Thanks for the shout out! You definitely get the credit. My first international house sit was everything I dreamed of and more. Even my local house sits were amazing - the experiences of the people, the homes and the pets have added so much fullness to my life. There is also an amazing community of sisters from exodus summit who started sitting in 2023 who support each other. Thanks you sharing this message with us!

I am a 45 y/o woman, two adult children and two years separated with no college degree. I got so overwhelmed with the “plan” of taking a sabbatical I almost changed my mind about actually taking one. I watched one of Rashida’s videos about running the actual numbers in addition to one of your “ease” videos and it dawned on me! I’m making this wayyyy more complicated than it is. Now I have a set date (Oct. 2025) for my sabbatical and what ain’t done by then won’t get done cause I’m OUT!✌🏾😎. Thank you for ALL you do!❤😊

It’s a wonderful feeling taking that first break. Do it ladies, put yourself FIRST and LIVE.
Stephanie I can confirm that what you said about why Black Women need to take career breaks is what drove me to take my now nearly 2yrs away from a 20yr career. What all you said about decluttering many parts of ourselves and our lives is exactly what I’ve been doing and I’m finding MYSELF. My husband has been my support system right along with the Exodus Summit Community❤❤❤

Thank you for this❤❤❤. I have been feeling this way for a while. Took a least stressful job at much lesser pay, got my passport, now getting my income together. Thank you.
You're so right about loving the body you're in now! When you stop the negative self beliefs, life blossoms! Self-love is the first step to realizing the life you want!❤❤❤
April 7th will mark 2 years that I started my one-year sabbatical 🤣. I just can't go back. Everytime I think about it I get triggered. The time away has given me plenty of time to become aware of all the triggers and ways that I've suppressed all the toxic isms. The best gift I could ever give myself was being my own Sistah's keeper...and waking up without an alarm EVERYDAY!! I'm not a wage employee any longer, and I don't make much money (working on that), and I don't work less, but I'm way happier. In fact, I'm on a Grown-up Spring break this week. Next week is feeling like Spring too. I appreciate you for practicing in public and availing yourself to create this community. I am an Exodus Sistah!!

I get it! These 9-5 and careers are so unsatisfying. They take so much time from our family, joy, and travel desires that even young people like yourself have had it.
I am on month 11 of my 2nd career break (first one was 2009-2010). I keep 2.5 years worth of all expenses and money for fun in a bank account so that I don't have to stay in a toxic job. My plan is to return to a job in June. We shall see. 😊

I lost all my investment money to move abroad.. I’m going to manifest it back 10 times more and I will still be able to follow my dreams. This video just gave me more inspiration to keep my dream alive.
I just spent two weeks in Vegas taking care of a sick relative and I took my remote job with me. At first I felt blessed to have a flexible job, then I felt miserable for having to work while taking care of my injured relative. Then I dreaded coming back home and continuing to work even remotely. 😢 I need off the hamster wheel because nothing feels right anymore, I can't even talk to my family and peers about this because most of them have the "work until you retire" mentality or do things because that's the way it's always been done. Couple that with owning a home and having some sizeable debt I don't see myself getting off the hamster wheel anytime soon. 😕
Literally me....not sure if I was burning out. So I am taking the career break. Turns out I was indeed experiencing burnout while tryna do Black Excellence. 🙄😮💨
I am 60, and embarking into my Adult Life, inspired and encouraged by your vidéos and your Message.

I am looking to make that break. I am retired military and crrently working a federal job. I can do early retirement in 7 months at age 56 but i think they will penalize me for not being the true retirement age but oh well....the cost of FREEDOM!!

It's not too late. I remember the key question from the Sheraton note pad video: Have I already died? 😊😊😊😊
I decided to take a career break for life and retired 🤷🏿♀️. I sold almost everything, and moved to a country that had lower cost of living than Canada. My way of doing this was by saving money and renting my home. But Stephanie is right y'all. You need a break! Please take one if you can!

Thank you for giving me a new term- career break. I’ve been following for a while and don’t know why I heard this term loud and clear this time. I moved from the DMV area to Arkansas 7 years ago. I’ve been on a career break since I moved here and I love that I can be with my dog every single day- if she has a seizure I’m here to comfort her. I do have future travel plans-within the states-with Butterscotch my fur baby but first we are doing a Swedish Death Cleaning to get rid of tons of stuff. When Butterscotch crosses the rainbow I want to be able to pack up quickly and live your lifestyle abroad. 😊 Thank you for all you do.

I have been focusing on me for about 2 years now. I retired in 2020. The life of ease is for me. Decluttering is at the top of my list, so that i can leave the US for good. Its a little bit more difficult because my entire family is coming. 10 of us.....
I'm so ready for a break. Need to figure out how to afford it.
I need a break from life! I have no friends or family! If, the little family i do have just come around for money. I realize that I need to get away from Tn for awhile. But, I realize I need some sincere, honest, caring people around me. A change to live and think clear.

Stephanie THANK YOU once again for always delivering the confirmation needed at the right time. The past 2 weeks has hit me with soooo many unforeseen surprises that has caused me to emotionally spiral. When meditation wasn’t working, I knew it was time to do what always calm my nervous system…TAKE A BREAK. Immediately once my accommodations were booked, calmness (or I don’t give a dam attitude) took over. Having a community to validate what we’re ALL feeling is such a sense of approval and knowing, it’s all going to be ok if we only listen to our needs and just GO! I agree with you 100%. Black women need to recognize we are in a state of emergency for our mental, emotional and physical health. Take action NOW ✈️
