3x3 rooms I've seen are best for small space rooms. They fit a bed a small window and a heater and it makes everyone happy. Then 2 people fall in love you can take a wall down and put the beds next each other to make them happy. Also, expeditions have either a time limit (so much time to go) and distance time (how long it takes to get there) or just distance time and some of them require multiple trips. Always choose someone with intelligence and combat skills.. they'll need to be able to evaluate everything and fight off dangers.

The day/night sensor is king!. I just researched it and it is nice to shut off things you’re not using anyway at night! Then just set your schedules so that electrical things are used during the day only!

The tutorial showed about leaving the gate open for the monsters to path in, instead of attacking your walls

I've found it's better to put your towers behind the walls instead of apart of it. Also you should make an entire maze outside your entrance with the short walls. If you use the big walls you cant hit them from the towers until theyre close, which eliminates the purpose of the maze. Someone on an earlier video said it's a waste of time because of flyers but those are rare and relatively easier mobs. I'm getting packs of 80+ beetles and the maze is a life saver. I also use turrets on elevated platforms with stairs inside the wall. Your vomiting can happen from any "raw" food, not just meats but even the raw fruit and veg. Disallow all those and set up a cook to make you veggie soup and meat soup until you can manage better.

For the new bilding. the outside stairs, move them 1 away from the wall, then add more balcony, and this will give you room to move the door elsewere and optimize the layout.

It’s a power thing. I like the fridge for finished dishes (short term needs) and the freezer for raw stuff.

I too like to repair fridges as part of any celebration.

Theo, it's part of what makes you such a great guy to have around Parties! I have a cracked exhaust manifold on my toyota matrix, time to start a BBQ and invite Theo!!

You could build a couple wood or diesel generators and put them on the same circuit as a light sensor. Then, when the sun goes down or during an eclipse, the light sensor will turn the wood and diesel generators on and there will be no disruption of the power supply and no waste of fuel while the sun is out.

Freezer CAN (not all things) store foods and such indefinitely. Fridges have an expiration date. Freezers use 12? energy/hr, where Fridges use 8. Check the foods stats. Some can stay "under roof" and be fine, which can free up space in said Freezer/Fridge.

I found it better to only rock the freezers. Stuff never spoils and the colonists can still eat all of the stuff stored in there without heating it up.

Hello! Glad I found your videos, this game is amazing. Hope you don't mind, but if you go long term on this game, the research is key. You are going to need LOTS of metal and smelters. Also found if you keep minimal food products, it doesn't have time to spoil. Hard to balance, for sure. Just know, bit spoiler but once you get the top levels of research done the animals get triggered by the levels of sound the building makes. You'll recognize it once you see it. Anyway, keep up the great work, I have been looking forward to the next levels you're going through and learned a great deal on the strats you have been showing, has helped tremendously! Replayability should be a good video on higher difficulties. Thanks again!

Emilin seems like a modern day lady who can't deal with rejection she was interested in katilina and now she hates her and conner so she must made a big deal out of rejection and people were like wow your a lemon

in my experience freezers are good for everything except pickled veggies as those will last indefinitely in the fridge. however I believe fridges use less power. also animal fats, oil and syrup last indefinitely on a shelf indoors

As far as I can tell the fridge is useless. It's just a prerequisite gate for the infinitely better freezer. I suppose if you research slow it is better than just being under a roof for food, but meh.

@@SolidContent yea, dont think i didnt notice those 2 top tier weapons, i was stuck with 1 laser pistol and i was half way to making my mk2 pistol when i got attacked by so many bugs they killed all 4 of my people. i tried reloading from a save twice, but it just meant i lost 3 times instead of once, LMAO. Maybe im just not good at this game, but i do love it, so i will try again,

you need to observe before hunt/butcher it may give different items/info maybe hidden things? don't want to spoil to much. but keep observing, and maybe useful info you can start picking off the bugs before they attack they wont agro until a specific time limit is triggered

@@SolidContent I found another one with Hide, there is a flying pterodactyls thing that has hide, though not much.

You can further deconstruct your spaceships in the area and get more resources to the point they disappear. you might want enough space for a bedside table to see if it increases comfort or sleep level.

@@SolidContent I bought it today and started playing a little. Im still busy with an XCOM run but soon.

I wonder if you could have used the underneath of the bunkers as something else since you have access to stairs. Seems like a wasted space. Maybe kitchen and some shelfs. Having windows on each room and a corridor right next to it... doesn't give much privacy. It is a game, but sounds probably not ideal. ;) Also, maybe the fact that the workshop has no insulation could affect the temperature inside, as the materials are scrap not good as the other room. I am enjoying the series very much. Looking forward for next chapter.

yes 3x3 are great u will have to make the bunk house bigger with 5 ppl and more ppl in future. also make garden bigger good idle but if u wall it in make sure the wall it in to the main base or insect will attack it first also dont close your main gate or they will attack all weak spots forst sp keep main gate open they will always go to the open gate. And u are doing great

People vomit for no reason all the time. Once or twice a day I’ll have my whole damn village start vomiting. I made sure no one was eating raw. Their status indicators don’t say anything. Who knows smh.

Yeah, it's happened to me too. Right in the middle of a beetle attack. 3 of my survivors started vomiting at the same time for no reason. They hadn't even eaten anything recently.. Kinda wish they'd cool it on the puking.

Silicone = pointy flowers. You can observe and then plant them. Endless renewable silicone

The spiky red plants provide silicone and you can farm it.

Pair each tower with a turret to protect the structure and act as backup for the tower shooter, who will protect the turret.

In games like this I always like at least 2, and often enough to store all of the surplus energy. This is so I have a better idea of when I need to build more power supply, or storage.

What if you build small platforms with turrets

I would add another battery

Does placing things like the turrets or motion sensor up high increase it's range? What about windmills or solar panels on a roof or platform?

pull the defense towers back just behind the fences and they cant shout directly down on the towers and you keep one gate open the bugs will go for that

It seems like the clothing deteriorate too quickly. I've seen other streamers, and even in my own game, have had naked survivors during the winter.

Why didn't you just make the bunkhouse have 2 floors? That way you can have everyone sleep on the 1st floor and have the recreation/gathering area on the ground floor.

Why keep the gate closed for your traps? The AI won’t path there if the gate is closed no?

i am still annoyed by the rotten food situation. is there really no option to forbid consuming and storing rotten food? the dev said that there is no USE for rotten food (yet) in a forum but this is a really weird design choice. the game copies so much from rimworld but not this simple qol feature.
