Against All Odds to Reach the Top of the World

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Welcome back to our epic Arctic expedition! So far, we've traveled through the stunning landscapes of British Columbia and the Yukon, crossed sketchy bridges, encountered incredible wildlife, and explored unique sites and historic towns. Each moment has brought us closer to our ultimate goal - the Arctic Ocean. Today, we embark on the legendary Dempster Highway, leaving Dawson City behind and setting our sights on the Arctic Circle. The adventure ahead won't be easy - we've heard that the river ferries might not be running, gas stations could be out of fuel, and there's a road closure due to a washout. But we are determined to reach our goal of camping next to the Arctic Ocean. Join my good friend Shaun from The Story Till Now and I as we push northward, tackling the wild and remote path to the top of the world. The most exciting part of our journey is just beginning!

One thing I like about Brad is he films the content he wants, how he wants, and it's no nonsense. He shows you the good, the bad. No clickbait. Not putting his wife in a bikini in the thumbnail. Just a dude doing what he loves and sharing it with us. Respect.

There were a lot of motorcycles on it when we were there. It is the dust I would not enjoy dealing with on the Dempster. The people that impress me are the ones that do it on bicycles which I would not want to do and I ride a lot of miles.

We were up there just weeks before you and had to cross the frozen rivers! Due to a snow storm we had to divert once we got to INuvik. We learned they were about to close the rivers. On the way back the gladiator broke thru the ice just before the edge. Thankfully the front tires caught the ice and brought us back out of the water. Great series Brad! Loved the memories up there!

20:47 there are a few of us that understand the sentiment of doing something that no one else understands. I rode a motorcycle from Florida to Alaska, furtherest we made it was cold foot due to road conditions. Being on motorcycles the danger factor is multiplied. People just look at you funny and say why would you do that. Making it to the Arctic circle was amazing and fulfilling. I am planing on doing the Dempster, but this time it will be in my Gladiator and my wife can go.

What an epic trip. I took a team of British Army soldiers from Suffield to Tuktoyaktuk in the Feb/Mar of 2004. We spent 5 nights in the snow with the Canadian Rangers outside Dawson City and a subsequent couple of nights in Inuvik before taking the ice road to Tuk. Amazing scenery throughout the entire journey. Very different in winter though!

Oh guys.....Great adventure. My brother and I drove the Dempster in 1979. I still have a book of matches from the Eagle Plains Motel, at least I think I could still find them, somewhere in my dresser....hahhah. For us, no ferry at the Peel River. Parked the trucks at the ferry approach, walked a couple hundred yards downstream (I could see the clump of trees in your overhead shots), and introduced ourselves to a family running a fish wheel. The son agreed to give us a ride across the river. On the other side, we, fortuitiously, were offered a ride on into Ft. McPhoo. Great little community at the edge of the world filled with extraordinarily friendly people. We didn't make it to the Beauford Sea, but our trip of a lifetime. It's interesting how little has changed in the last almost half-century. Thanks so much for letting us share in your adventure. Well done and be safe.

One shining moment (actually many). Exceptional story line and videos showing progress from the US border all the way to the Arctic 'tip' and the experiences (ups & downs) along the way. The video was stunning, & the Dempster segment so memorable.A long way from S Cal. friend, but a good & joyous time, by you & your friend as you finally saw the ice, camped & walked into the midnight sun waters. The memory for you, will last forever. I'm very happy for you.

I’ve Driven the Dempster all the way to Tuk in an F-250 with an Adventurer camper. But I did it in early March. And frankly I think that’s the time to go. Close to 12 hours sun, smooth (glare ice) road, easy crossing of the Pearl and MCKenzie. And no bears. No dist. No mosquitos. The downsides: it’s cold. Got down to -35f. So you better have a stout rig. Also it doesn’t usually snow that time of year but what is there can blow around resulting in no visibility
