Critical Role vs Vox Machina animated series: Echo Tree confrontation

Ойын-сауық

*Original livestream was corruprted and re-uploaded. The breaks in audio are due to issues on the original stream and not caused by me.*
Side by side comparison of the scene in which Vox Machina travels into the Feywild looking for Fenthris, one of the Vestiges of Divergence needed to take down the Chroma Conclave. This is a comparison of how the event unfolded in the original campaign verses how it played out in the animated series along with the iconic line "My heart belongs to someone else" spoken by Laura Bailey's character. We also get the reactions of the rest of the cast as they meet Sandor, the cursed Archfey, living in the Echo Tree. #TLoVM #TheLegendofVoxMachina #criticalrole #comparison #voxmachina #animated

They chose a perfect voice for Saunder in the show. Obviously they didn't have the time to go into all of the details but I personally think they very much captured his creepiness, anger, spite and seductive air, as well as Vex's pain surrounding her father and her self doubt.

The fact that so many Critters insisted that Saundor wasn't supposed to be an incel/toxic masculinity type, and then the official TV show just doubled down is so amusing to me. Watching Marisha's reactions to him vs everyone else, she understands his type all too well unfortunately.

14:31 That moment with Keyleth grabbing Vax’s dagger and cutting herself free, even doing a twirl like he does… that will stay with me forever, as will her actually throwing it at the vine covering his hand, allowing him to finish the job. Clutch teamwork there. Also, it’s a perfect example of how to apply one’s D&D stats in an adaptation. Keyleth has a Strength of 14 and a Dexterity of 15, plus proficiency in Athletics due to her Outlander background. And Athletics, if not Acrobatics, is often used to escape grapples and being restrained. That, and she’s used daggers before to harvest from creatures, even borrowing one of Vax’s on at least one occasion. Bottom line: Kiki is damn good with a dagger when it’s in her hands.

I always kinda wondered, did Vax _teach Keyleth_ to do that as a bonding opportunity or did she study him enough times and practice it herself because maybe she wants to _be_ at least a little _like him?_

@@rogue7723 Even wrote a few fics on ao3 where she does wield a blade. And I hope we see more of Kiki doing hand-to-hand after the brief glimpses we got in these first two seasons.

So many dnd tip videos telling us cool story advise but a study of these anime clips to the tabletop would be an interesting video. As so many dm or players want that cinematic moment but in reality that doesn't really happen on a table top. It can make you feel and can be meaningful but in a different way. It'd be neat to be like "wanna do the cool scene from FMA well, here's how that likely will play out with player characters

they really butchered the „if I could rip the blood out of my veins I would“ line - it was so forced in the animated series and had zero emotional impact behind it, especially compared to the original

I disagree. I didn't watch the VM D&D campaign, but I think the line was still good in the show.

The original was so much better. They just made him into a one dimensional incel for the cartoon when he had a bit more going on in his short time in the campaign. They keep gutting the context and it tanks the atmosphere.
