I hate auctions. These are discarded & expendable animals. There's a high chance of the slaughter buyers getting their hands on any of them. Devastating & heart wrending.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

It’s good that they feed the horses and don’t stave them nearly to death. When I saw this video my heart dropped. I was worried that it was one of those auctions. I am so relieved that most of the horses are healthy

The Amish are extremely heavy handed with horses. Heart breaking

And other animals. My bff has an animal rescue & is always taking their cast-off animals. They also run a puppy mill where I live.

What a rollercoaster for you! That the filly went so high means a number of other people saw in her what you saw--which is a good thing despite getting bid up further than you felt you should go. She seemed perfect. It's no wonder you felt so emotional! Sending hugs! The Vanner was beautiful and looked like it had some really good training! And that adorable goofy palomino at the end --oh my goodness!

Kyle is a doll and little lady, you don't know how fortunate you are to have him support you on your journey 100%. I know what it is not to have that. Give him a big thank you from me🤗. Love your videos and seeing the participation of a very blessed couple. Old grandma here and horses have always been my passion. Passions need to be shared, it makes it all worthwhile. Shae, honey, you have to be completely invested to find a new horse. Don’t feel embarrassed or ashamed for the way that you feel. That is what makes you so perfect for what you do and for your horses. Your horses are so blessed to have you as are your students, and I’m sure Kyle feels the same way. Your KZread community is so blessed to be apart of your channel. You, Kyle, your horses and videos are changing lives and the way people view horses and equestrians. Anyway, keep your head up and keep those tears rolling if they need to roll. Love you girl.

I had tears also on the filly. Could envision her as adult- such a beauty! We can just hope she has a respectful new home that nurtures to the fullest!

Oml the filly is gorgeous and the effort you put into your vlogs is insane everyone loves you and you deserve the whole planet not just with your skills as an equestrian but your kindness towards animals because theres so many horse abuses out there that don't care and unite with there animal and the horses are clearly scared of their human. Even Raleigh liked your channel lol.

One thing I've noticed about your auction videos is you always make the right choices. You're incredibly responsible with which horses you buy and how much you pay. As the economy goes south,, the horse auctions will see more and more quality horses. My feed bill is killing me and I'll probably be selling my rescue horse next spring...I simply can't justify the money anymore. Feed is almost double, and hay is through the roof...IF you can find it.

I really like how you explain the features that attract you to each horse. Each video is a real teaching moment on what to look for and beware of when buying an auction horse.

I got a horse who got physically abused and that was about 6 months ago and at first he didn’t let anyone touch him and now we have kids riding him. He is doing so good

She is a STUNNING horse! I think gypsy vanners are one of the most beautiful breeds out there ❤❤❤

You made some decisions based on your program and budget prior to attending. Those guidelines were smart, and meant to rein in emotional reactions in the heat of bidding. Yes, it hurt emotionally, but you stayed true to your program. Good business decisions are not easy. 👍👏

Shae, I think you made the right decision about that filly, that price seemed crazy for a weanling, and the person with the winning bid seemed dead set on her. There will be another one, the world just seems to play out like that.

She is absolutely gorgeous and I have a feeling she is going to be a great horse. I think that is way too much for a filly, but I haven't been in the horse world for years. You will find the right one 🥰

I am a green-horn, so was surprised when the auctioneer said, "$he ha$ $ $ign$ written all over her." She is definitely a beautiful color, and with nice star on her forehead, but what else, specifically? What percentage of the value is due to good looks?

Shay, are you concerned that other bidders recognize you, and know of your expertise, and therefore BID on the same horses?

Your tears make you who you are. I appreciate that you get teary. I'm a crier so I get it. You have a good heart and your horses are important to you. I love your videos. They always make me smile, although I cried/smiled and laughed along with you when Ezzy was born. You in your jammies was okay too. :)

I was watching “The Clever Cowgirl” channel and she was at a big mountain horse auction and all I could think was “Shae needs to see these horses!” There were so many perfect little filly’s for sale all with strong chunky look that you are always on the hunt for.

This baby is so cute. Awe, there will be others❤❤❤.

You are living my dream life...expert rider, nice piece of land, corrals and a huge arena, lots of horses, trail rides, buying and training horses.

Wow! These horses are selling for so much more than I imagine. I know it’s been a while since I’ve been in the horse game but wow. Things have really changed. Horses are going for double and triple these days. Horses have always sold for what people are willing to pay. It’s just the way it goes. I pray you find the perfect fit for Ezzie. I love that you’re getting a horse for your horse 😂 You know what I mean. You’re amazing!!!

Well, this was a very interesting auction. I was right there with you and truly in love with that weanling filly. I was emotional too bc that baby would have been a great buddy with Ezzy. I understand completely the choices you made, make and invest in. I agree that a filly rather than a colt for companionship with Ezzy. Anyway, you are gelding heavy so a little more feminine power at Free Spirit Equestrian would be nice, for a change. Next auction is coming up when? I so understand the emotional roller coaster a horse auction can be. I too, have fallen head over heels for a particular horse and lost the bidding battle. And had to step outside to cry. In fact, I cried with you while watching this vid. It can go well beyond disappointment. It borders on despair. You are amazing. I’m too old to train and ride now. But I live vicariously through you❤ Your love and passion for horses is beautiful to watch. Thank You for everything that you do. ✨

Wow! That filly seemed to go crazy high in my opinion. I’m with you on a filly over a colt. Not necessarily because of Belle accepting the newcomer, but colts are quite a bit friskier, even a bit mean, at play compared to fillies. I think in the long run another filly will be a better companion for her. Good luck!

What I have learned from these auction vids is that you can be pure of heart, have a focused mindset, be gentle and well-mannered, but if you are not perfect on the outside you will just be overlooked :(
