Perhaps the uptight BBC wouldn't allow them if they were too blatant, but the "suits" didn't look closely enough and most of them flew under the radar, while Amazon gave them free reign to do whatever the hell they wanted. But agree that the subtle version was best, things one might not notice the first time around.
