It was actually my mums car, we lived in Radcliffe in Lancashire in about 2002/3. She's an iron maiden fan and eventually went to put the Eddie from Iron Maiden in the background of the flames on the bonnet. My mum didn't like top gear back then but my dad was a big fan and absolutely embarrassed by my mums car so sent it in hahaha. Made my mum smile when she saw this video, she thinks its famous now haha

I like how there's some actual motoring journalism and honest, off the cuff opinions going on in the earlier shows instead of the later overly scripted episodes that are so obviously fake they're painful to watch. This is a standard later episode: *intro music* HAMMOND/MAY: 'Jeremy, whatever you do, don't do the thing' CLARKSON: 'Ok, I won't do the thing' CLARKSON: *to the audience* 'I'm totally doing the thing' *does the thing* *everything goes to shit* HAMMOND/MAY: 'JEREMY WTF, WE TOLD YOU NOT TO DO THE THING.' *gay joke about James May* *outro music* Rinse, repeat, yawn. I agree. But even with how downhill it went, it still worked for me. These guys have such a great chemistry, I think it would be impossible for them to make a bad show.

I remember watching this episode when it came out, lol. I miss those old Top Gear days when I'd look forward to each new episode...

In a weird way I kinda miss the old episodes when things were simpler. The Grand Tour is great but this format had a certain simple charm to it having Hammond and Jeremy talking in front of an LCD monitor about stuff they found on the internet.

0:55 when I was a teenager both my parents had a citroen BX each and I loved them, so I was obviously very familiar with what they looked like so I was not in any way fooled when a few years ago I saw a BX driving past that someone had tried to make look like an Audi Quattro including an obviously fake four ring logo on the front ( the dead giveaway wasthat a quattro doesn't have 4 doors), I would have taken a picture of it but unfortunately I didn't have a camera phone at that time but I nearly collapsed in the street from laughing so much.

Who'd have thought they'd end up sending a Pluriel flying back to France years later 😆

As stupid as it looks that spoiler is in a sensible place for functional aero, in clean air that isn't being disturbed by the roofline. But for a road car that might hit the track once or twice in its life.

It reminds me of when I sat in a Plymouth Prowler. I'm less than 6ft, but the top of the windshield was right at eye level. You'd have to slouch down in your seat just to see where you were driving.

Most racing games (some of which have the exact model and year of charger that the Lee actually was) will outright ban you for using a general lee looking car, and ive seen a big push for having the show entirely banned.
