    Ooohhhh so true. I’ve visited several places where it is quite easy to live on less than 1,500.00 a month, if you can shift your thinking about what you need to be content. Minimalism is where it’s at baby!!! You gotta be nimble to fly✈️🌎💕 Thank you Stephanie, Roshida and Adelia for showing us the way

    I’m new here! I’m 32, single, no children and I’ve always wanted to live abroad. I left corporate America. I found myself working as a part time operations manager at a retail store. I found so much more peaceful 😅. I currently live with my family. I feel like I’m having a midlife awakening. I really have no desire to overwork and climb the corporate ladder. I’m tired of it. I have so many transferable skill’s because of my diverse background. I’m already a minimalist and I truly just desire freedom to do as I desire. I don’t have to worry about wealth building because it’s literally just me 😂. I do however have a little fear about safety, community building and just understanding the logistics.

    Very late seeing your video. Watched it but I have never limited myself to traveling internationally. In 1999, I was not working, and I went to Central America, carrying my portable massage table, without my family members. I had a blast. With friends we flew over the oceans to Central Time, i slept in a hammock, ate fresh farm foods, went swimming in the Gulf of Fonseca. I did massages by the sea for friends. Shower outside in the hot sunlight, $$$ shopping in town with villagers. I👀 stayed one year, rent free 🐟. I took many photos with disposable cameras, NO internet at that time. I have memories to last me for a lifetime. I am child FREE by choice. I'm an only child too. As an adult I didn't tell my parents about my trip to Central America! No drugs, no drinking, and no smoking, plus I don't eat junk foods.. I left the USA healthy and returned to the USA healthy!.............. age 70 physically fit! Honestly being on a "fixed income" is easier because you know exactly how much you have to spend and receiving a income. I get paid once a month (state employee) and the same amount. I pay all my bills upfront. Then work with what I have left. Sometimes I have to figure how to make a little more depending on extra money I need.

    Preach Sis! You are absolutely right, people have put a negative connotation to the words "fixed income". Folks buy into the myth that it limits you. Instead, it is a certain, steady income. Income that is only as limiting as what you do with the funds. Thank you for being a great teacher and thought changer! 💯

    The fixed income is the reason you CAN do what you want to do! The way you’re looking at it is the reason you can’t. I live on a fixed income, and I see nothing but freedom and the option to be wherever I choose to be, whenever I choose to be there, for as long as I choose to stay. It may not always be easy to get there, and that’s o.k.. I have time. I’m retired. LOL It’s a beautiful thing! 🥰

    FIXED MINDSET. That's the key! A lot of times we think we can't do stuff without even taking the time to consider why we think that way. A lot of us who have moved abroad, it's because we've had an epiphany of sorts. A point in time where we realized that everything we thought was holding us back actually wasn't. In America it's ingrained in us that we are free to do what we want, free to think what we want, free to say what we want but the parameters have already been set by your family, by your community, by your education, by your government. Life is supposed to be this or that way and if it isn't well, you are just doing it wrong or you're just not trying hard enough. It's never that there is another way to do it, ya know? As soon as you break out of what other people have prescribed for your life, that's when you actually become free!

    Exactly fixed income limits you to that fixed amount and a job fits that definition

  • @ivyfeenix
    @ivyfeenix7 ай бұрын

    A fixed income is defined as income that is specific and received on a scheduled basis. People with "regular" jobs do not have a set amount and schedule because they could lose their job at any moment, have the potential of gaining or losing hours at work, potential of receiving bonuses, etc. Although, a fixed income shouldn't hinder anyone from achieving their goals of living abroad, it is still different challenges faced than those who work "regular" jobs.

    Hmmm, all fixed incomes are not the same. A fixed income of $3000 social security + $3000 pension per month is very different then a $1,500 per month disability check. A $6000/month retirement fixed income is a financial, time, and location freedom enabler. Often retirees use the term "fixed income" to communicate low fixed income + limited or no earned income. I think Stephanie is on point. The "fixed" can paralyze you. A low income means we have to find ways to increase income or ways to cut our monthly expenses.

    You take money out of your home bank account via ATM and/or use a credit/debit card. You mail in your tax forms or get an accountant in your home country to file your taxes electronically. It's probably not that different from what you're already doing.
