    Aren't we allowed to have babies and nurture them atleast in their initial years, 4 to 6 years while I had 2 kids? It seems recruiters/professionals just popped out from somewhere and don't understand the concept of 'family'. They must talk to their moms and ask how is it to raise 2 kids on their own without any help ALL ALONE. I am having a hard time justifying the gap. No matter how well I did academically or during my job before the kids, now I am totally useless for them just because I decided to have babies and nuture them when they needed me the most.

    I dropped out of school like 2 yrs ago when i was 15. I just turned 17 a month ago and trying to get a job but i have major health issues and social anxiety from isolating myself from reality for the past 2 years of doing absolutely NOTHING at all. Just constantly sitting there in my bedroom playing videos games every single day. Im scared to go outside to even try to communicate with anyone because of how bad my social skills have become, i have honeslty become a failure and i regret it the most and me isolating myself has fkd up my mental health but now i realize that i need to take my life seriously.

    I don't explain them. I tell them why and if they don't like it then it's their loss. At the end of the day I don't control how long I stay at an employer because the last times the separations have not been on my terms (layoff). I tell them, I was laid off due to a restructure or the contract ended and leave it at that. I don't explain myself. I'm not lying. A company can terminate an employee's job and cause a job gap but yet somehow that's a problem for the new firm?

    1. Know what that job and industry is looking for 2. Find/built the bridge from where you are to what you want. 3. Make a record of your transferable skills/experiences. 4. Stay on the lookout for new postings/openings/opportunities. 5. Make sure you tailor your resume strategically

    Not only did I fully research the company I also was prepared to discuss how my skill set meets the needs of that company and how I can potentially bring the company to the next level. I brought notes. That is totally acceptable. I also developed engaging questions regarding the company and then questioning about my potential role.

    My gap in work/resume is due to my age. I am low 60's in age but can't seem to get hired for positions in management that I know I am very qualified for. In fact, I had 3 online interviews for one company and they were so excited to see me in person, that the hiring manager went out of his way to travel from Dallas to IL for our interview. When we met, his impression was not as enthusiastic as he was on the phone. Made me feel terrible that my age did seem to matter. Sadly I never heard back from them other than the dreaded email stating we are going with a different candidate (I was one of two). But I did see the other candidate as I was walking out and he looked late 40's, early 50's. Very sad indeed as I was hoping to work another 10 years. I have been out of work for 9 months, been on several qualifying management roles and nothing.

    I got moved at work while I was going through a lot with my best friend of 18 years and her suffering really badly with mental health. A few weeks into this job she committed suicide. I had some time off to deal with things, but tried to make things as normal as possible for them, but they ignore me and pretend I'm not there. If there having conversation about how slim someone is, they never mention anything about how I look, I'm 4ft 11 inches and weigh 49kg, but they've not recognized it on me, but they comment on others being small or slim I'm confused

    Getting laid off is easy to answer, but getting fired is not. There are so many companies that automatically disqualify you if you say that you were let go for performance issues. They don't care if you put a positive spin to the unfortunate circumstance, and will still label you as a bad employee. I think this video gives good advice, but a lot of employers are hypocritical about honesty when they lie to employees all the time.

    Bringing to attention these things that the person might not have been aware if their entire life is not going to help. This requires a bunch of psychotherapy hours and still not guaranteed/ so what this ew doing is exactly blaming people that they are being targeted at work

    I spent over 6 years at a job around people like this. Never again! I have a new, wonderful job that I'm so happy to have, and I've even worked my way up in very little time, but unfortunately, an employee who I thought was my friend has done nothing but gossip and lie about me. WE literally just got this job and she's jealous af and it's soooo obvious! Also, it doesn't help that she's kinda looney tunes, which my boss and coworkers have all noticed. She's put her foot in her mouth multiple times, ready, so I'm just sitting back and letting her dig her own grave. I WILL just use it as motivation, and she can stay miserable and continue taking no accountability for her actions and destroy herself. Sorry. Not sorry.

    Indtead of assigning blame to people being targeted by toxic people, why don't you ask the person who's toxic to get a grip grow up and stop scalegoating others because of their own jealousy insecurities. Put the focus on them.

  • @nancydrew5
    @nancydrew518 күн бұрын

    This advice was is BS. It switches accountability from the toxic person towards the victim of their toxicity. It is not my responsibility to understand a coworker's reason for acting out their toxicity in the workplace. It's that person's job to get themselves together and act like a mature adult. I'm not their therapist. Also regardless of how someone " feels", that doesn't mean they take their feelings out on others. This video missed the mark and blames the victim. FAIL!
