Corpse Knight to me is a deeply disappointing card for one flavor reason: you have a Zombie Knight & didn't call it "Knight Of The Living Dead," is clearly a wasted opportunity.

Nah, see, THAT needs to be a Commander! Like an Orzhov/Mardu zombie, skeleton, and/or knight tribal commander. Maybe resurrects your dead knight friends as zombies/skeletons!

Always happy to see some new Kor! Tied with Viashino for my favorite race in mtg. This seems like it'd be a fun new Aristocrats option, even if I usually prefer Rakdos colors for that

nothing makes me happier than seeing new toys for Teysa, and Dominaria is chock full of them.

Which ones are you thinking about ?

I'm not super interested in this as a commander, but i'll definitely be adding both this and Nemata, Primeval Warden to my Ghave, Guru of Spores deck. Nemata + Deathspore Thallid is great btw, you can kill anything with 1 toughness for free at instant speed and collect payoffs in the process.

Going in my teysa deck for sure.

Very first thing I thought of when I saw this was Add Nauseam. Really dig that you took the time to mention stax effects that would go fantastic with it.

I know someone who will really like this commander

I don't know if I would play it over Teysa Karlov or Elenda Dusk Rose as an Aristocrats leader but there 99 certainly loves another cheap drain effect

This card is gonna go great in my Myrkul deck, since it generates a ton of tokens

Hail Phyrexia! This set has me hype, lot of really cool and new ideas in it, and of course Dominaria is one of my favorite planes!

Definitely an add to my Elenda Dusk Rose deck

definetely interesting, currently playing an ayara aristocrat deck, definetely missing some token generation with 2 mana but i guess you can always things like gravecrawler etc and other recursion. biggest downside for me, not being able to play my liliana planeswalker... on the other hand, i get to replay wayfarers bauble right?

I've been wanting to build an orzhov aristocrats deck for a while and this is definitely the push I needed.

I literally just built a Lurrus (as Commander) deck a few weeks ago. And now HEAVILY debating if I want to switch to this. Only thing is there are several KEY elements I don't want to be without (Altars, Ranger-Captain/Recruiter, Gary, Karmic/Reveillark, Dictate, Elenda, Smothering Tithe...). I like the idea of having Lurrus in the Command Zone, but having a Blood Artist effect is also VERY enticing... Choices choices!

Would love to see you try Lurrus. The low mana cost should support low cost.

Luminarch Ascension seems like a solid cards also Revival//Revenge looks great in this build!

I could see cleric class, warlock class, and even paladin class helping this deck out a ton

You could also add in souls sisters, and theres a couple extort cards at cmc

also good to keep an eye on graveyard removal from cards like bojuka bog. Some hexproof for the player is a good option to prevent your opponent to target your graveyard

Witchbane orb is good.

I'm seriously considering adding Elas to the 99 in my Jan Jansen Artifact Aristocrats deck alongside Zulaport Cutthroat, Nadier's Nightblade, Marionette Master, Corpse Knight, and so on.

Good, another nice addition for my Abzan lifegain-+1/+1-token combo deck. Just being a 2 CMC soul sister-like is already enough for me, not to mention deathtouch and burn, absolutely gorgeous. Impassioned Orator you're out.

Ran The cat and wolf duo from Commander Legends for awhile, was awesome

All these uncommon legends are making me psyched to build new Pauper EDH decks.

Slotting right away into my Cleric Tribal deck.

That’s what I thought about Ayara when I saw her first in Eldraine.

This is perfect for my Colfenor, Protean Abuse deck.

Speaking of companion Lurrus, there is also Jenson Carthalion. A 2 cmc commander that is 5 color. How would you build it?

I definitely foresee a number of Lurrus Companion builds, as you observed. Especially since Orzhov actually has a lot of excellent cards that cost 2 or less.

It feels like it's a flood of new legends coming out for commander lately! This one seems like something for me, great idea with lurrus! I can finally use my blinged out lurrus properly.

This is going to work well as one of the 99 with Ratadrabik.

Afterlife is a fantastic mechanic to build around for this deck. Sac the card, create tokens, and then bring back those cards.

My first commander was the 2 CMC white black Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim (I think that's the name), first game of magic I exiled Morophon from the Tiamat player's board, they weren't happy I shut down their free dragons combo the turn the played it

Don't know if this was mentioned, but because of the low CMC, Limited Resources could be devastating to your opponents. Questions: How would you be able to have an infinite loop with Kaya's Ghostform/Thornbite Staff/Soldevi Adnate/Lurrus combo? Lurrus would only let you cast one permanent spell from the graveyard, so wouldn't bringing back Kaya's Ghostform be your one permanent? Can you repeat casting the same permanent? Does Lurrus returning allow you a new opportunity to cast a permanent spell, returning Kaya's Ghostform? I like the idea, however, I think it's finite with the text on Lurrus. Love the content!

FINALLY! I've been wanting to use lurrus but just haven't found a commander that I've liked!

Probably will find a home in my Teysa Karlov deck. Not sure it's that powerful as a commander. What good is it if you get it out on turn two when you have no sac fodder or outlet set up yet? Better in the 99 I think.

So I’ve herd his 2 cmc restriction only counts if he’s your companion. If he’s in the 99 it doesn’t matter I was kind of confused with the way you talked about them both.

My modified Party Time deck wants this card.

White and Black have the most Tutors in those colors, I like the idea of building a more combo based deck with Elas and Enduring Renewal. Profane Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Grim Tutor, Demonic Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, etc., then some X creatures or zero mana creatures with sac outlets and Enduring Renewal to go infinite on the spot. Gg wp. Of course this deck idea doesn’t have access to Lurrus, but it’s how I would want to utilize this Commander.

The best commander combo for lurrus is Bjorna and Wenog (Lucas the sharpshooter and Will the wise) Gives you 3* commanders, and 4 colors

@19:10 You can only cast one card from the graveyard per turn because lurrus will see that it is the second time this turn so not infinite with lurrus tragic poet might work tho

That is incorrect, reason being is because when Lurrus dies and hits the yard he doesn’t see the first cast as he’s entering the battlefield as a new Lurrus… therefore the combo DOES work. Same thing when you flicker creatures.

@@LordCainhurst This is true if it were an etb but it is a static. If you were to copy lurrus with something like helm of the host you would still only be allowed to cast one card or two. I think one for the same reason. A new lurrus will still be able to count the cards cast from the graveyard this turn

Is this gonna jump up in price? I just wanted this as a low casting cost that supplements a deck I already have

Probably not. It's an uncommon in a draft set that people are probably gonna buy a lot of, and it's in an archetype that doesn't really need more commanders - Teysa has already locked down most Orzhov Aristocrats decks that aren't going into this Lurrus theme.

Oh... Im actually really upset that it's a blood artist. I honestly saw this during spoilers season and though it was a suture priest... I could have sworn it read "when a a creature etbs under an opponents control they lose one life" I'm only sad because my play group hates me playing broken commanders XD

I guess its a refence to Ayli. Still a wierd combination for the title. I mean, he's not apparently going any specific place for religious reasons. Sure he's real into Sheoldred, but pilgram doesn't just mean has religion and will travel. IMO Elas il-kor, Suture Priest would have been the better callback to an old card.

Pilgrim has a few different definitions, and a pilgrim for religious reasons is only one of them. It's probably using one of the other definitions in this context

"His mana cost, his mana value, if you will is 2." Yes, that is quite cheap. What are you getting at? "And, he's in Orzhov." Yes, I see tha--ohhhh, nooooo! The format breaker...is here! *explosion* ...Lurrus!

If you do the companion version he talks about, you cant run Edgewalker cause it has a CMC of 3
