Just played it. I can say that story is good. "Extreme" Scenes (3-4 total) are probably not as bad as a Saw movie (minus the ero stuff). The rest (10+ scenes) is kinda vanilla if you ask me. But yes writing is like if Clive Barker wrote the "Extreme" scenes with lots of detail. But it's definitely not the worst you can see out there "off-brand" wise". I've seen worse and sadder. edit: Just played it through again to 100% and I rescind my last statement. Apparently I got the tamer play through and there were so many more "Extreme" scenes (8 or 10 total) on top of the normal trope scenes. I now question my sanity... If you play it and want the tamer ending, choose "Take her down now..."

Might also be a market thing, if there is a market for that fetish that is a way to make money. These types of games can make a lot of money. Are you somehow a bad or damaged person if you make a living of doing work that pays? So I googled it and the woman who is behind the project said that it's a more adult horror game versus the more "Kawaii style" games. So I take it at face value that they don't have "evil" or bad intentions when making the game but are basically doing something different to create a product of visual art that sells.

I'm less than 20 pages in and she's already gutted herself in public while nude, then stuffed a raw chicken in her abdominal cavity; been sliced up; fucked while being incinerated with a blowtorch; and now she's being forced to take care of a "pet" by feeding it ground meat that she makes by shoving her arm into a grinder. Btw, the pet is actually a slave woman who's had her arms and legs amputated and is forced to live in a cage and walk on her nubs on all 4's.

Farz Wolf depends on who you ask but I’d say yes. Where Maggot Baits is mostly fantasy, Fraternite is a bit more grounded in reality. Yes it’s fiction, but the idea of a dangerous sex cult being disguised as a (religious?) high school club isn’t something that CAN’T happen. Unlikely but not impossible. Did I mention that all the fucked up shit happens to HIGH SCHOOLERS? I might be biased since I watch Telltale and he makes videos on cults, cult psychology, tactics they use to bring people in, why they’re dangerous and what makes something a cult. I’m just way more vigilant and critical about a group’s message.
