This is how Super Mario 3D All Stars should have been

This was an INSANE MOD a true MASTERPIECE, shame that Bob-Ombs aren’t in Super Mario Odyssey though

This is just awesome. When I heard Peach's Castle was gonna be in Super Mario Odyssey I was excited because I thought they were gonna recreate the inside of the castle and maybe even recreate a stage from 64, but to my disappointment they made the castle just a single room inside. The fact that Super Mario 64's levels are rather small and that a fan could recreate Bob-omb Battlefield so easily just highlights how much of a wasted easy opportunity this was. Also, it was neat how he recreated certain stars like having Glydon fill in for the Wing Cap and replacing Koopa the Quick with a timed hatless race. He even had the flower patch warp. This was really cool and it'd be neat if he remade other levels from 64 as well in the future.

I loved how they even included the smallest details, like the sound Mario makes when he walks. In the N64 it sounded like he was walking on some weird hard material when walking on grass, so they mimicked it here too!

Nintendo needs to make Mario 64 levels as DLC's. The moons being where the old stars were(with maybe some new ones like the goomba girl one, or ones that require Odyssey mechanics) You also have to get them the same way! Instead of the wing cap, you'll use Glidon(or whatever his name is) like seen in the video. Cmon, Nintendo! You have the PERFECT opportunity to do this, *PLEASE* don't waste it! I wasn't born yet when 64 came out, and its nearly impossible to get your hands on it nowadays, so I would love to experience it in any way that I can!

The Hobo Bros need to play this. I want whomp’s fortress next.

Super Mario 64: HD Remaster.

This is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Mario has evolved so little, but it’s games are always so fun and amazing. Crazy to think about

this is truly amazing the models are very clearly made from scratch, and are very high poly by fanmade standards. the ways they found amazingly cool comprimizes to replace mechanics odessy doesnt have, the fact that the level has moving parts, the utilization of every aspect of the level is just really mindblowing! This level is by no means the standard for mario mods, infact, this is as good as they get

It definitely seems like an introductory level, which was Bob-omb Battlefield's goal as well. Nicely done!

Hazy maze

It amazes me that so many assets from this level are already in the game.

Now this is what they should do in Oddysey! Instead of having static 8 bit Mario sprites, they could just remake all of the 64 levels and have us redo the stars. They could even do Sunshine levels if they wanted to as well

It's so good that I was beginning to think this was a real secret in the game for collecting nearly every moon! On the other hand, I was thinking how I would have known about this a long time ago if it was officially in the game because the internet spoils everything. So props to the creator for making it look so good that it confused even a hardcore Nintendo fan like me!

From what I heard, Nintendo did mention adding a possible DLC update featuring levels from Mario 64. Can't remember the source but I do remember hearing about a 64 related DLC coming in the future.

This is actually ridiculously incredible. I lost my shit when you entered the bush and came out of another bush. I couldn’t believe that the creator(s) did that! I was hoping for the space in the wall where you teleport to the top to be there, but I’m just nitpicking. Besides that, this is absolutely fucking *_INSANE!_* There was nothing indicating that this was just a layer over another kingdom. Bravo to the creator(s)!

Now I want Wet Dry World in Odyssey, ya know, to feel Negative Emotional Aura in HD

Promise Music Nah, don't actually know that much about audio. I'm more of a student programmer tbh. Just recognized the effect really easily. Maybe the audio was just moved over without consideration of the Switch's limitations or formats.

This remake is amazingly beautiful and accurate to the original back on n64 Nintendo gave us an awesome game for the switch but couldve added this for another moon such as beating king Bomb-Om, realeasing Chain Chomp or something with a new twist they gave us a good re-imaging of the mushroom Kingdom but should've and could've added missions and different worlds like this one from Super Mario 64 with new missions or something because that game is what started the 3-D series for Mario

Modding the switch is totally safe if you take the time to research what files you're running after it's homebrew'd. However getting banned from Nintendo Online is almost expected eventually.

@@maro6332 If you don't trust yourself, then it's probably best to just use the console normally. Only reason I did it so easily is I've homebrewed/modified about every Nintendo console since the gamecube. :p

For every game, there are difficult things and simple things to edit. Ultimately, what the developers made easy to modify is what is easy to hack. For example, pretty much every game's 3D models can be edited as long as the format is understood. However, if your game of choice has a proprietary 3D model format, that aspect likely won't be editable for a long time. I believe Super Mario Oddyssey uses the BRRES format, which is used in many first party Nintendo games dating back to the Wii, so it is very well understood by now. I'm assuming you're wondering why cannons, wing caps, bomb-ombs, etc. aren't present, Those sorts of things have coded *behaviors.* These *behaviors* are incredibly difficult to add, as one would need a perfect understanding the game's code. Even if we had the source code, it would be hard, but the worst part of all is that we don't. Without source code, the garbled up 1's and 0's would either need to be decompiled (inconceivable in practice) or reverse engineered (highly improbable). If you're interested in games with custom behavior, Super Mario 64 and, more recently, Super Mario Sunshine have matured to the point where custom behavior is now possible to implement. Some games feature a scripting language that allows for high-level (swapping verbosity for simplicity) custom behaviors to be coded. As far as I know, Super Mario Oddyssey is not one of those.

Finally a remake where there is weight and speed to the character/animations.
