Jeep Overland Adventure - Oregon Eastern Desert Pt 1 - Stone Ruins Found!!
Jeep Overland Camping Adventure - Oregon Eastern Desert Pt - Stone Ruins Found!!
Thanks for joining Coyote Works for another Jeep Overland Style Car Camping adventure.
Stone ruins, epic camp site, miles of untravelled off road trails... This trip has a little bit of almost everything I live for in an overland style off road car camping adventure.
In this trip I cover over 100 miles off road in one of the most remote corners of the Oregon South Eastern Desert in my Jeep Rubicon. Had a couple of amazing rooftop tent camping sites, good camp cooking, incredible desert landscapes and got to explore some more of Oregon.
In part 1 I find some historic Stone Ruins, spend my first night in an epic camp site, cover the first 50 or so off road miles of the trip, and explore a huge ancient dry lake bed surrounded by sand dunes.
Hope you all enjoy!
Cheers,
Casey

Congratulations for the video. I'm just a hotdog seller in Brazil, my dream one day is to go out on the roads, enjoy nature, our lives go by so fast.
These homesteads are amazing. Just imagine yourself as those people who built them. Stacking all those rocks would have been hard work for a small home. No technology, no internet, no distractions. These people would have to be brave to venture out there and create the homestead.
Casey, I can’t say his enough, you and you’re channel you produce is such a great resource for people like me who are starting out overlanding. The content you provide is perfect and you are not all about selling something in your content. You’re passion shows and I truly love seeing you’re adventures. Thank you so much.
I remember watching your content years ago when I was at home dreaming of doing it myself. The past year or so I've finally been able to join in on the fun and it's absolutely worth every moment! Thank you for what you do : )
I'd have to say Casey this has got to be your best multi-part series ever. I just like se ing those old rock and brick houses you find. They just scream history all over them. Your video editing is also getting really good! Keep up the good work.

Thank you my friend. Glad to hear you are noticing some improvement in the editing. It takes a lot of time but I”m trying to keep making them better. Cheers. Thank you for the support!
Those stone ruins are so incredible. I am always blown away by how tough and resilient the Native Americans and early homesteaders must have been! I loved this episode!

Yes. I agree. I think that’s one of the things that has me so interested in history. I find it fascinating how much people endured in times past to produce even the most basic of lives. Cheers!
I was at Field's Station last year and their milk shakes are spot on. Saved my butt on gas too! The Alvord Desert lake bed is awesome! Not much around those parts. The UPS guy even had to work on his own vehicle. No help way out there.

That’s awesome that you got a chance to have one of their “world famous” milk shakes. Yeah for sure there isn’t much out in that country these days. A long ways between gas and a lot of miles of wide open emptiness to explore. Just the way I like it ;-). Cheers!
There is not a lot of content I will sit down and watch for 30 minutes to an hour on KZread, but your videos are an exception! Great stuff, makes me want to get out and adventure. It’s cool to see someone who gets out in the same country I do (Oregon high desert). It’s a special place and truly one of a kind, and these videos are a great way to show people who might not be able to experience it first hand.

Thank you. Yeah the Oregon High Desert isn’t for everyone and I really appreciate those few of you who also appreciate it and get out and enjoy it. Cheers my friend. Glad you are enjoying them. Maybe I’ll run into you out there sometime.
I love how your jeep isn't lifted to high heaven with 37's. You literally have great adventures with a normal jeep! Love it

@@chrisl7511 and thats why he does not have to spend alot of $$ after wheeling. I did the rock crawling thing, that cost me too much $$. Best to spend that repair money on gas and see the sights.
Being someone that lives in the high desert( 20 miles out of Christmas Valley Oregon) I never get tired of the wide open desert. I spent a lot of time over in the Alvord desert area on dirt bikes and Jeeps. Awesome country!

My only "adventure" in the last few months was going to Walmart. I think your's was probably more fun!

Yes But Walmart parking lots can be an adventure... 🥴
Who else says.."What's that...rock. Thought I saw atin can out there." Nobody but eagle eye Casey. Well done. Thanks for another amazing video. Appreciate you sharing the finer things about this country... especially during these challenging times. Safe travels.
Great trail adventures + cooking tips= fun times👍🏕
Box will be headed your way tomorrow and potentially in Pville in 3-4 days. Looking forward to part 2!
Yet another great video Casey. My gosh, where do I begin? I enjoy the historical aspect which you delve into along your journey- it's like having a really interesting history lesson throughout the course of a wonderful camping and overland adventure, with some great food, friendship and gear tips and comments. So for me... one of your videos is akin to a classy smorgasbord of fine food, adventure into some wonderful places less travelled, with a touch of history and folklore, and it's all comprised during the annual Boy Scout Jamboree- And perhaps best of all, the entire event is done with your buddy right there with you! God bless ya Casey- another one knocked outa the park!

Thank you my friend. Some of the best praise I could ever hope for and honestly it’s hearing that kind of thing that keeps me motivated to keep producing videos for you guys. I really do appreciate those of you who genuinely connect with the videos and enjoy them. Cheers my friend. See you on the next one!
Great video, Casey ! I hope we both cross paths out in the middle of nowhere. Thank you for setting an example for public lands advocacy.
So happy to catch you back after a long time : Bon apétit mon ami from Quebec, Montréal, Canada !
Can't believe you camped your first night only a few miles from Willow Creek / Whitehorse Ranch Hot Spring! Though if you camp right at it, might have to share;) But can always camp on the other side of Willow Butte, in easy walking distance from soaking... Willow Creek runs from springs year round, though often goes underground in the late summer by the time it gets down to the former Willows Stage Stop on the Whitehorse Ranch Rd. - you can also reach the stone ruins by crossing the creek from the old Willow Creek Rd. on the E side of the creek, though that section has been blocked to vehicles for about 10 years now since they built the new road alignment higher up on the hill to the E to get it away from the alkali along the creek! Must have been Coyote Lake that you drove in to, I'm amazed that you didn't mention the name connection!

My original plan was to camp higher up on Willow Creek but the area that I like to camp up there had quite a few cattle in it so I decided to head farther north. I hit Whitehorse ranch road a few miles to the east of that hot springs, followed it a few more miles east and then took off to the north. I never know how many people are going to watch my video so I generally don’t get too specific with place names out there. But sounds like you know the country pretty well also.. Cheers!
Mango drink and pink salt, Les Stroud would be proud of your survival skills. Lol, just messin' with ya. I enjoy your content.
Thanks for another adventure!
There was an article in today's Bend Bulletin which described Central Oregon movie filming locations. One of those was "Meek's Cutoff" which is easily available on Tubi. I watched that and it's a great film in southeastern Oregon locations like the Alvord Desert. I would highly recommend it as it correctly depicts the Oregon trail migrations and the trouble they encountered. Casey I think you'd really like this.
Nice to see ya out and about again
No fire this time, nice maize and sausage breakfast. (we call it "pap en wors") Enjoy your camping and showing such remote locations over their. Regards (South Africa)
I really enjoy your videos dude. I really hope you don't stop conversing with us throughout your videos. It makes us feel like we are your friends. Also, please don't stop shooting you setting up the camp. That's really one of the best bits. Also, shooting inside the cabin. Only comment, is that you need to learn new recipes. It's always fun seeing campers cooking nice dishes

Thank you my friend. Appreciate the comments for sure. I have totally been feeling like I need to add some recipes to my camp meals game as well. I”m just having a hard time finding inspiring new ideas. If you have any thoughts pass them on!
I hope you are being sponsored by these companies. You are giving them the best commercial they could ask for. I hope you're making bank! Love the videos, huge fan! 👍
This is the video I have been waiting for because of your pictures you teased us on Instagram 😉👍🤗 It may desolate but wow spectacular views and just how I like it. 😍 I really need to explore more in that area. 😉 Thank you as always Casey for sharing your adventures. Happy, healthy and safe travels. 😁🚐🤗📸👍
Man...I was already for you to check out the homestead at the beginning of the video. Stunning view of the snow covered mountains from your RTT.
Great adventure! I really enjoyed seeing those old stone homes with fireplaces! Looking forward to Part #2!
It’s nice to see someone loves that area as much as I do! I explore the area on two wheels to cover more ground each day then at a much slower pace on six wheels (Jeep & trailer) but I’m cautious as to who I share with; I see more trash at these locations every time I visit.
@CoyoteWorks01

I agree. Nice to hear from someone else who explores that area. I agree. It’s sad to see that some people are starting to find their way out there. And even sadder that some of them are leaving trash behind. I started traveling that country about 20 years ago and have gone out there a couple times a year every since. Still, I can usually spend several days out there without running into anybody else. I’m cautions as well about who I share that area with. I’m also careful about not mentioning place names or giving too many clues as to my exact location in my videos. Cheers my friend. Maybe I’ll run into you out there someday.
awesome video , thanks for taking us along with you.
Thanks Casey for taking us along on your adventure. I love how the desert in South Eastern Oregon has so much life in it. I've been in Nevada desert East of Reno, and parts of it look like what I would imagine the Sahara must look like. Anyways looking forward to the next one!
Great vlog and loved the view of driving on dry lake. Wow 😮
Nice landscapes Casey!! Very cool! Thx for this!
Probably my favorite CW adventure yet. Amazing trails and views!

Love your adventures. I loved it when you said what the hell is that. You are so cute. Would have loved it if you got a closer look and inside. Love the stone ruin. Everywhere you went is just beautiful. I love going into the desert where I live. I love to explore too. Can't wait to see part 2.
Always stoked when I see you put a video up! Love the adventure and history put together. Looks like you found another beautiful area Casey! Looking forward to part two! Thanks!

Can not wait for part 2, great stuff.
Absolutely beautiful country, I gotta get down that way one day. Thanks for sharing the adventure, can't wait for part two.
His voice keeps me so calm

This takes social distancing to an extreme! Another great video. Thanks for taking us along Casey!
Awfully cool views on this one Casey. Thanks
Excellent...plan and simple
I was just there this last week! Love that area. As a former Midwesterner seeing this kinda landscape always fascinates me. Can’t wait to go back and explore more!
great video and trip thanks for sharing
Very cool, thanks for taking us along! I got to 90mph there before I backed off as it felt like I was driving off a cliff as the long straight aways seem so strange. Great place, well worth the drive, can’t wait to go back again.
Was up late & not feeling very good ( throwing up) found your channel & watched part 1. Enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to part 2 tomorrow.
I'll say it again... your videos are my favorite to watch out of all my subscriptions. Thanks Casey!
Casey: Your videos just get better and better all the time . Thanks for taking me along. Orlando
The little town of Fields it's a great place to stop, have been there many times and usually try and stop every time we go through
Excellent!!
Another Great Video. Thanks Man...
Good video , as always 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing. Those old stone houses are awesome. It would be cool to rebuild the failed walls and fireplace in one. New roof or tarp roof and you're set.
I appreciate that you showed actual scenery, rather than having the camera on your face the whole time. Good to see a good spare. I know that country, and cell service is really spotty to non-existent. I enjoyed the quality photography, the audio quality and the spots you've explored.
Two thumbs up.
Good video Casey enjoy them all.
Always fun to ride along in that country. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Love your videos. Fellow friend of Six Six Solutions here. Keep on adventuring.
Great trip Casey.
Cool !
Hey Boet Wow, that stone work in the 2 cottages was amazing I thought you were going to have a thunderstorm that night I think it could have been quite spectacular Fantastic country Looking forward to part 2 Mark
Happy to see another video, and another manly drink lol. I’d love to do what you do, but here in Kansas we don’t have the remote areas like that, unbelievably enough. I’m also in city government, and the more years I am, the more I look forward to isolation on the weekends. Can’t wait for part 2!
Mannn I love the aloe Vera mango drink! Soo good!!
Love your videos keep them coming
Ooh that last part of your clip with the stone ruins and the mountains in the background was gorgeous. Been awhile since you broke out the mountain house meals in a video. I like how simple that can be. What an amazing adventure, I look forward to seeing your next episode.
@CoyoteWorks01
4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yeah I actually really enjoy the simplicity of just fixing a mountain house meal sometimes in the evening. I tend to run pretty hard out there. I cover a lot of miles and make a lot of stops where I’ll hike anywhere from 1-4 miles at each stop. Sometimes by the time i stop for camp in the evening I’ve been on the go for 14 hours or so, covered dozens of miles of rough trail, hiked maybe 10-15 miles over the course of the day... And at that point sometimes it’s nice to just keep it simple. Boil some water, make up a mountain house meal and grab something nice to drink out of the cooler to go with it. It’s all good! Cheers.
Awesome video! Hope that gofsr table is coming out soon!
