Vex: "My heart is someone else's!" I absolutely love that line and the relationship being blossoming between Percy and Vex. The way they talk to each other is adorable, but then there are the more subtle things, like how Vex picks up the arrowhead Percy gave her before picking up the vestige, or how Percy gave her the title, "Lady of Whitestone". He values his home of Whitestone more than anything, so by giving her that high title, he's basically saying that he wants her to be a part of it. The other most important part of his life.

In-campaign, Vex, Vax, and the rest of them figure out the half-sister doesn't know any swear words, so they pepper their conversation with them and encourage her to use them around dad. It's amusingly adorable.

For good reason

One of the things I'm really grateful for is that Percy didn't get sidelined as a character one his arc was over. Granted the nature of how the story is being writen sort of protects the characters from that happening but it's still nice that he didn't get shunted to the background to let others shine. And I totally ship it.

Yes. He didn't level up this season quite the way the others did, but the same is true of Pike, and I presume that they will in season 3.

Note that when Vex is picking up the vestige, she goes for the arrowhead Percy gave her first. Only one that was back in her belonging did she decide to grab the allmighty bow.

Pop-pop is Pike's great-great grandfather (2 greats). One thing to remember about gnomes is they grow to adulthood as fast as humans, but can live for up to 350 years. Which means, any two adult-looking gnomes could be generations apart, even if they look like they're roughly the same age.

Pop pop was voiced by Henry Winkler (The Fonz) (commenting after the entire season has been seen), he also raised Grog and Pike, Grog wasn't completely an adult and needed to be raised better after leaving his family.

I saw a commentor on another reactor's video call the two teams: Team Double Date in the Fey Realm, and Team Biggie Smalls in Westruun. Made me laugh. Pixies are really nasty to fight in DnD. And when Scanlan was helping Grog with his "pill" he was whistling "Pull my Beads of Love" The final figure in Green will play a role later in this campaign, and also in Campaign 2.

Stranger Things Vecna only has the name of D&D Vecna. Sadly, even if Vecna would be part of the series, they couldn't call him Vecna because of copyrights and stuff. Like Pikes God is called "The Everlight". The Name of the Goddess is "Searenrae" but one of her Titles is "The Everlight". The God that Planeted the Tree in Whitestone (we saw him in Vaxes Vision... the giant dude with the Sun as his head), is "Pelor", but they also just call him by one of his Titles, "The Dawnfather" in season 1.

pixies are fey creatures. they're not particularly powerful but they are spellcasters with some excellent low-level spells. and they can turn invisible. plus they also come in big groups

With a Dm who knows how to fully utilize em they can be a nightmare 😂 The party I was with was being pestered by pixies so me the bard, and the rouge who is also a chemist created the equivalent of a stink bomb, and when the pixies came in our sleep to empty ALL of our potions they rolled to open basically a bottle of liquid ass RIGHT in their face. A good conclusion on a 2 session long prank war 😂

@@xxshaggygrxx1792 hehe I tortured my players with pixies. Shoe laces tied together in the middle of the night. Pies flying every where, well a pixie size pie so more like a tart. Turning them into monkeys. But the absolute best one I got them with was when some pixies teamed up with a Faerie Dragon. The dragon made a mark with Minor Illusion on a tree and the pixies put some lights in a hallow of that tree. ROFL They stuck their hand in to grab what ever was inside. BOOM! Bees. The insect swarm attacked and both the dragon plus the pixies got some tasty honey! But the absolute funniest part was I used that trick three time and they fell for it every time.

Remember that character at the end, he'll be very important in a different series that takes place in the same world. That's all i'm gonna say

OH NICE SPOT!

The green guy at the end is Larkin I really like Vex and Percy's relationship, such as it is so far in the show. It's interesting to see a pair mature together in a multi-season slow burn. I didn't really pick it up in the stream until much later but I may not have been paying strict attention. After everything he went through last season I'm glad that Percy just gets to rest as sort of a dorky and occasionally bitchy support in this season. We love to see that sort of healing.

The mysterious green fey dude in the end is a special someone from the actual campaign. He has a much bigger role in the second one and since that is coming to animation too, we should see him in all his glory soon enough!

This episode might be my favourite for this season, just because of all the parallels and the wonderful storytelling with visuals and colour. I love the surprise on Percy's face when Vex says her heart is someone else's, there's no expectation there, though he clearly cares for her. Also, I love when we cut from the twins' tense, cold confrontation, to Pop-pop launching himself at Pike for a bearhug :D SO cute. Seeing her great-great-grandfather, you see a lot of Pop-pop in Pike, the enthusiasm, the optimism, even the way they phrase things.

So Saundor is like this, because he fell in love with a woman. She didn't return the feeling. So he decided to just wallow in sorrow and be mad that he was such a nice guy and wasn't given love on a silver platter. Total nice guy.

The "nice melons" thing is actually them just bringing in one of their showrunners to voice a line.

You used to call Scanlan the sexual harrassment case waiting to happen, but I think it's more apt for Saundor over here, the absolute creep.

Yeah, Percy/Vex is honestly my favorite ship of Vox Machina. They are GREAT. I really hope most of their iconic scenes are adapted for the show!

Can confirm that the melon scene was a cameo of at least one person who works behind the scenes of the show. Nice catch.

I love Keyleth's progression in this show. The first time we see her use her magic in a serious fight it's a lighting bolt against a lightning dragon, an objectively dumb move. Now she's fucking teleporting through tree blights as a fire elemental. She rocks.

And also able to twirl and throw a dagger like Vax does. Is it any wonder that she’s falling for him, just as he fell for her in Season 1? And the best part? That tree striding was taken right out of the campaign, which is amazing.

I do love that Vex and Vax, while hurt by their sister's existence, don't hold it against her. They accept her with open arms and welcome her as their sister, because she is a child and can't be blamed for her father's faults. Their step-mom also seems okay.

Yeah, older siblings can be very protective, but we also make a bad habit of teaching our younger siblings ALL the swears.

One thing I loved about this episode is Kiki taking the lead for once, even if for a moment. Her confidence as a leader is growing

So about the Grey Hunt (remember, when Percy gave Vex her title he said she was the 'Grand Mistress of the Grey Hunt'): As we learned last season Whitestone's most valuable resource is whitestone. Which is a kind of stone that's infused with magic (a big battle between gods happened in that area long ago, that's how the stone got that way) that can be refined into a kind of dust (residuum), or green glass (residuum glass) which is incredibly useful as a spellcasting component and as an amplifier for arcane magic (remember, Delilah had a necklace with three greed gems? That was residuum glass). So it's in Whitestone's best interest to protect that resource. Now, there is also a kind of corruption that was started by the evil one of the two gods that fought there. It basically pops up in random places and starts to corrupt the whitestone around it, turning it grey and useless. So this Grey Hunt is not actually a hunt in the traditional sense (which Vex would be perhaps a bit better suited for, being a ranger and all), but the name for the group of people whose job it is to find and stop this corruption wherecer it happens. So once the dragons are dealt with (provided they survive) she's gonna have to learn some spelunking and mining skills.

I loved the hint our mystery man dropped earlier, it gave me a giggle of delight from figuring it out.

Welcome on the SS Perc'ahlia! And pixies are, to quote a certain faun, "bitches!" 😁

This is one of my favorite episodes of any series. Its just so good!!!

19:17 keep this moment in mind for next episode. Kind of ironic. Still pretty fun episode. As far as who Garmelee(I can't spell) actually is, he already told you. A traveler, a hater of theater and pixies, and someone that can't read. Next episode is wild, best musical accompaniment by far, they have an intense diplomatic session with a pixie to trick Grog's uncle, and everything goes off with out a hitch.

That was David Bowie at the end. The in the actual battle with Sandor during the campaign, Grog was having trouble because Sandor wouldn't stay in one place, so Grog could never reach him to hit him. Also the werewolves didn't come until the very end of the fight. Psh. Don't trust werewolves to help you out.

If you’re worried about Pike and Scanlan, don’t be. Pike likes the side of him that isn’t throwing around innuendos and sleeping with everyone he meets. When Scanlan isn’t being sexual, he’s a fairly likable person and what you saw was Pike falling for that side of Scanlan. You would see that her body language completely changed as soon as Scanlan started talking sexually, so take comfort in the fact that they won’t be together while Scanlan is still overtly sexual and promiscuous.

Pop Pop Trickfoot was voiced by Henry "the Fonz" Winkler....

Family matters come for everyone in this show. Just wait until you find Pike's long-lost parents.

I also thought imminently of Vecna from Stranger things. Which makes sense bc Stranger things also bases the monsters off of dnd

So I have to be honest I had to pause this video a bunch of times just so I can scream into my pillow how much I love Percy x Vex and their relationship I couldn’t with this episode and it’s my second favourite (first being “Pass Through Fire”)

Ignore the spoilers. The green sparkly elf-man is popular because he's a weird meme thing being referenced here. During the entire fey realm arc Matt the DM wouldn't stop railroading the main quest by shoehorning in ways that lead to a dude being the disguised form of Matt's self insert NPC and the table groaned every time. Absurdly, it kept going because the streams chatroom loved it and the shenanigans kept getting funnier. But it lengthened the entire campaign by 143 episodes.

Pop pop is Pikes great great grandfather he's the one grog stood up for that got him kicked out of the herd The twins went two different routes when it came to dealing with their father. Vex did her best to make him proud of her meanwhile Vax didn't try because he saw it as a useless endeavour but Syldor wasn't any nicer to either of them so it kinda seems like Vex is basically saying "it's fine, this is normal, just move on" so it honestly feels like Vex was probably the mediator growing up as well and later on when she has her "You can insult me but don't try it with my friends" snap like honestly poor girl Also I have to agree with you on percahlia, I'm not usually a fan of the straight ships but I actually don't mind them (to the point where I wouldn't skip over content because of it like I have with a lot of other straight ships) although I definitely prefer Vex and Zahra (but they're such a rairpair that I can hardly find content but at least I can listen to/read Grace and Persephone from stray gods and internally change the accents or names so it's basically Vexahra vibes, also just my mind as a whole has Vexahra content but anygays) maybe part of the reason I don't hate percahlia is because I love my Vex angst and Percy having probably less than half her lifespan (at the lower estimate of 180 years) is a great source of that not to mention her potential to outlive their children as well... Saundor is super creepy in the campaign he also brought up the finding trinket backstory (and in that version Vax wasn't there and he was never told about it either, she just brought a bear cub back to camp. So him knowing about it and saying it out loud definitely messed her up) saying something along the lines of "You project an illusion of confidence but you never left that bloodied girl, dagger in hand, body at your feet. You're a killer, run as you may." Then in the fight part Vex got turned into a pincushion and Scanlan got her back up and I'm pretty sure grog actually killed Saundor but yeah he definitely messed her up badly. But yeah, that was the moment we could've gotten archfey warlock Vex had she made another decision.

That was the Father of all Gods !

Pixies are little shits, the best of times, dangerous the rest of the time.

You should check out the campaigns especially 1 and see what it was like before there are soo good ❤

quick explainer, Gnomes can live up to 400+ years, but they grow into adults at roughly the same rate humans do, that's why Pike is close with her great-great grandfather, that's just normal for them to have that type of extended family. In the current campaign for example one of the players play a gnome who is roughly late 300 to early 400 years old

Turns out the satyr is an archfey; you'll see him again. And then again, and again... Grog's father is dead. We know this because, before the stream, his corpse was reanimated by a necromancer intending to become a lich. He embedded his phylactory in Grog's chest, hence the scar. VM had to gather a few rare items to put a stop to it, and that's when they crossed paths with Percy.

The D&D class alignment, like the moral compuses of characters! There's 9 in total I believe, and Lawful Good is someone who does good while obeying the law, and a Chaotic Neutral (which is me in real life) is someone who disregards the law, does what they want, sometimes it might be good, other times it might not.

I see that after the thumbnail of the twin siblings Vex & Vax with the subtitle "Are they flirting" went down so well, you've decided to stir the pot again with a thumbnail of Vex and Saundor and the title "I ship it!" Bad Clickbait! No cookie! 1:20 - *“What- Hmm. That was too much of a bit! They lingered on that too long. Was that a joke?”* The "Nice melons" guy was drawn to resemble Brandon Auman, the show-runner, who also provided the voice. The artists at Titmouse have been sneaking themselves and their colleagues into the show as background NPCs since Season 1. 2:26 - *“Hoo-hoo-hoo! Daddy issues!”* "Daddy Issues" is Vex's legal middle name. 14:00 - *“Yeeess!!”* In the show, this is an obvious choice with a clear _right_ answer. Saundor is a horrifying creep; the kind that posts hour-long diatribes about "the females" and "natural" gender roles on his podcast that only other disgusting incels subscribe to. In the campaign it wasn't _quite_ that clear-cut, and Matt was entirely prepared for Laura to potentially choose that Vex would take Saundor's offer. In that case, her race would have changed from Half-Elf to a Fey, with all the powers and weaknesses that brings. 7:13 - *“No. Don't you dare! Who was that?!”* That is a character who plays a role much later, towards the end of the campaign, and an even bigger one in campaign 2 (though mostly indirectly). For now, all you need to know is that "Garmelie" was in reality a very powerful Archfey.

The green guy does come back later in the show. When Keyleth finally officially moves on to Kashaw (which I totally shipped 💕), Vax decided to go back with Vex to confront their father with the bow. They run back into the true version of Garmilee in town, and he and Vax end up... Well, he gives him more than his heart, shall we say. He makes the deal with him that Vex didn't make with Sandor, and Vax multi-classed into Archfey Warlock.

They really really shortened their trip to the Feywild. Way more happened. Travis got super excited about encountering werewolves because werewolves are like his favorite thing. Grog actively wanted to get bitten. I missed the scene where Grog tossed Garmelie across a river shot put style. And I missed the scene where Grog talks Vex into letting Pike and Scanlan ride her broom to do some recon on a witch/hag's house. Laura threatened to kill Travis if anything happened to the broom. When the witch/hag caused the broom to stop working Ashley legit pushed Travis out of his chair and told him to run because Laura was about to murder her husband on stage in front of a live audience. Luckily the broom started working again and Laura thanked Matt for saving their marriage.

So I'd Vex had taken the deal. They would have only been borrowing the bow. She would become part fey and have a weakness to fire.

Pixies are a kind of fairy, the small winged sprite kind, they were very fickle and unreasonable, in the campaign the whole party was together in the Fey wild and the pixies Petrified Grog.

I feel the animation kinda downplayed the significance of Percy's gesture beyond what it meant to Vex since their dad didn't take it seriously. In the campaign it was very much a legitimate declaration of granting her title as a noble of Whiterun, just omitting that it only became official just then. lol

Not everything that happened in the campaign gets put in the animated series. From what I understand there was a battle with pixies that was skipped over in the animated series. However they still got a reference.
