This is a very good experience for Eric. From what I have seen, Eric tends to tighten up against higher rated opponents. Now he has played, multiple times, against arguably the greatest chess player in history. From this point forward, there is no reason for Eric to get psyched out by any other opponent in any other setting.
@chrome2824

I agree entirely, I think the difference between Eric and other IMs is that he isn't affraid to go against these super GMs and try for a win. I keep seeing IMs try for a draw every match against GMs, which may be smart, but I think that trying to win will help with the anxiety of playing high rated GMs.

Why Bxe3 @6:24 ?
Haven't checked up on you for a bit, I really liked this game, very entertaining.

Wow, what a living legend. Also cool to see Magnus on here.
I just want you to know, I saw this pop up, and I planed to watch it when the weekend came. In that time, KZread recommended this to me no less than 40 times. I needed videos I didn't have to look at, and this appeared in my home, after other videos, everywhere I turned. The algorithm loves you. Your not even like top 10 channels I most frequent, I mean I love your channel. Anyway your doing something right.
Hi Eric! Any chance you could make your sound/voice higher when editing KZread videos? When it cuts to ads it always scares me because I have my headphones and it’s too loud (compared you your nice tone) Just a suggestion. Keep up what you’re doing, we’re learning and loving your content! ❤️
Is no one going to talk about how eric seems to be playing with the track pad?!?!?!
That bishop e3 followed by rook f4 started the chain of collapse. Probably best idea was to activate that passive knight by moving it on g6
These mic and lighting settings are really appealing!
No kicking yourself! Well done, Erik! You good boy! Great vid! :D
why did he play Bxe3+ 6:24 ?
After Kd1, was rook takes bishop a feasible final try? You’d be down material of course but it at least seems better than what you got.
"I'll just trade queens here so I can get to the end game a bit faster". "Oh, wait.."
@7:12 how about RxKn and after BXR gobble up the 2 pawns on row 5 and also supporting black pawn on that file? btw David Howell most certainly didnt "drop out" as if MAgnus wants to play then he will make sure to get an entry
It's amazing how Rosen got up really equal in time(6:06) though he was lagging about 30sec or so in the middle games 🔥
That was a really good and interesting game! Well done!

Eric is the people's champion, we don't need a tourney for that.
Eric becomes yet another nameless cog crushed under the relentless wheel of Magnus. Which is pretty awesome. Great stuff.
Awesome game with two great characters of the chess world
Why did you give away the bishop on C3 at 6:28?
Why did you bishop e3 at 6:25?
You put up a good fight Eric! Ultimately Magnus has a very, very strong endgame. That alone makes it difficult to decipher his strategic endgame set up. I applaud you for making it as far as you did!
What was the point of g4? If nxg4 just rg1 and having a semi open file?
Eric played like a champ against the king ..my hands were trembling just watching
Where is the game on Lichess?
Why did you sac the bishop for a pawn?
Are you going to analyze the game on a separate video? Eager to see all the funny lines that we viewers missed,
After c5, bxc5, Kd1 what is blacks best move? I'd guess Rxc5 and then taking the a pawn and moving my king to stop thed pawn promotion
