intent in the uttering of the word, but people who have nothing to say will use that as a shield for the rest of their life, lest they have to perform the daunting task of Having A Discussion.

    I think Mauler has had a baptism of fire when it comes to online discourse. I have to say calling someone a huge bundle of sticks is just tactically naive and, probably needlessly offensive.The thing is, when these people don't like you, they will find anything to smear you with. They are not arguing in good faith but there may be reasonable people who see a clip of you saying it and get put off unnecessarily
