How to Render 1080p Video in Movie Studio Platinum 13

Using Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13, I show two different ways you can render 1080p HD video using Mainconcept AVC/AAC or Sony AVC/MVC. I also show how to use the new Proxy Video Creation tool, which helps to reduce & eliminate playback lag in the Preview Window.

    ***** If you did not match your media settings and used a different frame rate to what you recorded with, that can make playback jump around. I guess you recorded at 60fps. If you did, you should watch my tutorial for rendering to higher frame rates. If you are capturing gameplay that is jumping all around, this is very difficult to encode for KZread. Use much higher Bit Rate settings, however this will also produce much higher file sizes.

    So we used our GoPro and I did what yo suggested and converted into .avi that is in GoPro software then I transfered to Sony. I'm still having same problem as my last 2 videos(not gopro) Where it is laggy. I tried doing proxy but it stopped at 94%. IS there a way to find my video BEFORE I rendered it? Once it rendered it became laggy even though I used 1080 and followed directions. I have all the setting you mention in this video. What other options do I have. If you look at last 2 video you see what I mean. I don't want to put up another video looking like this. I m so frustrated and sad I can't fix this. I don't know what else to do. Any other ideas? I'm sorry I'm such a pain but it's just not working for me :( THank you. Melody

    1. Where did your original source video come from ? If it came from a mobile phone, that would be the cause of the problem and I can tell you how to fix that. 2. If you rendered the video with a "crazy high" Bit Rate, that can also cause this problem. If you need further help, I recommend you post your problem on my forum here: www.moviestudiozen.com/forum/index

    How do you set the default folder that the video will render to. I created one project where I have it Rendering to a specific folder, while a number of my other projects render to a subfolder within the folder where the project file is saved, but I don't remember how I configured it to render to that specific folder.

  • @SbgamingTv

    @SbgamingTv

    ***** That's rather odd behavior, but it did work. For some of those projects I was indeed setting the output folder in the first window as well as the second folder, but apparently for that one project I hadn't, and therefore had no need to change it in future episodes in the series where I "save as'd" the previous project file to create a copy of the new one... It'd be nice if this was just simply a default output option where if you wanted to you could just specify as desired location where you want files to be rendered to, if you don't want to use the programs default location. I've done about 30 videos in the last two weeks and I've had this issue on about half of those videos, so it was getting rather irritating that I had to change the location for those videos where it wasn't outputting to the usual folder. Thanks for the help.

    I know that you made video similar to this one for Vegas, but could you please make short tutorial about how to render game clips? I did not know that simply disable resampling makes clips look way better. Keep aspect ratio or not? Most capture cards record 1080 in 30 fps, I have just seen another "tutorial" with advice to make it 59.94? Etc etc. Thanks in advance.

I was wondering, can I create a video with a 720p cam video and a 1080p background video (a game) rendered at 1080p for KZread? What kind of result will this combination give me? Thus, two videos on the time line. One 720p, one 1080p, simultaneously. What will happen? Thanks again, Kammellion

    Ah yes, I always render in 60fps. I can put my facecam to record on 480p, 720p or 1080p. The higher the setting, the less fps I get. But I still want the quality of my facecam to match the main, background video (of the game itself).

    Hey man! I have this weird problem with two frames merging into one. There is the regular frame but it looks like it has the previous frame laid over it with a lower opacity. This happens in a high-motion scene and isn't in the original footage or preview. I'm rendering to 720p 30fps(NTSC) from 720p 60fps(NTSC) with the rest of the settings being the same as yours.

    Very good. More options than I needed at end, but you are very good. Thanks !! I'm still not sure what is best to render to make a DVD w/ Nature Scenes (I'm in usa). But, one step at a time!! My GF is Sydney.... where are you?

    I have a bunch of gopro footage I won't be editing until sometime in the future. in order to save space what would be a good format to cut them down to? some are recorded using protune.

    Quick question. I've used both those settings you mentioned to use, but noticed when rendering my video game gameplay that during fast moving scenes the picture is blurry. It is in 1080p, but still blurry. Anyway to fix this? Thanks.

    Great tutorial. If only KZread wouldn't mess with the quality of my files. It looks much worse after YT processing. :(
