Girl you are on FIRE LATELY! It's like you are really getting clear on your mission- not just your work! My job back in 2008 during the beginning of great recession was killing me! I left with TENURE drove off to house-sit no less. I was deeply depressed, diagnosed with PTSD from that "great job" toxic that folks told me YOU CANT' LEAVE IT! If I had left Steph I would have had a very different decade...I was so gutted and worn out it took years for me to heal. I now work for myself- no way will I be bossed again. I now coach women in meditation, mindset and manifestation of their life dreams. You are so inspirational. I've always wanted to live abroad or just travel around the US. But with all the changes in the US I beginning to feel like yes abroad would be better.

I was fired. 10 days before I was supposed to receive my bonus. After giving my blood and sweat. I had been doing the work of two people in our office for almost two years. The salary was NOT worth it at all! I had already been watching and learning from your channel videos. I am so appreciative of being fired it has opened the door for me to being an Expat. I am so over corporate slavery America! My career/job does NOT define me. Thank you again

I will be retiring next month at the age of 59. I have been miserable for years. I would switch jobs within the agency every 2-3 years thinking maybe it was just that particular job. Nope. Then, I started counting off the years until retirement because of age and "what else can I do at my age?". It's sad, but I never knew that Black Women were traveling the world and as many had moved out of the USA. I started looking at various videos and my spirit started singing. I'm awaiting my passport and planning an extended trip to Mexico. I am so excited. The younger generation are not as loyal to corporations. They don't appear to fret as much about leaving employment. I overheard my son and niece talking the other day. They both said, "oh you can get a job if you're looking". 🤔 Also, they have no qualms with rejecting a job if the benefits are not to their liking. I told a close co-worker that I was retiring. She stated that her goal is to put in her 30 years even though she'll reap the same amount of pension. 🤫

Congratulations Traycee! Your story sounds like my current situation. I’m turning 60 this year and have wanted to retire for the last 5 yrs. But I wanted to pay down debt and pay off my mortgage. Waiting until 65 to collect SSA and Medicare. I thought life has to be more than working yourself to death and paying bills!!. I enjoy traveling and always wanted to find a remote job. When I express my feelings to other friends family and coworkers they think I’m crazy. I have friends that are retired and looking for another full time job stating they are bored with being home everyday. I’m looking forward to freedom and take these shackles and chains off.

Great point. My validation was based on how much money I made. So, when it was time for me to just focus on creativity and writing books. I was like hell no, there ain't no money in that. Then, I started to travel and found that I could live in other countries for much cheaper and still write. This is crazy because it changed my whole mindset. Everything tumbled down like a deck of cards, and I realized that I was happier not looking for approval, validation, and/or acceptance. I was happy just being an artist. It's funny, I used to be more creative when I was a child, but society beat it out of me. Now, I am slowly finding my way back there and I never felt better. Your eyebrows always look good BTW!

But it was such a stressful job (both from supervisors and customers) that to be released from it was really a blessing. Now I work a job for a purpose, and when I'm through paying off a couple more bills, I won't continue. That's why house sitting appeals to me. If I haven't learned anything from the horrible germ game experience of C19/politics/mandates, I did learn that business is business. Regardless of how much overtime I did, extra work that I anticipated & took care of, if my job would have had to let me go they would have PERIOD ! It made me stop & think "although I like my job, how does it no longer serve Me?" So I took another job paying way more & hours that serve me & my family better. This video came at the right time! After slogging my guts out for my employer, though from home, over the last year; he surprises my Co-worker and I with redundancy notices on Monday. I knew they would never support my dreams as an envious and insecure man so I'm hopeful he's done me a favour. Thank you Stephanie ❤️

😂😂😂 Before I even begin to watch this video, I am so overwhelmed with laughter just by reading the title!😂because this is exactly how I feel! 😂 I am so grateful that God led me to your channel Stephaine. I had no idea that so many women were feeling this way. I thought it was just me because no one in my workplace is talking about it. You have made it comfortable to feel as though I deserve my life to myself and not giving it to a job that I am tired of. I don’t hate it but I’m tired of being overworked and unappreciated! I can’t wait to dive into this video. I just wanted to tell you just the title alone has made day. Thank you!!!😂😂😂😂❤✨

I love LOVE this video! I’m soooo happy I started following you! I had to do a retrospective approach. I am seriously considering teaching abroad. I realized I’m not respected as both a black woman and educator in this country. The teachers in this country are disrespected on a political, socioeconomical, regional, and systematic level. We're disrespected by politicians, parents, students, stakeholders, administrators, and district leaders on a continual basis. Every time there's extra funds, it's usually spent on more technology equipment or infrastructure. There's nothing wrong with either area per se, but those two areas are the MAIN areas extra dollars are spent on each and every single time most districts are able to access extra funds. Public School teachers MAY get lucky and get a one time bonus. That's a BIG if. Oftentimes, American public school teachers are overlooked and dissed. No mention of salary increases or anything. Let's not get on the broken curriculum and the achievement gap continuing to widen. But yet, we don't see the funds 🤦🏾‍♀️ My wake up call came last week. I have a whole masters degree. All glory to God for that (no offense to members in other faiths) but there's NO reason why I should have to work a second job given all that I have accomplished AND STILL take home HALF of my base salary after taxes. Upon realizing this, I knew I had to make a serious change. I am aware most educators abroad have a tax free salary. And free housing. This will be a chance of a lifetime if I pursue a position abroad. It will unleash a lot of great opportunities and experiences while at the same time thriving financially. Bottom line: America is not good for the working middle class. The rich aren't taxed and the poor is under taxed. The middle class gets the worse end of the bargain. This is for any profession btw. There's no sympathy towards these teachers who are continually leaving these schools! I mean NO ONE I mean NO ONE gives a damn why there is a high teacher turn over!!! They continue to create these high salaried positions for teacher coaches/facilitators but yet they could use that money for professional development and salary increases. People work better when they're happy! They could do a four day work week and use that fifth day as professional development for teachers. Studies show students perform better in a 4 day work week. Or at the very least, provide subs to the classes once a week while teachers do the weekly PD. I mean if they're serious about our professional development 😡 It's bad enough teachers don't get paid for their salary but then not to see no prospect for getting paid for the education we earned. I knew I was on my last leg when I worked at a retail store one time and a student from my school worked there too. I told God something was wrong with that picture. I know it's not about the money. It is however about the respect. Teachers should be taken care of period. We shouldn't have to work two or three jobs to keep our heads above the water. Working a second job should only be for recreation or travel or just spending money. It's sad we're more valued in other countries then we are here in America. I'm actively looking for abroad opportunities. I can't continue taking this. I'll at least be home during the summers. I need to get off my soapbox. I had to let all of that out of my spirit 💯
