Thanks for clearing the trees! We ended up running part of the route south of Mt Hood today. We didn’t need our saws once. You rarely get to thank the people who cut the trail for you!

You are so right in telling and reminding our fellow citizens that we need to take care of our forests.

I agree, absolute amazing video. I live in Oregon and makes me want to go explore Oregon even more. If I could ask for one thing, turn down the music, love engines, loves tires, don't care for music in outdoor videos. If you keep the music I will still watch, you do an excellent job on narrating and video.

For the bumper that broke, it was mentioned that the bolts were welded on, tuning them into studs. It is possible that is the root cause of the issue. Many bolts do come with a heat treatment to give them their grade (strength) and welding temps will destroy almost every heat treat, reducing the strength of the bolt to almost nothing. (Grade 1)

Back in the 60's when I was a lot younger, my folks belonged to what was back then, the Rough Riders Jeep club. We didn't take 10 day trips cuz no one back then could afford to take 10 days off of work. So we'd go out for three or sometimes 4 days at a time. We went in some pretty knarly places so watching your videos brought back some long forgotten memories. We have a Polaris RZR now and it goes thru terrain like what you guys went thru waaay easier. But of course we can't carry all the stuff you guys carry so we just camp with our 5th wheel camper and just go out for a day at a time. But at least we're still getting out. I'm 73 now and even though I had a double heart attack last year, i'm still going to keep going out and enjoying our beautiful mountains here in Montana.

Truly interesting video, and mind-blowing stuff you guys did. I imagine doing it one day, but not at this time. Thanks for letting me take the trip vicariously through the efforts of the whole crew!

47:15 is a prime example why I have a portable/onboard welder in my rig. I have used it on myself, but mostly on friends and stranded strangers. I have used the Miller portable suitcase welder and currently running a on-board Power Welder System. Love them both.

This video rocked! I watched it twice - once on my phone and the second time on the big screen with the sound up! The production quality is amazing! You told the story of the journey, it wasn't a gopro strapped to a truck for an hour or a pile of handheld shots over one obstacle. Your storytelling is top notch. Your channel is the bar for offroad content!

Great video! We are doing this at the end of June, but going south to north. Thanks for clearing the 500 trees so we don’t have to!

Detroit Oregon is one of my favorite off the beaten path locations in Oregon. It was sad when the fire destroyed most of the town. There is a beautiful river spot near there called three pools, so beautiful, but I believe the fire also affected the pools as well.

We call the end slices the heel. For 70 years we've called them the heel, In fact, this is the first time i've ever heard anyone call them the butt end of the loaf.

And for those of us that have older rigs, with proper care, we can do this also.. thank you Nate and friends for all the fun you had and showing us the way.. for me, Mojave road and East Mojave Heritage trail until I get back to the PNW..

As an Oregonian I was happy to click this and happier after watching it all. Great video, I'd love to do that trail some day. Ill see y'all next year for the next big trip!

A friend ran across this video and emailed me about it. Epic! I was actually attempting to do a solo drive of ORBDR section 5 the same day you were doing that section. Luck had me run across you guys twice on your trip. Both times, I was turning around because of the depth of snow I was seeing. My vehicle was a white F350 superduty. Now that I see what you guys encountered, I think I made the right decision. Maybe someday I will have the skills and experience to accomplish what you all did. That your suburban made it, tells me I am the limiting factor, not my vehicle! Glad you guys ultimately were successful and congrats on overcoming all the natural and mechanical obstacles that occurred during your trip. Best of luck on your next adventure! I have just recently purchased a Jeep JKU for this very purpose. It will need some serious upgrades but I’m committed to get it done. I have wheeled all over the ozarks and the trips you guys are doing are amazing. I’m torn because I also have a K30 Suburban. This for me is a fine line of weight vs horsepower. I have followed your channel for years ever since the Bleepin Jeep days. I stumbled across Dave’s channel when I started my Suburban path. I think you guys make a great team. This was an amazing video, started it and couldn’t stop. Not an extreme off road guy but gives me the itch to plan something similar. Go with a couple friends and our boys, would be an amazing adventure!

I love that S10. I'm wanting to build a 4-door small pickup, and a 4 door S10 is probably second on the list of vehicles that I'd consider.

@@MuddyBeards4X4 My first vehicle was a 88 S10 Blazer, that I still have and it could use some updating. Still on IFS but with 4" suspension lift and 2" body lift on 33s. That's why the S10 isn't top of the list. Everything that I would do to it, I probably already want to do to the Blazer. Top of the list is a first gen Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Seems like a super solid platform and the front suspension is shared with the Ranger, so there is support there and I've always wanted some long travel. I have a build all planned out, I just don't have room and can't decide if that money would be better spent on my 97 Powerstroke. A long travel TTB kit is calling my name. There's just too many options! 😂

Wow! I've been a big fan for a few years now, your videos just get better and better, but this is next level. What an amazing adventure, and with the excellent editing, music & cinematography, I enjoyed every second of it. I also really like your message about people helping people at around 1:08, that really needs to be said more.

What a good upload! Good content and editing as usual! A good time with good friends is hard to beat! Even if there is a little back breaking work involved, it’s worth it! This video is some serious motivation to get my project done! I like how you made sure to remind everyone to be good stewards to the environment. Cause if we’re not, trails like these will be closed down!

I’ve camped many nights at that clearing campsite near Detroit. So glad it didn’t burn in the 2020 fires. I was worried about it until the area opened back up. Glad you were able to enjoy it!

Lightning fires are a natural occurrence. It’s nature’s way of cleaning and clearing undergrowth and cleansing the soil. In 5 years it will be a beautiful landscape and starting of a forest again. I’ve seen it happen before here in the North Carolina mountains. Love all the videos,prayers for you and your family.

No it won’t. These forests were destroyed because of years of poor management.

Great video and a great trip. I noticed no real snorkels for the dust management as I know most people don’t think they need one up until they do a trip like yours with multiple people on dusty roads. Definitely helps with filter life and sadly a mod that most people like to make fun of while not understanding what they do. Wish yah luck on the onX off-road build, great choice of rig.

This was an awesome video! You guys really fought hard for this one! I used to live in the Pacific Northwest for 10 years. I had to move away to the Midwest. I miss the PNW every day. Such amazing country. How do you find friends like these to adventure with? No one I know is even remotely interested in these kinds of trips, and I’m the only person I know who even has a Jeep! Needless to say everything I do is solo, which severely limits where I go.

This, hands down, is the most entertaining off-road video I have watched in a very long time. Bravo!

I've got a SAS 2000 Denali that has a 4L60. I rarely run in 4th gear unless I'm on really flat ground because of the transmission shifting between 4th & 3rd along with the torque converter locking/unlocking in 4th. I' built the truck about 9 years ago and have put roughly 50,000 miles on it with no tranny issues (knock on wood). I hope he gets his tranny issues lined out...love that big square body.

Awesome video! Thanks for putting your message out there about being a good steward to the land. I used to wheel in AZ....("phoenix area").... There was a man made fire that spread over countless acres and toasted everything. Everything was destroyed for tens of miles in all directions. It was very sad to see. It went from a beautiful desert with saguaro cactus, to a burnt waste land.

Thank you for the fantastic video, i am watching these type of videos to prepare my vehicle for a trip in there near future. I hope to do this route in the future.

Amazing video, fellas. Love seeing the builds, you guys maintaining the woods and the trails, and tackling those obstacles. I grew up in the PNW mountains and I know how that snow gets in the spring! Even with awesome beadlocks and lockers you still gotta WORK to get through.
