I'M BACK! - Couple things to add to this video learned after recording: 1) It seems the AC units were placed correctly anyways, as I had stable temperature in that direction, and now it's impossible to maintain stable. There's also another comment already (which has shared a photo on Discord) that they use the original orientation for their freezer... so it's definitely the way it looks more than anything I think. I'm changing them back to how they were. 2) I've not really realized the drop in happiness from "indifferent" trait, because it's not listed anywhere INSIDE the game that this occurs, without cooking being the active task. That said, it's a 2 hour debuff, and I need multiple people on this job, so until somebody else gets better at it, you stuck with it Hann. A 2 hour debuff to happiness isn't a big deal to me. Its less time than being annoyed by a fellow survivor anyways. 3) I thought the "Flare Shield" would be something I'd need to build, much like the lightning rod, but there's no new item anywhere. I assume then that this is just some enhancement to my existing equipment, in which case, that's way too easy to get. You might as well just not have solar flares in the game at that point. :)

Sorry for being so late to finding you and this playthrough. I think the issue with the hostile attacks is on two different aspects. 1) larger creatures need up to 3 or 4 tile gap for them to auto path to and i think your gate is not that wide which means that they will try to get to whatever else instead (not sure what priorities are as another creator had a bug where a special shrieker was attacking 'something' (saying that so no spoiler just in case hadnt gotten there yet on your own) special that was inside his house behind his walls without anything being damaged in the process as his corral of sorts wasn't wide enough; 2) now this is just theory, but i think that because of size of gate being too small, the larger creatures are trying to get through cliff walls because that side of your base is "exposed" and therefore prime attack destination. Maybe, if build just small fence along the back and then just delete the gate and widen the opening if needed the issue would be resolved. I dont know if you were playing in older version of the game, but the creator i meantioned earlier was able to make multi layer buildings and that you can remove the roof of already built building. The outside roof would then be replaced with a flat roof (or floor depending on how you look at it). Maybe you need to remove the outside roof bit before the stairs could register as being "acceptably" placed?

@@djohnnyemaus because my map was borked and it reduced the fun factor, as did really low viewership when there were many other games I could play at the time.

Regarding that they don't make electronics is: You made the same mistake with tailoring, this time it's assembling you are overlooking. Sometimes it's smart to take your time in menus and examine what every button does. :)

I'm more of a fan of the series set up. It's almost like watching a really good TV show (with a common narrator). I don't have time to play a lot of the games myself, but watching whole playthroughs allows me to enjoy the game for longer durations. But maybe that's just me.

It’s not just you. My channel is dedicated to that style for the most part. - but, consider this: if it doesn’t post new episodes reliably in one place, but does in many of the others… you likely wouldn’t wait around to see it where it’s posting slower. :)

I think the red squares when you select the guns tell you the area they can't hit.

Hi nice to see good info being shared on this game. If you double click and item that you have more of it selects them all, so things like Vents you dont have to select one at a time, to open or close them. same with fans and heaters, still trying to get them right, heating and cooling is tricky.

I am new to this channel. I got hooked on the Mars Horizon series and Kerbal. LOVE the content!!

Enjoying your 'S:AD' playthrough. Totally agree family comes first though....kudos for that and just do what you can do, gaming-wise. Fine by me.

Charlie I don't know if having the air conditioning the right way would be bad.. they're supposed to regulate the temp and keep it around the temp you selected :p the AC was still running even though the temp was different because it's facing outside, so it's going by the outside temp, not inside :p I'm thinking.. you could count this as a test playthrough, start a new map with the knowledge and go from there :D 1 shot games? ACK!!! don't do it charlie!!!!

You can (provided you researched that) process dead insects into fat which then you can turn into fuel.

I enjoy the play throughs, was wanting to play this one when you showed it I see it is quite pricey though if you no longer playing this one I would like to play your copy. I bought Simcity Deluxe a few years ago sadly with I had not and knew about this game instead this one looks more fun.

Can you build a Staircase up to the other side and shoot them from above and make it shortcut to your people?? Do you think the enemies can use the Staircase????🤔

It would be nice if we had a version of games like ark survival evolved or conan exiles in the style of stranded alien dawn. Guiding units with their pets and mounts through the classic maps like the island and the exiled lands would be awesome.

I enjoyed this playthrough, been watching your channel since your second playthrough of evil genius and like how you play but I understand if you need to change.

if this games enemies path the same way Rimworlds enemies does. Then Build a area in your base that is defensible. then leave a open door to access it. which should help draw them into a specific location.

I don’t imagine that would make much of a difference, but I suppose I’m willing to have somebody take a week walking that long journey over and over with materials to do it. Probably faster to just send the entire camp, and make it out of wood with local trees

Totally unclear on the AC as it seems to be opposite when I am using it for freezer room. Very much enjoy the playthrough and glad you were able to spend a little time in the new update. Having a pet dog is really fun part of it. Keep up the great content as time permits.

You need to start a new game for the full update, several features is LOCKED behind observations and I think first harvest, something older games does not gain at all. You can't observe to get the statue unlocks and you can't harvest to get some of the new food unlocks.

Guns on platforms. Fallout 4 trick right there. Why do temp switches require computer cpu's? We made them for decades with a mercury bulb and an electrical switch. The Tecatli's have Thagomizers. I didn't see that earlier.

Might be analogous to a modem thermostat. I really have no idea. My camp I think is too large for the number of people living and working in it, really wish I could get more survivors
