Rotlung reanimator and edgewalker; the first rewards you for each cleric who dies with a 2/2 zombie while the other reduces the cost of all your cleric cards by reducing the colored mana in the cost. Edgewalker can allow you to drop your commander on turn 2: Turn 1: land - tap, sol ring. Turn 2: land - tap, play edgewalker, tap sol ring, play commander.

Please make the non-budget upgrades video for the deck, would love to see what would you put in a deck with a few bucks more. Cheers!

Non budget upgrades would generally be the usual suspects for black and white, like tutors, various removals/wipes, smothering tithe, and good lands. Some others are the sac altars, conspiracy, along with rotlung reanimator, which is a game winning infinite combo, if it's paired with any of the things where opponents lose life on creature leaving or entering the battlefield trigger.

Another one for the 1s, Children of Korlis (sac it: gain life equal to amountlost this turn). It'll help with taking the edge off of any sort of massive damage dealt to you in one turn, and also can be used to bounce back from any amount of self drain, or even better yet, if brought back multiple times, will actually gain you life inspite of any amount of 'drain for draw' effects.

This happens to be one of my fav decks. Dude is truly unrated. Tho it’s got demon themes.

Don’t give it away! This guy is awesome. My best deck. Look at Pyre of Heroes. It’s like $.50 and it’s really strong in this deck since everything is a cleric

I'm going to build a cleric deck soon with this guy at the helm. Great video and many good ideas!

This is one of the few Commanders I'd willingly consider using One with Nothing in it, especially in response to a boardwipe.

Dawnbringer Cleric is a strictly better Warpriest of Thune.

Great, please do an upgrade guide. I have built an Orah commander deck a few months ago but it wasn’t THAT crazy. I have the sac outlets, I have the reanimator package but I realized when watching your video that I was missing a lot (in quantity) of that ETB/LTB package. Instead I have too much clerics with triggered abilities (ie soul warden) that want to stay on the battlefield. But it is not how Orah works, you want an incentive to sacrifice and reanimate these folks. Thanks for bringing the light to me 😎

I run this deck, but less budget friendly, it's a pretty fun deck and there are some great ways to make death chains. Lots of fun to play

Edgewalker and Lurrus of the Dream Den seem very useful here.

Question, if my opponents pops a board wipe, Orah still pops her effect off for each cleric that is destroyed right?

  • @salty_edel

Correct. You'll get several graveyard recursion triggers. Unless someone has cast a Wrath of God type board wipe, you can set your triggers to reanimate several of the clerics that died because of the board wipe.

@@salty_edelthat includes Orah himself as the triggers all technically happen before anything changes zones. Definitely raised some eyebrows and he is reanimated from his own ability

I mean, you still could. you are chaining your sacrifices high MV to low with Orah. Why not simultaneously tutor low to high? its a good fit

So I built a near identical deck and had tuned it for nearly a year and it just unfortunately doesn’t do much :/ sure the cleric sacrificing is cool, but there’s no real way to close out the game. Ended up dropping the cleric theme and switched to the coin counter athreos for a regular reanimator and the deck is already doing much better

If you pay the kicker, is that the cmc or is it only the cmc in the top right of the card.

How does this "chain" work. I've wanted to use Orah as a commander for a long time.

  • @marc0s158

    @marc0s158

    7 ай бұрын

Basically, whenever a cleric you control dies, Orah sees that and brings a lesser mv cleric back to the battlefield. So if your graveyard has clerics of MV 1 - 4 in it, sacrificing a MV 5 cleric would bring back the 4. then you sac the 4 to bring back the 3. repeat until mv 1. this is a chain and gives you multiple ETB, LTB, Death, Sacrifice, and Graveyard triggers for very little investment. the more clerics on the battlefield when you start, the more chains you can do simultaneously. I once got a chain of over 30 by having 5 high MV clerics on the field to ping the entire table to death.
