This position is a well known technical endgame. In fact, he would be able to Win If he had thought at least 10 seconds. A shame for him.

@@ronaldodias6959Yes, you have to block the f2 square and take control of the square of the enemy bishop then wherever the enemy bishop goes, you set up another block with your bishop and white cannot hold the square anymore. In this case Bf2 Bb8 Be1 Ba7 Bd2 Bg1 and Be3 wins.

@@HunterBelkiranNot really, the key is zoning out the bishop and threatening promotion at the same time, the problem is that white’s king has been wrestled out therefore black can set up multiple blocks with his bishop via a manoeuvre which would ensure that the pawn is escorted safely. The winning line is as follows: Bf2 to kick the bishop out of eyeing this square, Bb8 Be1 the only square that vacates for promotion and stops enemy bishop from coming back to g3 and since there is a threat of promotion, Ba7 is forced Bd2 and white cannot stop the Be3 block which escorts the pawn and as soon as the bishop moves off the g1-a7 diagonal, the pawn is promoting. The whole idea is that black doesn’t control the g3 square with his king so he needs to force the enemy bishop to the other diagonal where he can take control of it and set up a block with Be3 which forces a trade and promotion or the bishop to leave the diagonal and as soon as that happens, the pawn promotes.

Was about to comment on this! What a shame! I think he played instantly because he had about 25 seconds to his opponent's 2, and perhaps he saw that and thought he could flag him. But I think with a few seconds he would've found that win.

Yeah, black is losing one of the rooks at minimum due to g7 mate threat too, there’s literally no move to save himself here.
