I am practicing treating myself better everyday. I am being gentle with myself and I stop myself from speaking negative (our words have power). One way that I treat myself with lovingkindness is that I am the authority on how much and how long I work even though I don't own my own business. I also don't deny myself pleasure EVER. Sitting here watching this video, I am relaxing by playing in my planner I take classes in the things that I am interested in. You're right Stephanie. We're trained to go from one project to another, and it's exhausting and jarring. So, the biggest thing I've done to embrace ease is that I've stopped doing things I don't want to do. Nothing and no one is excluded! Thanks for the reminder, powerful message here. 💟
Stephanie thank you for another empowering video. As a single mom, for too many years, I existed in constant state of hurriedness. I'd rush to drop one kid off at day care and the other at school. At work, I'd rush from meeting to meeting. During lunch I'd run errands, go to the bank or take a kid to the doctor/dentist. After work, I was off to a game, piano lessons, gymnastics or wherever. Now I'm retired and the kids are mostly grown. It took me a minute (just one) to get used to having "freedom" AND "time." However, with your encouraging videos, I was a very quick study. I spend my newly freed up time, doing things that support my peace and bring me joy. When I was a child, I loved to color. So, a few weeks ago, I bought myself an African American Self-Care coloring book and colored pencils. And on some days I spend hours drinking coffee or wine (depending on the time of day) and just coloring. Thank you sooo much, for reminding Black Women that WE deserve to laugh, smile and be happy. And there is no guilt or shame in it. Blessings and peace,

I know this info was geared towards women, but this spoke volumes to me as a brother. Black men absorb a lot of psyco-emotional hits from a lot of different sources (i.e.- Parents, teachers, media, relationship partners, etc.) and we internalize them. This often leads to some unfortunate self-fulfilling prophecies and perpetuate the stigma of "lazy", "trifling", "useless", "of no account Black men". I plan on sharing this video with some of my male friends who, like myself, need to hear that first point over and over again.
What a great idea to not say things to yourself that you would never say to others. That changes everything.
You represent an inner freedom rarely witnessed in black women. Your presence is inspiring and refreshing.
I find your voice so soothing. I usually don't watch the Supreme Court hearings but I did last week. Judge Jackson was treated harshly by some of the Republicans, which she DIDN'T deserve, but she carried herself with dignity and class. I liked how Cory Booker tried to uplift her. I appreciated this video. We as Black women are entitled to love, we are allowed to feel appreciated, and deserve to be cherished. I for one feel that Jada deserves an apology from Chris Rock. She too was humiliated, as he was, as Will humiliated himself. On another note - it is important for Black women to lift each other up and be nurturing to ourselves and each other.

In treating your self for some black women is a process because we take so many people. We put our self last. To day being a single parent of teenager. I walk 30 mins a day. I have lunch one day a week with a dear friend. I write and read 2 hers a day. I recently taken a art class. I have learn how to take care of my self by having less. Now I surrounding my self with positive people.
I no longer force myself to do things that cause me stress or anxiety. Some things we have to do of course, but there are many stressful things that are not a "have to," so I don't do them. I save myself from that stress and anxiety.
I love the phrase: I treat myself with love and kindness and if you are not able to treat me with love and kindness, then don't speak to me". I will definitely use it if an occasion arises. Thank you for this.
You are whole guru saving and improving black women's lives. I praise THE MOST HIGH for you.

Amazing discussion, Stephanie. I love that you touched on the Confirmation. The parallel of self-love/the Confirmation/career advancement was brilliant. The abuse that I (and our fellow sisters} go through for career advancement is horrible. It's belittling and esteem-stripping. We as black women have this amazing opportunity to LOVE OURSELVES in this moment. Extending the Grace to ourselves that we wish others would extend to not wait and just go ahead and extend it to ourselves first is LIXURY. Self Love just feels good. Self Love really is the most beautiful thing you can do. So Love Yourself. That is Luxuriousness at the core! The thing I do to show myself grace and ease is to say I Love You Each and Every Single Day. It is my reminder to give myself grace and that I am MORE than enough.

I agree Stephanie! We have to love ourselves first. Negative self talk is so destructive and it's difficult to listen to. Most often times it's an unaddressed PTSD from a person's childhood or a subconscious competition with insignificant societal standards. I initiate self-love and self care through affirmation & gratitude meditation and Qi'gong exercises to jumpstart each day. Meditation keeps me energized and in the here and now. I'm also able to repel toxicity because I no longer acknowledge it. ☮️ Dwelling in the past and anticipating the future depletes valuable energy. The beauty of it all is that I'm able to easily extend grace to myself and others because I am clear and am certainly at peace. This is an EXCELLENT topic! Please keep them coming. I appreciate you! 🙏🏽🖤🙏🏽
Yes, if I treated myself even 1/2 as well as I treat others, I'd be doing much better 🙄
So true, self talk is powerful and it works! In terms of treating myself I started being super intentional with what I ate, making sure it is what my body I needed and deserves and I'm now reaping the rewards (wasn't easy but worthwhile). Previously, everyone's needs came first and I was last, so my health suffered - but not anymore. You're right it's the little things we do doesn't have to be luxury 24/7. Please keep inspiring us as we find our way out of the matrix and into our life of ease by choice! 😀
I spend more personal time with self. Resting well and listening inwardly.

Hi there Stephanie!! Wow - did I NEED to hear this today. I was at the gym listening to it and then came home and started packing up my office because we are in the process of moving. Well, I came across some of my old direct sales accomplishments from a few years ago and do you know the first thing I started saying to myself was '' See all that work you did and you still didn't make it to where you wanted''. Now isn't that awful talk? After I realized I was feeling a certain way, I stopped and remembered what you said in your video. I went back to those certificates and said OUT LOUD what a wonderful job I did and how admirable it is at the committment I possessed for the business. I had to keep saying it Stephanie, too so that I could really start to BELIEVE because you know what, this black excellence is FO REAL and I'm not even living around a bunch of black people - it's this feeling of ''SHOULD'' aspire to be and I'm realizing that maybe I had other people's dreams you know. It's heart breaking for me at the same time though because I do feel as though I wasted time. Now I'm at a place in my life where I'm trying to decide what I feel like doing - not for money but just doing. I currently have a full time job and have stepped back ( like waaaaaay back ) from my direct sales business. Now I just do it for the discount because I do love the products. I know longer aspire though to be a top seller or recruiter. I'm a musician ( I play with a local symphony here - I'm a cellist) and have recently discovered painting and drawing, I also have thoughts of a book lurking around...lol.I really want to start a KZread channel so that I can share these loves. I live in Quebec City with my family out in the country. Everytime I see your videos I'm like.....WHERE IS SPRING becuase we still have snow...lol. Anyway, I feel as though I'm on a path to somewhere...not sure where...but I'm going to stay on it. Sorry for the long message here..it's just that your message this morning was RIGHT ON TIME!! They dont hate you..this phase will pass Im going through the same with my 3 & decided Im going to leave them behind (safely in our home) as well & have faith that they will be forced to dig deep & utilize all the tools we equipped them with. Their dad will have to step up once we remove ourselves from the front lines. If we allow them to dump on us..then they will never be forced to rise & change. Map out your plan & stick to it. We got this!💗

@@StephaniePerry You said something I recently found to be true. The material things don’t do it. I was surprised and alerted how my body chemistry responded when I took a small group trip to Cabo this past October. 1st trip without the kids in many years. I won’t get into the details, but my whole body was just happy and I was glad to be with some women who knew my back story and took my phone and said you are AWAY!!! Lol. So, in the meantime due to strapped funds, I just put what I can aside. I would be interested in any investment advice.
Stephanie I love your platform and have watched you grow over the past couple years you are inspiring. Over the past 2 years I consumed myself in changing jobs and fixing up my house totally neglecting myself. I wanted to take a trip this month and didn't go because I need that $ for dental expenses. But I am tired of it never being me. I dont have children and I am not married the 1 thing that makes me happy is travelling. Hopefully I can take a trip soon

Just do it and find a way! Traveling is one of the ways of loving myself and the pandemic had me jonesin for a trip due to lockdown. Although an introvert, my trips are a way to reset myself due to working in both Healthcare (ER) and as an educator. Not being able to leave the country was 🤪 but I planned and went on solo camping trips with nature hikes which were major blessings during the pandemic. ❤ They are a low cost way of getting away yet immersing yourself in the beauty of the divine Mother Nature.

@@ForeverLuxeDesigns I went on three and had a blast!!! I went to lovely campsites in Cali and the weather was perfect. I pitched my tent, cooked outdoors with my portable stove (you can get great inexpensive tents and camping gear at Walmart and on Amazon) over a fire pit. And I fixed MEALS! LOL! Hikes and bike rides during the day, chilling by the campfire with a glass of wine, making s'mores and reading a book was HEAVEN. Peaceful sleep in my tent and waking to the sounds of nature is wonderful. If pitching a tent isn't your thing there is glamping options as well. I researched what gear I needed and went to town shopping. Your camping gear will last for years. I have another trip planned for the summer. 😊
Amen!!! Amen!!! Amen!! Stephanie Perry I agree sister we have to be kind to ourselves first and self care is a top priority for me. And it should a top priority for other african americans and black women all over the world. Self preservation should be practiced by all of us african americans woman worldwide. Stay bless!!! Mrs. Perry.
I enjoy my own company.
Thank you, BW don't need to take care of everybody and saving everybody.
That’s the part of my New Years resolution to treat myself with loving kindness alone with you do you and I’ll do me.
Thanks for the affirmations!..I'm transitioning to a life of mostly ease. I feel guilty sometimes because our society says keep doing..doing and doing. But I'm so happy to be retired! and not doing that much during this Pandemic but taking care of myself. You indeed look so rested.. relaxed and like you treat yourself very well 🥰. I will take all your great advice and will keep watching!
I treat myself with loving kindness, by embracing myself with what I like to do.....

@@Kamase318 I appreciate your kindness 💖
Stephanie you and I share a lot of the same sentiments regarding self-love. It took me a little longer to get to this truth. However, I think my daughters and granddaughters are learning this even earlier and for that I am so grateful. We have lost too many elder wise women, in the prime of life because self-kindness was never a consideration. I'm glad to be a part of Team Ease. BTW, your hair is as beautiful as your energy.💜💜💜💜
I was thinking this very thing. I have been trying to be everything for everyone else these last few weeks and I have completely forgotten about me. I am taking right now a few hours for myself. I need this.
God Bless You sis. You, Cynthia G, Deborah Cooper, and the black woman sphere saved my life 🌹🌷
Same God … yesssssss!!! 😩🙌🏽 Thank you, sis. I needed that.💗 Keep glowing, my beautiful, limitless sista friends! ✨✨✨
God bless you my sista....I will play this over and over!
Thank you Stephanie! Showing ourselves loving kindness on a daily basis is essential to our wellness!!!
I love your affirmation of “same God…” 🙏🏾❤️
Love your channel immensely! I am treating myself with loving kindness when I quit a toxic job last year and now living my best life. I had no idea how much quality time it takes to truly take care of what matters to me and doing things that brings happiness to me and in order to Interact with others. Life does not get any better than this!
Stephanie, you are a gem.

Girl, tou spoke a mouthful today. Almost every example you gave hit me because I've been feeling the same way. I'm going to replay this again and share it with friends who need to hear it too.
Thank you so much, Stephanie!
Just starting the video but I just want to thank you Stephanie for your timely videos. I find it hard to embrace ease and just hearing you talk about it allows me permission to give myself a break. You’re doing the Lord’s work and you are clearly aligned with your purpose in this life💗
I will pre order your book as soon as possible. Thanks for this.
