This video really helped me deal with some of my inner-demons! Especially when I said that line with "letting you go", it made me feel like I really let it go. Problem is that I have a mother that always makes me feel negative and my father hopes for my achievement, so what I need right now is a video on how to KEEP this pure and tranquil mindset that I was brought into right now. It would help exponentially! Thank you very much!

I stand alone, Heal yourself with determination. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety-stress. For a relaxed life sit on a chair, back erect, hands on lap with palms upwards, eyes closed, be still and observe your natural incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10 minutes or more. Be still as possible. Slowly negative thoughts will reduce and relax the mind. Patience is needed. During your daily activity keep observing your breath consciously. Do the above meditation daily to feel relaxed. Positive affirmations before sleep also reduces negative thoughts. Best wishes. Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

I have the exact same types of parents as you do. How I try to keep my sense of tranquility, self-confidence, mute the self-doubts and let go of the negative energy is: 1) To distant myself from my parents physically - not abandon them but just be courteous while living apart. 2) If unable to physically remove myself from their presence, then to mentally guard my energy by imagining I am a castle which is strong and steady. Enemies may surround the castle and throw stones at it but the Queen inside the castle knows she's built up a strong fort which protects her wellbeing. 3) Understand that parents can cheer themselves up and us children do not hold the responsibility to be their source of joy. We often want to live up to their expectations because we are afraid of hurting them or not bringing them pride. But it's time we become a little more selfish and ask ourselves why our parents are not serving us instead (not like servants but as cheerleaders). 4) Be confident and independent! Sometimes we allow parents to influence us so much because we tend to think what if I need a shoulder to cry on one day? What if I just need a hug to comfort me? It's those thoughts that make us rely on parents and allow their words to take weight in our hearts. A good parent will still love us unconditionally even if we do not listen to their nagging negative advices or living up to their expectations. We should get love from our parents simply because they are our parents (unconditional love, get it?) and not because we must do something or obey them fully to _earn_ their love. 5) Listen to more KZread videos like this consistently. We are lucky to be in this era where resources like these are free and varied. We just need to keep our mental and emotional spaces open for improvements and constantly absorbing the positive energy from others to recharge ourselves. Hope these thoughts will help you as I truly empathize because we share the same types of parents.

Summary: 1. Become aware of what you are thinking. 2. Acknowledge where these thoughts came from. (You were taught to think negatively.!) 3. Release and Shift! - Knowing my family. It was shockingly true! These days, I am working on this issue. One of my negative beliefs - Something bad is going to happen, which leads me usually to anxiety attack and paranoia. Just recently found this pattern. I am desperately trying to shift them by repeating my mantra (new way of thinking pattern and repeating them until I feel them for real). Thank you! Linda!~

Hi Linda, I hope you get to read this personally, I want to thank you because, what you said in this video really helped me when no one else could. I think of all the people who were kind of mean to me in a past or how my Mom died when I was 11 and I didn't have the structure that I needed, But I raised three children by myself. Now, they're all Adults and doing well. I broke my hip and then went in for a hip surgery came out with a knee surgery cuz they broke my leg and for a year now I have not been working. So all I do basically is feel sorry for myself and I constantly think of the past. Well, it's finally getting to me so I went to KZread and I put in How to Turn Negative Thoughts into Positive Thoughts. I went down the list trying to listen to people and could not understand what they were saying. I got to your video and You said Two Things that I totally understood and that was three days ago. You said Basically to say that I Acknowledge my Past. You didn't actually say Acknowledge but in a roundabout way you said acknowledge your past but I am Willing to be More Positive. That Totally Flipped Everything Around. I do not think of the past anymore it's almost like in a distant past.I don't get upset about it and now I'm looking towards my future. I am 49 years old and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Yours was the only video, the only person that I truly understood. Keep up the good work and I hope you get to read this personally.

I would say that the only time we think thatbwe are not good enough is when we try to be someone that we are not, and when we are already there, we cannot really perform the action that should be done. Slef acceptance is the key. Know what you can do and what you cannot do.

I found this video interesting However I disagree with the “who taught me negative thinking” Firstly because it could cause a person the lay blame on another. Secondly because it is often a lifetime of experiences that leads a person to feel negatively about themselves. Sure parents can play a role in this but so can friends, siblings, teachers etc etc. I honestly think saying someone taught me this is not taking responsibility for your own thoughts. It is OK to recognize damaging patterns but saying you were taught by those close to you is not always the case.

You know your mother f'd you up when you break down crying 8 times writing down that sentence, only to realize you wrote "I feel worthless and not good enough but I know deep down that it's actually true" and reach for the eraser in horror only to realize you actually wrote it right all along.. I had to read it like 10 times to be sure. Thanks mom :'( She praised my intelligence telling me I was going to be a great scientist one day, then mentally and physically abused me, and then abandoned me when I was 9. I've been depressed my whole life but I'm holding onto hope that I can still enjoy what's left of it. If anyone has any tips or wisdom to add to this video, I'd really appreciate it, I need all the help I can get

Corinna, Relax your mind. Heal yourself with determination. Best wishes. Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

On average u produce 50 000 thoughts a day which only contain 10 000 positive ones. It's ok to reflect your negative thinking but you will never get rid of it. However it helps to just hold on to the positive ones and ignore the negative or again reflect and think about why you think that and if it's necessary.
