Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight Deerslayer.

Ғылым және технология

I misspoke in this video. I double checked the serial number and it turns out my Ithaca Model 37 was really made in 1952 NOT 1941. A 100% American-made classic. I had to re-uploaded this video because I accidentally deleted it while trying to edit out about a minute of footage. I'm still having issues with my video editor software...

    You are living a charmed life. Most pre 1963 Model 37s require hand fitting to get a second barrel to mate up correctly.

    😮 $200 dollars is a blessing you won’t see again! I have a model 37 featherlight with an 18.5” smoothbore barrel and when I say it’s a bad motherfucker… that’s sn understatement. Finding an 18.5” smoothbore gun or a barrel for that matter is a great find considering they haven’t offered that barrel or option for decades. Beautiful gun brother!!!!

    I’ve grew up being taught model 12 was the best shotgun ever made. 40+ years later I think Ithaca’s are a little better.

    I have a Model 37 I purchased new in the early 1960s and I love it, it shoots like any deer rifle you can buy I have the PD model 37 being I was a member of a police department. If you get a chance to buy one, buy it.

    Nice you pointed out the $200 you paid for yours. I notice not many say what they paid. Thank you for addressing that right away. Upon confirming slam fire I immediately agreed to the $550 cdn (edited to add 2017 to transaction info) asking price of what turned out to be a born April '53 12g featherweight . Mine has a 30! inch barrel and full choke. You can't even order 30 inch (perhaps the barrel is too long and it is a detriment? idk. Not to shooting although I am new to gun owning and I am going to be working up some sweet #2 buck handloads. Vid liked and random comment dropped because M37.

    Always liked the M37, there's just something about them. I'm right handed and have owned damn near every 12ga pump variant and the Ithaca stands apart for some reason, I can't even put my finger on why 🤷‍♂️

    To put the safety on, you have to press the button left to right or right to left? Thanks

  • @BerserkHighlander

    @BerserkHighlander

    That's a right handed safety so right to left is fire and pushing it left to right is back on safe. Ithaca does make left hand safety's you can buy so it would be the exact opposite. They are easy to install.

    I have a 1950's series model as well one of my favorite guns! I've wanted to fit a rifled slug barrel for years, you mentioned the man you bought the barrel from had 6 in stock at the time? I know the video is from a few years back but any chance he has more for sale? I would love to speak with him and purchase if so! Thanks!

    I may have to replace the barrel on my Ithaca 37 and am just finding out about interchangeable barrels and non-interchangeables. Did yours just drop in?

  • @BerserkHighlander

    @BerserkHighlander

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes mine did, but only because the gun AND barrel was produced before 1963. Research the serial number on your Ithaca 37 because you may have to send it in to Ithaca Gun Company so they can do some machine work on it to properly fit a new production barrel if that's what you want. I would call them directly and tell the the serial number.
