maybe for what you need. Some people are running incredibly high stress applications and games. Higher end software such as a 4090 and i9-14900k need to have higher speed ram. If they didn't we wouldn't have ddr5 ram in the first place.

Of course if you wanna do some editing and some other AI stuff or like run newer offline game like Elden Ring etc then you probably need this much ram but for most of the competitive games 16gb still does the job pretty well tbh
