Don't forget to set Sony Vegas' priority to "high" within your task manager. (Open task manger, right click the Sony Vegas icon, and tab down to "priority") If you're primarily using Vegas when editing (not browsing the web or using other programs) while editing, you can leave the priority "high" throughout the process. If not, make sure to set the priority right before rendering. Great video and thanks for the tips!

Thanks for your quick reply ! :) My storage for all my original camcorder video files are external HDDs (3TB) only connected to my PC when I need to copy them to my internal drive for a video project. Your advice with rendering and writing on two HDDs really makes sense, plus it avoids quick abrasion of the HDD and supports longer function. So - in near future I will buy two SSD´s, re-install win 7 and Sony Vegas and will let you know, if the old HDD´s were the bottlenecks in my proper system.

HItfilm 2 Express and Hitfilm 2 Ultimate are both amazing programs. Express is what comes with the Visual Effects Suite. This is the only thing different between MSP12 Suite and MSP12 Visual Fx Suite. At the moment I am learning Hitfilm 2 Ultimate. Cheapest way for you to upgrade is to buy the "Upgrade" via Sony Creative Software - go to Purchase-Upgrades. In the meantime you can download the free trial for Hitfilm 2 Express and begin learning.

In version 12 of Movie Studio Platinum, all the main Internet rendering templates were moved to Mainconcept AVC/AAC .mp4 - so you are doing the right thing. Sony AVC/MVC templates where added to version 12 during one of the free Build Updates. The latest Build Number is now #1184. So make sure you update. New templates are limited, so remember you can press Customize to change Frame Rates and other settings.

Hi i have a question please , i have GTX 970m "Laptop" and i used to render the same way you just mentioned in sony vegas pro 13 , i wanted to speed the rendering a lil bit , but i have some issues : 1st : in the customization tab , i see 3 options , OpenCL, Cuda or CPU , i don't know wich one is working for me but i tried both and it's the same result . 2nd : in the preferences tab (video) i turned that off , because Vegas keeps crashing when i'm editing or rendering , there was a tutorial that recommended turning that off and it actually worked and Vegas never crashes anymore . do you have any idea how i can use these settings , speed up the rendering a bit and never get sony vegas to crash during editing or rendering because i lose a lots of projects , thank you sir

Hey Derek! I really like the tutorials you´re doin' for Sony Vegas. Big respect for that ! I still have a question concerning speed up rendering times: I have a quick quad core CPU, not that much RAM [4GB] and render 1080/50p videos. Working with Vegas is good, but it could be quicker, especially in rendering. The problem is, my HDD´s are very old and slow, so I like to upgrade to 2 SSD drives. Do you know if this will speed up rendering or is this also limited by vegas like it limits the CPU?
