This manga is pretty much like John wick . Maria lost her child which was valuable to her and wick lost his dog which was valuable to him . And both hunted their prey with a sadistic glee. And the world around them ignores what they were doing like killing/hunting their victims. Both of them are the depictions of a vengeful angel.

I love this story. I’ve had a few discussions with others on Maria’s actions. Some people believe that her actions are worthless and just the same as the bullies and I’m like, this manga isn’t a moral compass read. This is a story about a mother who lost her son to psychotic people and now her rage and grief are driving her to atone for his death. These kids tortured and abused Kiri for no reason other than because they could. They murdered him so why should she care about their lives? Why should she care about how their parents feel? Did they care about how Kiri’s parents would feel to see their son dead? No. So I am fully on her side. Of course, I hope the manga does allow her to get revenge on all of the bullies without sidetracking her too much like other mangas. So far, Maria has anticipated a lot of the bullies’ actions and personalities but of course there are variables like her ex-husband who is a cop and the other teacher of the school who will probably catch on to her pattern. Side note: I think the bullies (or rather the leader of the bullies) do know that Maria is the one doing this. In the recent chapters, the main bully hypothesizes that Kiritaka’s parents are behind the disappearances and considering his previous actions with Maria, he must know Maria is Kiri’s mom. However, I believe that is also part of Maria’s revenge for him. If you’ve noticed, each torture method is designed to be reminiscent of the bullies torture methods towards Kiri. The first guy is killed by drowning since he would often drown Kiri. The girl is forced to get her SIM card in a box of razor blades since she forced Kiri to get her house keys in a box of tacks. For the leader who shows signs of psychosis and being a sociopath, Maria allows him to deduce that she is targeting them and gives him the illusion of having the upper hand. He thrives on seeing himself as above everyone else, as some one who can never be bested or rejected. That’s why he bullied Kiritaka to begin with, because he defied him. So, when he believes he’s bested Maria and got the upper hand, she’ll reveal he never was in control nor above her before ultimely destroying him. Atleast, that’s my theory for his punishment.

I really hate people who use the excuse "You shouldn't become like them" to stop someone from taking revenge. According to these people, you should bear your loss and work to deal with pain and damage while the people who caused it get away with it and enjoy their lives. Those kinds of people are quick to bring in the pain you will cause to them and their families but disregard the fact they didn't give an f about yours. It's okay for them to do it but not you because you are nice. If being nice means you have to endure all the pain without fighting back, then it's better not to be nice at all.

There's a lot of nuance there I don't think putting their parents through hell is fair just because their children didn't think to consider how they'd affect Maria. We don't know how much the parents of the bullies knew or how they tried to raise them so I don't think "their parents should've raised them better" is a good argument. They could've just been heavily influenced by their peers outside of their home. I'm not on Maria's side guys sorry 😢

While I was reading this, Maria reminded me a lot of Jigsaw. Like putting up these sort of games for the victims to attone for their sins and killing them through methods that are very metaphorical of their sins, but giving them an opportunity to escape that also ties into that metaphorical aspect. But Maria is a lot more aware of the fact that what she's doing is wrong and that she is still a murderer, unlike Jigsaw, which gives her character such an interesting depth.

I love how she just gives them a very, VERY remote chance for them to live. It's like she is not even willing to give them any satisfaction to going down to their level, since they didn't gave any chance to her son to survive, but also it's very implicit that she will do everything in her power to not let them live. It's kind of hypocritical, but I think she prefers that more than make them a martir in her head.

Remember everyone, violence in never the answer, it's a question, the answer is always yes.

Syd's husband gets to sit with her drinking and watching stuff. I can't think of a more ideal way to spend time.

When I heard Syd likes Revenge manga with female protagonists I immediately remembered Revenge Classroom. Not to be confused with Assassin Classroom. Summary: Girl gets bullied and shoved in front of Truck-kun and in stead of getting isekai'd she begins to revenge all over the place. It ends up almost making the Saw movies looking like PG-13 movies

Hey now, we know a little bit about her. We know that she wanted to be a school nurse, we know that a lot that she knows is from her husband who is a detective.

A revenge manga I always recommend is "Is it my fault that I got bullied". It's short (30 Chapters), it's sweet, it has some great twists and the revenge is absolutely *brutal* . Also, the villain looks like an evil sadistic version of Sasuke Uchiha with his hair down, which *really* makes me want to see him suffer.

You know what, i already have 2 different endings for this manga ( my theory) 1) after killing all bullies, Maria got caught by her husband which is detective or other police detective she get imprisoned and then get death penalty because of killing underage students. 2) after she kill all the bullies, she kill herself to avoid getting caught or interrogation by detective or police to didn't leave any evidence why she kill the underage students

I started this one a few months back myself. I think it's a bit hard to tell in the manga especially with an artist's style, how different a character may look after having plastic surgery or something similar. Also, I believe they said she was an orphan before she met her husband and had a son? I do think the author is relying a lot on the fact the kids are delinquents so no one will really miss them, but for what it's worth there may be a cat and mouse scenario with her vs the lead bully.

Oooh, this might be an interesting read. I enjoy revenge stories as well and this seems rare as it's about a mom doing it for her kid. One of my problems with revenge stories is that many of them try to bring morality into it and guilt the vengeful character into not doing it anymore cause "revenge bad!" which I understand but after showing the audience how terrible the targets are, it's unsatisfying when you don't get to see them get punished. Hopefully this manga won't end like that.

Maria no danzai is getting anime adaptation for an anime, so this would be interesting to see. It seems like a brand new animation company named Owl Studios. I don’t know much about the production but the thing should be released in 2025, but I don’t know much about it so this will be fun.

this is why Sydney and Garnt the perfect power couple. when i want Anime Recommendations i go to Garnt but if i want Manga Recommendations i got to Sydney. they are the yin and yang of weeb couples. that being said I trust Sydney on what Visual Novels to avoid. i have sadly play both Euphoria and Maggot baits before her videos but I Know her pain. so when she tells you to avoid a VN LISTEN TO HER!!! but overall ive been loving this manga and since a new chapter releases Bi Weekly it gives me something to read on the regular.

its a wonderful story that i feel could easily go two ways it follows the plot and gets to the point well or it fucks it up by putting in to many obstacles and delaying in other words the killings of the targets. Cause too many manga do this thing where they write good plot but fuck it up by writing so many fillers in my words or scenes that would extend the story more than it needs too. Thats why with this manga the end goal of the manga is straight forward being that maria(the mother) kills the targets (the ones who killed her son) The only thing we as readers should be curious about is how our mc is going to deal with the targets (aka the process in which she tortures them/make them regret ever seeing the day of light and wishing they met there makers lol)and how the hesitation we see our mc depict in a few panels affects her performance. PS. this is my opinion so far after reading 16 chapters, also i still love this manga so of course its a good 8/10 if the story moves well i can definitely see this at a 9/10 so yh.

Imma start reading it right away, seems awesome. Though I'm afraid I've been spoiled a bit xD I love turning off my brain to read sometimes.

The way I summed this manga up to a friend of mine was, basically take an angry mother, and now make her as sadistic and creative as Jigsaw from the SAW series, and now you basically have summed Maria up very well. I do look forward to how the story progresses, though I personally don't have as much issue believing that people paid her little mind in the past, sometimes people just don't want to think about anything surrounding a dark situation, and so she used that to her advantage.

I always just get the name and immediately consume manga, sorry for not giving much runtime but thanks for the primo cursed content!

I read the first few chapters of this manga and I can confirm that it's realistic and heartbreaking. I can definitely sympathize with Maria's mission for revenge, because the bullies were so hideous and demonic toward her beloved son. So far it's a very good manga, and I hope to read the rest of it soon.

I'm following this as well but the premise (as most stories like this tbh) often starts to become borderline fantasy at some point. 1st. They always portray the leader as some 5head criminal mastermind who would outplay even the real life criminal masterminds. Even though they are literal highschoolers. Like in this one, dude immidiately suspect the familiy of the kid and warns everyone else to be careful. 2nd. They never get monitored / get people suspicious let alone get cought. (aside from being targeted by the MC). They pull some violent shit on the SCHOOL. But noone gives a damn. Even though Japan follows a very strict "don't disturb the daily life" policy.

I love reading or watching movie where Bullies get unalived. Hate watching genre where the bullies and the victim shake hands and become friends and that it was all a "Silly phase" crap.

Yeah, manga's like this are rare nowadays. Most of the revenge stuff I read nowadays are like Korean webtoon's, but a lot of those take a really long time to actually get to the revenge like hundreds of chapters. Usually before that girl who destroyed the female MC life in her past life finally gets executed or exiled and sometimes when that happens it's usually not very satisfying and most of the time you end up feeling sorry for them
