How to use Microsoft Teams Live Event
Ғылым және технология
In this step-by-step tutorial, learn how to create a Teams live event. Use Live Events to broadcast video and meeting content to a large online audience. These are meant for one-to-many communications where the host of the event is leading the interactions and audience participation is primarily to view the content shared by host.

Thanks, great tutorial. So, you cant sendt participants out in breakoutgroups using Live Event?
This was literally a perfectly condensed video of everything needed to know to get started with Teams Live Events. Well done mate. Helped me a lot.
Super straightforward. Thanks!!! Might be good to add that you can download the video (and how) after the event and share it on another platform for those who weren't able to attend the event.
Thanks Kevin! So much you can do in Teams!! Love, Love, Love it! 👏🙂
Minus the licensing issue, this is the best 60 minute or less explanation of MS Team Live event I have seen. Keep up the good work.
Also (from Munich, Germany) thank you very much for this and all your other very helpful videos about Microsoft Teams. Outstanding quality in every respect.
Great Kevin. I really like the way your present content. BRAVO!!!!!! Easy and clear instructions, clear language for non-native speakers. Go ahead!
Thanka for the video. you just saved my life. I have to do a live presentation tomorrow and I couldn't get anyone to explain this to me as simple as you did.
This was excellent! Thank you so much. I love your videos because you take the time to really explain how things work, and show different ways of doing things. I always learn so much every time. Please keep up the good work!
Thank you, one of the best tutorial I have ever seen for explaining in detail what everything does🙏👍😂
Thanks, Kevin. Needed a crash course to run a Microsoft Teams Live Event as a producer. This video was extremely helpful in my prep!
This was great, Kevin. Straight-forward and I feel confident producing my first live event this Friday. As many have echoed below, I'd love to see a video on producing live events and best practices for presenters and producers. In my rehearsals, I had to keep reminding my presenters to use the chat if they had a concern, instead of opening their mics to speak when it wasn't their turn to go live.
Thanks for providing the clear tutorial on how to manage a live event!
Just watched this Kevin and it's fantastic. Thanks so much for the tips and tricks. Definitely going to share this and your channel with my colleagues!
Thanks a lot! Much needed tutorial Kelvin.
This is amazing!!! Thank you so much!
Your videos on Teams are super helpful!
Great video! I made a quick tutorial for my colleagues based on this video. Thanks!
nicely explaine____ probably the best video describing about the live event in Teams THANKS A LOT SIR :D
Very helpful and straight to the point - you do great work 👍🏼
Thanks, Kevin. Great intro to this feature!
Thank you, Kevin! Very good tutorial!
Excellent tutorial, thank you!
Hey thanks for the overview of Teams, an org I am part of recently started using this and I found this super helpful.
Great explanation. Thanks Kevin!
Hi, Kevin! This was really helpful; thanks! Looks like Live Events are the way to go when I want to talk to my 100 students.
Thanks for showing how to set this up. Did not think self-serving a live event was possible.
Thank you for posting this video. Very informative.
Really helpful to figure Live Event out and thanks!
Thanks Kevin that really help me do a teams live event with OBS
Watching this, I thought it was great, the way you explained everything. And then I saw your Peloton... one of the crew! Don't know why I get so happy to see a bike 🤦🏾♀️
this was very helpful, thank you!
Great! I did a live today... and Whew!! Thx. Now, I need to figure out how to get the recording and share it with my students/parents.

Congrats! Sharing is easy. If you were a presenter or producer, go back to the calendared meeting to download the event (there's an option to do so). Or, in the future, you could send attendees the link. Keep in mind the link is only available for 180 days after the Live event.
This is awesome! Thank you so much!
Very useful video Kevin. I have one coming up in couple of weeks and hopefully I could host it successfully. Thanks again for your Video
Really well explained! Thank you
Great job! Perfect video!
Best video i have seen for Live Events. The only component missing from any tutorial i have found is how to add content on the fly or to the queue. In a regular teams meeting, you can add a PPT and will automatically go into Show mode but there is different behaviour for Live Event. Also there doesn't seem to be any drag and drop function.
Your tutorials are always so good, definitely one of my fave youtubers when it comes to describing these types of helpful how-to’s 👍🏻 What mic are you using when recording these videos? Your voice is clear and I’m trying to find a mic that suits my business. You might have said that before but I don’t remember 😊
Wonderful, this helped so much.
Thanks for sharing, great material
Thank you...great introduction. I will share your link with others.
Thanks a lot Kevin. Very helpful presentation.
Excellence explanation.. i am daily learning new things for microsoft teams.
Very helpful thank you!
The Presenter Is Ecxellent 100%
This is so very helpful, and well presented Kudos to you Kevin....
Thank you very much. Youre awesome!
Thankyou for the explanation 👍
Thanks! very useful tutorial 👍🏻
Thanks for the video. As someone who has produced several live events with Teams, it would be nice to have a video explaining how to produce a meeting with multiple producers and presenters. There seems to be little information on this subject.

@@dnml4713 ya gotta have at least two people to run a live event. One to move the videos live if you have a panel of speakers and one to run the chat externally. THe internal chat everyone can watch and presenters can possibly watch both q&a and internal chat...but hte tab with the labels are really confusing....need revision.

This is what I’m looking for. I ran an event last night, ran it just as meeting and was able to record the meeting, i need all options at once

Definitely need a cue sheet. Makes things so much easier when people know what and where they need to be doing something.

Thanks Kevin, very useful.
Hi, great video! Is there an option to show multiple presenters on screen at the same time? If so, are they able to communicate back and forth, such as a panel question and answer discussion? Thanks in advanced.
Thanks for the help!
Thank you for sharing 👍🏻
That was great thank you!
can we have 2 screens: one with the live meeting and one with the ongoing conversations not lincked with the live meeting? Help, please!
Hi Kevin. These videos are a great help at my workplace. Thanks for these. Just wanted to ask if there's a way to run a pannel discussion with multiple people on screen at the same time on live events. This will be a great help!
Thank you so much sir. . . very very helpful
Today i have tried all setting for a live event that will be going to held on 10.10.2020. Thank you it help me to explore with more option. Love from #Assam#BiswanathChariali#
Thanks for the video. if I want to stream a LIVE to youtube, only the live event screen, what should I do? I know..I should use OBS, but what else?
thanks for this interesting tutorial
Thank you for your video.
Hi Kevin, thanks for this step-by-step tutorial. Question for you: I created a test live event per your instructions. I went to check it on the teams calendar and the event is not showing. Any idea on why it did not post on my calendar? Note: The separate calendar invite with the Live Event link I sent to my participants is showing though.
thanks, very helpful.
Thank you for this video
Great, thanks a lot.
Oh my God. You remind me of Joe from the show You, that I could hardly watch this. But you did an excellent, thorough job.
Nice Peloton! Love mine!
Thanks for this great tutorial, it helped a lot! Our school/ organization has been using Teams for the last few months but none of us have never used the live event function. I'd like to ask two questions: 1) can may organization/school schedule two different live events happening at the same time? 2) can I invite someone who is not part of our organization (let's say, a visiting professor) and give this person presenter permissions, making him ou her able to share screen content?
Thanks Kevin. Where does one access the recorded video of the live session?
thank you for this tutorial, this is very helpful. I have a couple of questions: First, can attendees join by phone only? It seems like we can only share the link to the event, no call-in details (only for the presenters). For regular Teams meeting I have this option available. Second Question: if I share a PowerPoint as the producer, can a presenter have "the ball" and drive the slides himself, or should the producer advance the slide for the presenter? thanks in advance for your help.
Thank you Kevin. Are you using dual screen in order to queue then go live?
This was great, thank you! Can you line up content for a Teams Live event? By line up I mean, there are 6 presenters, each with their own .ppt. Please show us how the producer can load 6 different content items and send each live at the appropriate time.

Thanks, Kevin I have Teams hooked into my OBS so I can do multi-camera setups for web demos at the company I work for and it is fantastic. I am going to try Teams Live for a trade show that we will not be taking equipment.

I'm curious how you could use OBS in conjunction with Teams Live
Awesome content !
Excellent presentation. Sub'd. Thank you!
Thank you very much! I have a quick question, can you invite an external person as a speaker or producer if your live events are limited to organization wide only and not public? So let’s say I am organizing a webinar/ guest speaking for a private company. Can they set up the live event and invite me as a speaker or producer? Thanks Kevin!
excellent - thanks.
love i have subbed to tou i love your videos and you and your channel im a big fan of your channel
Thank you!
Thanks Kevin. Great tutorial. Love it. Is there a way to let attendee register for the LIVE event and auto receive a link to the webinar?
Thanks Kevin for a clear tutorial and explanation. Question? We want to broadcast a live event (with pre-recorded video) from the USA to Australia end viewers. I understand each participant will need to have the Teams app on their viewing device (tablet/phone/laptop etc), but what will the viewer see? Do they see only the right hand screen being the presentation? Hopefully they wouldn't see the left-hand screen where you are doing the switching of media etc...as you've said, there is a delay of 10-12 sec for the stream to be live. Does their chat window come up automatically when they've clicked on the live event invitation link? Do you have any kind of tutorial what happens on the viewer side of a broadcast? Any information would be appreciated. thank you.
Good one, very informative.
Thanks for the quick tips! Wondering if select specific people & group in the permission, does that mean the event link will only be available to them (and not the forwarded)? and there is no way to view and update the group? and another one about the content. For presenter, it seems that they cannot prepare more than one application at the content box to be queued
Great video! Thanks! When you shared a content on Pre-Live, do attendees see that without actually starting the event? Thinking if this can be a custom waiting screen. With multiple presenters, the producer can Mute All, when a presenter is Live, does it automatically unmute them when its their turn, then mutes them back when they are not live i.e. the next person from queue becomes live?
Thank you for the tutorial. Is there any function where we can create a live poll for the audience? Also, is there a way to send attendees a post-presentation survey through live or does it have to be emailed out afterward?
That was great. Thanks Kevin. My question is - and I'm fairly new to using Microsoft Teams - is I'm planning a virtual Annual General Meeting and we'll need to have voting take place. Is it better then to use Teams Meeting format for that purpose so it's more interactive? We usually would have around 30-50 people attend an event physically in the building, but this year with going virtual instead it's hard to say how many will be interested in it. Potentially we have 400-500 families and community partners (we're a not for profit child care centre). Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
Hi, Kevin! Great tutorial - one question...before you click START for the live event, can you simply show a PowerPoint Slide that shows what the event is? It will normally say "Live Event has not yet started." If I share that info slide on the LIVE side (without starting the meeting), will attendees see that slide?
Great video thanks - Can you start a powerpoint on the same screen as the live event screen, I had to switch out and back - is there a way to make this smoother ?
Great tutorial. I did my first one today. Just one question. Where do I find the recording after I do the live event?
By the way this video was a great help
Hi Kevin, Thanks for the great presentation. Is it possible to put more content in the waiting queue so you can switch easy between e.g. different power point presentations or video's? Thanks
Thanks for sharing
Do I need to have enterprise version to use this function
Kevin, this content is extremely useful. Thanks so much for posting. Quick question. I am planning to develop a series of ON-DEMAND videos with multiple presenters for each. No live sessions at this time. Can I have multiple talking heads on the screen during the presentation?
Hi Kevin thank you for the video. Is there specific calendar that I should search for?
Love the channel I have subbed and do videos like yours
Thanks for the tutorial/. Do you know what the limit is in terms of number of watchers?
Thank you, really useful. In normal meetings, I can share my computers audio, is that possible in a live event?
