"I'm Uncomfortable Speaking English" 👉 The THING you're doing wrong

Hello students! Today's video is for students who feel uncomfortable speaking English. This is a common problem. In fact, it's the reason that many of my students decide to improve their English speaking skills with me. If you can relate to this problem, then you should definitely take a look at my course and consider joining it:

My Spanish speakers workmates feel uncomfortable when they speak English with native speakers; however, when they need to record a video at their houses, they really speak very well. Once one of them got totally blocked when he needed to talk in front of us, he looked at us and said "that's all folks". We all laughed and encouraged him to make his speech.

In my case, when I speak English with native speakers - I feel comfortable. When I speak with my son and I know I have to set an example for him - I start questioning my pronunciation and intonation

I completely agree with this line of thought. Bringing learnings to practice by actually speaking the language is a sagacious idea and will certainly make a difference.

As teacher, and ex student, I totally agree with you! I found it difficult to express myself until i started speaking English with other people. Not always Britons, sometimes Germans but speaking helped me get comfortable with my English.

Hi , Gorgeous Jade Sweetie😘😘What's going on ? My English is So so for some reason, It's not my native language but also have a passion and highly enthuse to learn English especially , After seeing u It's been enhancing at every moment . My heart desire u must come to visit my country in that way You will meet with my family members 'cuz My siblings will be surprised and shocked due to have a lack knowledge of English there is reason In my country mostly people talk in their Native language which is URDU and Hindi belongs to India so, As comparing both languages have the same accent and meanings solely but writing style is totally various . A warm welcome to come living in my home with open arms here is hot summer On .Have u ever been visited any country before?I like ur soft pretty hands but without any Gold wedding rings doesn't seem look precious . If u get some leisure time then you'll be able to see the difference between rural and urban lives in my country. no worry I won't touch u Angel Jade Sweetie😘😘 I've my words .i I'll have to maintain the decorum of your deference and have a huge respect in the depth of my heart. In my country a guest is revered as a God.

Love this channel but I don't get notifications anymore. I agree that practice is imperative and advanced literary studies can frequently be the stumbling block. I sympathize with anyone learning it as second language; what with all the multi-meaning expressions, words that sound the same/spelled different and rules that are arbitrarily disregarded. And all epitomized with the grade school vowel rule: _and sometimes 'y'_ 😆 As a songwriter, these anomalies are what I seek as they facilitate glorious irony in lyrics, but it must be terribly frustrating for someone studying to learn the language.

Dear Jade. I love your videos. I don't have any problems in speaking and I have never felt shy when talking to somebody on a daily basis. At the moment, I'm preparing the Proficiency in English and I find very hard some of the listening exercises. I understand everything in the audios but, I panick when chising the right answer at the múltiple choice exercises. Conversely I haven-t found any good teacher for a Proficiency Level teaching. I watch the BBC I listen to the radio and read The Guardian everyday. I mean, English for me is second skin -I don't want to sound arrogant, just I love English. Thanks again.

I used to teach students IELTs, which has a listening test component in it. Even as a native speaker with an English degree, I often got answers wrong. Sometimes the issue is exam anxiety or not being used to the style of the test. After doing several of those tests, I figured out 'how to do the test'. After that I was ok.

@@JadeJoddle Your advice in this video is also highly applicable to native English speakers learning other languages. Technically, my French and German are very good. However, it's a lot harder to develop the skills necessary to speak extemporaneously. Practice makes perfect.

I never get uncomfortable while talking to native speakers because they do understand that we do struggle sometimes because it's not our first language and they really try to understand and empathise in their way of responding but as in my country English is a status symbol and I feel anxious to speak infront of them because I feel judged as lack of education and lack of money .😁😁 native speakers are kind to us.
