TrailRecon is a KZread channel that my son and I started in 2015 to share our off-road and overland adventures. This channel started out with the simple goal of making memories while exploring trails in Southern California, but as I filmed more of our adventures, many folks like you asked me to share more details about my vehicles, camping gear and eduction about planning trips.
I've come to love filming content for you all and I hope my videos inspire you to get out and hit the trails. You'll find many off-road and overland adventure videos here, some detailed reviews of gear I've used, tips and tricks I've learned from my adventures and I'll point out the way to breathtaking new trails for fellow off-roaders like you to explore.

Just ordered the bed cap, thanks for the mini review on it. Looking forward to it now!
Can let me know how to remove console armrest cover
What brand and type are the right wheel in the opening?
Did you guys put brackets for track bar to give it raise because of the flip?
You guys seem to have endless places to go in SoCal. So beautiful
Interesting plot, speaking about poor fuel economy and the shame there are wildfires as if there was no connection.
That was a great video please do more of these!!
How exciting man! Look forward to the content
a lot of work to create a hot and exposed hazard, be careful around that jeep in camp.
Great Video ! Have a 4-cylinder SUV to cruise down to central/southern New Mexico where the alien spacecraft like to crash ! Maybe soon a trip to southern Texas to watch a guy launch a huge ICBM... Wonder if the anti 2nd Amendment people that are trying to overthrow the country know this ! Also watch a Y-T channel where a guy goes camping around the world in a Jeep P/U ! Thank you for the great ideas... tjl
Jeep heaven. ❤
Thanks for sharing.
I wish I lived in Escondido....
RANT WARNING: What stands out to me far above the cool mods that he's doing for some customers is the continuous onslaught of WELL KNOWN jeep problems; Head Gaskets, misfires, flattened cam lobes, mysterious electrical problems, transfer cases in the 392's, etc. My 2011 hemi swapped JK has had nothing but problems. In the past 3 years it has spent a total of 20 months in the shop Not only did I have an over heating problem, a burnt valve, a head gasket issue with the engine, but the ECM has gone hawire a couple of times, the EVAP canister issue seems unsolvable, the TCase and trans have had problems, and I lost a ring and pinion. Not to mention normal wear items like ball joints, wheel bearings, U Joints. Jeep is consistently on top or near the top of the worst cars on the road, right along with Volvo, Jag, and Land Rover. I don't know what to say, but Good Fxxxxing luck if you're a jeep owner. Don't get me wrong I love my jeep when it's working.... love love love it, but I am done emptying my wallet for it. After thousands of man hours in maintenance, 6 figures in cost, and more down-time than up-time I'm going to finally throw in the towel. I dreamed of being a Jeep guy. I tried hard to be a Jeep guy, and now I'm finished being a Jeep guy. I'll continue to watch and appreciate all the great Jeep content being produced with operational jeeps, but I'll be sighing all the while, because I know from experience that, behind the scenes, creators are constantly emptying their wallets to keep these things trail-worthy. Brad I love your videos. Keep 'em coming!
I just got a water jerry can as well and I really wish I got one sooner it’s great.
How did you guys get so rich?
Great info!
Picked up nice and clean ‘21 Sport S 3.6 2 door stick with 16K miles several month ago. Just out of warranty, and I am getting burnt clutch smell often. I’ve been driving stick vehicles for close to forty years and never had an issue like this on any of them. I know there is a recall, but no solution. As much as I love jeeps (had a 2004 TJ 4.0 and a ‘17 JK), I am thinking about getting rid of it. Plus I don’t wheel much to justify it sitting in my driveway most of the time.
Helmican falls , robson mountain berg lake trail f hiking in out is amazing
Google Kia Bongo an amazing overland vehicle. Would be cool to see other vehicles from other countries.
Canada border services has not had a new contract in two years. They will work to rule very slow at the borders soon make sure you put that in hour plans on your return
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - It's really great to see pragmatic builds.
Awesome video as always Brad. Definitely like this type of content it so interesting as a fellow Jeep fan learning all about Jeep and all problems they have and learn how to fix them.
Safe Travels!
XJ just flies over that mud hole like it's nothing 🤣😂
I'm now a proud owner of a 3.8 jk this guy made every other jeep sound like poo compared to my 3.8 rather have reliability then performance
Have fun. When your around anchorage or Fairbanks, remember there are military bases you can go use the gym showers. Regina will thank me . Hotel rooms in the summer can be $$$$
Regarding the steering. A lot can be learned by producing quality motor vehicles for decades. The finesse in the steering is something that takes time money and experience
Two words…Extended Warranty.
I drove to Tuk in 2019, epic trip, but it was windy in the 40s the day I was at the Arctic Ocean, just put my feet in. Last year drove to AK, that was also epic. Had lots of wild fires in BC last year, mostly arson. Never had fuel issues. So much to see and enjoy.
Try Liard Hot springs as you get close to Yukon.
These things are as much as an Airstream, no way they’re holding the same value
Man, I'd find it difficult to spend my discretionary income vacationing in Canada these days.
Got to get rid of that hood prop rod…awesome JT!
I probably passed you as I came down from Canada last week. Talked with Shaun at Epic and I'm jealous for the adventure. Stay safe, get some amazing content and we'll see ya back on the south side. 👍
What about a two prong switch on a motorcycle audio amp. Also the switch dosent Spotify the voltage it’s for?
He should absolutely have his own channel. A Jeep shop YT channel would be solid for people like me trying to learn!
What size is your tank i have a 2022 JT on 38 with a 3.5 sus lift it only give mes me 230mi your is at 346mi
I did this trip in 2022 and it’s amazing. Take plenty of bug spray because the mosquitoes are relentless.
120$k in canada tho. Should be 60$k.
It def looks better.
🤯⭐🫡 Best of luck on this journey We'll keep y'all in our prayers.
Our town hosted Fort Nelson while they were evacuated. They are re-stocked for services, highway is open & they are heading back home now. Smoke has dissipated the last week. BC Wildfire Service has a great app that maybe worth a download. I’ve so enjoyed the different kind of beautiful landscapes in your area. Can’t wait until you get to experience the vast beauty in this neck of the woods. Chetwynd has a neat wood carving competition June 7-9, Shepherd’s Inn restaurant is a fave trucker stop & Liard Hot Springs is worth a dip. Safe travels! 🥾🏔️🇨🇦❤️
What an adventure Brad! We're eagerly awaiting the videos to come. Stay safe!
Safe travels
Been through Canada many times. Had some relatives DIE in Canada. I can not stress this enough, carry extraction services and a sat phone. It is worth it. Ripcord WILL come get you and take you to the appropriate care. The coverage is worth its weight in cold. Having a sat phone is just a HUGE safety net. It affords true two way clear communications. Make a side trip to Dawson and run through the mining district. May as well run over to Chicken and Eagle in Alaska while you’re there!
Quit right when I heard about the stupid awning.
@TrailRecon are you running the stock diff covers? if not, which ones did you go with?
Are those guys take people on tours
