My heart breaks for these horses. You can see on most of them, they look so sad. Animals are smarter than what we give them credit for and I truly believe they knew what was going on. I hope you get the horse you want from that guy.

Is there no organization that will prosecute the ones that are clearly cases for neglect, why don't the auction people give the names over to the authorities? I an not from America so not sure how animal cruelty cases are handled, extremely sad watching these poor innocent animals, l am glad they are mentioned in the Bible as being in heaven, that is the only good thing about their release from this earth .

I know the feeling… I’ve cried over many horses… especially working on the track and it’s a claiming race. Walking them out to the paddocks… then prepared to retrieve them after they’ve won, place or showed. Then they’re gone. And you walk back empty handed, bawling your eyes out with their lead rope and halter while the others walk back behind you with their tack. 😭🥺. Worst feeling in the world. X5. Still hurts to this day… but other horses come and go. I love what you do. Even if a horse is only “yours” for a few hours or years, they remain in your heart. Hugs.

I've never understood the rationale behind a Claiming Race. If the owner and trainer have put all that money and effort into training a good horse for a race, and if the horse wins, the owner loses the horse. Some random person just walks up and claims it; don't understand it at all!

There are very few purpose driven people out there who affect people and horses the way Shae does. She is such a kind and informative person. I never attended a horse auction I so had never heard about the loose pen horses. I did discover another channel called the The Clever Cow Girl who only rehabs the loose pen horses and rehomes them. It's amazing to see two such devoted horsewomen out there educating the public and bettering the lives of the horses they work with on a daily basis.

I’m sorry that it didn’t work out with that sweetheart today. I think your attitude about it is something we can all learn from. If it’s meant to be it will happen. The door isn’t completely closed and if something is meant to happen it will. Look at all the auctions you had to go through to find Belle, and it was after that previous mare broke your heart by likely having DSLD.

I admire your sticking to your plan and model. That has got to be really hard to do at times, but well worth your dedication, especially when your horses "graduate" from your training and go to good homes where they will be loved and treated well.

While you do not have to become a full non-profit or change your business model to become a rescue, especially if you don't want to be a full-time rescue/shelter/rehab there is the opportunity to share your expertise and the fact that you already have a facility and you have a base of viewers who may be interested in funding the rescue of one horse at a time. Around here we have many ranches, stables and farms that will run a fund raiser and then based on what they raised will keep an eye out at auctions for a horse that they have the funds to rescue and rehab. Some will take on a long term mission of giving an older horse some last good retirement years while others will rehab and retrain and then either work the horse themselves or find them a good home and what they sell them for can can be the base amount to start a new fundraiser for another rescue project. And all sorts of other situations. One does not have to be a barn to barn dedicated rescue, or going in and buying up every animal at an auction, as one horse at a time can make a difference too.

I hope the best for you and the beautiful horse. What you do is amazing and unique. You bring out the best in horses and bring them to the best of their potential. I wish you the best of luck on finding your next horse if that’s this horse or not. Your an inspiration to me Shae keep doing what you do.

Shea, keep the auction visits going, the Appy at 10:30 in this video sure was a nice looking horse. Some of those salebarn situations can be very hot on a Aug. muggy day and wear out a horse just being there. Glad you made a video on the day.

Well, that was exciting! Sorry it didn’t go your way but at the end of the season, if you don’t find one….this one could be an option. Loved how friendly he was and what a beauty! …. On to the next auction! Hoping a great fit for your program!❤

This video just broke my heart. The looks of pure sadness and fear in the eyes of these horses, not to mention the injuries and signs if neglect was more than I could take. I will never understand why some humans can be so cruel to animals. I feel so badly for these horses. My heart is hurting right now. I just want to save them all and bring them home and love them like they deserve.
