How To Take NAC

My go-to for NAC Supplementation:
www.glutenfreesociety.org/sho...
NAC (N-acetylcysteine) is a versatile and supportive supplement with a low side effect profile. It is commonly taken orally, with the recommended dosage ranging from 500 to 2,500 milligrams per day. Most people tolerate doses of 1,000 to 1,500 milligrams well. Taking NAC on an empty stomach is ideal for better absorption, but it can cause stomach upset and nausea for some individuals.
The safety profile of NAC is generally great, with no major known toxicity levels in humans. However, caution should be exercised when taking higher doses for extended periods, and monitoring is recommended.

Spent 3 months in a coma 1999/2000 from kidney failure and pneumonia as I flooded my lungs with fluid. Caught legionaries at one of the hospitals I was in pre or during the coma (I'm not certain when exactly as it was all hazey then). Have been left with pulmonary fibrosis and now mild emphysema which has hindered my breathing capacity ever since the coma. My kidney transplant will be 22 years old this 27th of December. I discovered NAC a couple years ago and took it for a period of time, possibly 6 months or so, It really did help me breath better. I have recently only got back to taking NAC as the humidity rises here in Queensland Australia. I find the hotter humid air a lot harder to breath. The NAC does help, though I've found it isn't as effective as last time i used it.

I use NAC periodically in a nebulizer, and here is what I do. I put about a teaspoon of saline in the nebulizer cup and add approximately 1/2 ( one half) of the contents of a NAC capsule to the saline. This would be approximately 250-300 mg. of NAC. Mix this NAC/Saline solution real well. Then nebulize this for 5-10 minutes. You WILL cough for a little while which is very normal. You should find that the mucus secretions will thin out very nicely. Nebulize a few times a day if needed.@@chrispompano

Could you please comment on the differences between glutathione in the intravenous form versus oral NAC? There are IV hydration centers popping up all over the place and they offer glutathione in some of their “Menu” options in various hydration bags. I’m an allopathic doctor and aware of allopathic limitations. I’m curious to know your thoughts. Cheers.

When would it be advisable to take more? THIS is why I react poorly to NAC! Have been in one moldy place after another, you can’t write this stuff. Escape the mold only to end up in mold again. Mold will destroy your mood , mind and body. NEVER stay in a moldy place. If you’re genetically susceptible, you’ll potentially suffer for years with the mycotoxins recirculating in the bile without being excreted/ eliminated. I like NAC but I’m Wartung until I’m mold free again. Thank you.
