Every time I rendee a video it will show the file format at beginning of video for example animals.mp4. How can I stop that. I don’t want to see the .mp4.

I'm playing with render settings as my video's always look soft on youtube, they look fine on my local preview. How long should I expect rendering to take, I have a pretty decent spec i7 quad core 12Gb RAM PC, and generally on my old settings Sony AVC 16kbps constant would render roughly same time as video length, changing to these settings mainconcept 2 pass variable 12-24kbps a 10 min video was looking to take almost an hour to render ? Am I unrealistic to feel this is far too long ?

OK, I've set my Vegas up as you suggest, but shouldn't the project settings match the media you are using? So, if my camera operates at 30fps shouldn't I maintain that?

Absolutely. the options should be set up for your source material 30 for US, 25 for most of Europe

Vision and Technology Ah, that's what was confusing me. This is about the source as well as the render? I didn't pick up on that, but it makes perfect sense. Thanks!

On Movie Studio 14, there's an issue at the "variable bit rate, two pass" portion. There's no option for that on Movie Studio 14... however there is a slider that says "splice" and goes from 1-3. I'm not sure if that correlates.

Are you sure? Im looking at make Move >Save to hard drive >MP4> Advanced options> MainConcept AVC/AAC > Customise template > That screen has constant and variable bit rate options and a tick box for two pass. (obviously 2 pass would be pointles on constant bit rate) Check it out

Why 25fps? Surely 30 is better? Also, what would bt he detriment of using 44k instead of 48k? Another great video though. I'm just going to go and alter my settings in Vegas!

25 becuase im in Europe and that saves any confusion (also stops some 'phasing' when I shoot in artificial lighting). 44k or 48k? unless your a bat with a super hi-fi system, I suspect it would be difficult to catch any difference.

Vision and Technology I tend to use 48k now because that's the default for most things, but I'm old fashioned enough to begrudge the bandwidth!

Thx for the tutorial! Have a question, I had sony vegas pro 13 which did not have auto fixation when blurring movies object so i had to do it manually. Does this one have an automatic blurring option? Also, will this software work with windows 10? Thanks again! *+* 👍

Not sure what the caue of your blurring is. Is it already on your source video, or is the source clean and you get some bluring after rendering? I do'nt think Vegas studio 14 has any new features over 13 pro. Ye s it works fine on W10

Hello Dad Frost :) Any plans to do how-to videos on some other editing software like DaVinci Resolve?

Love the 'Dad'. Resolve is a bit out of the league of most 'lower cost' users, so its a bit out of my brief. I do work with many of the broadcast suppliers, so going up market to Blackmagic and the like isn't totally out of the question, but not quite yet.

I'd say most of the differences between your test renders (good vs ultimate) are in color fidelity (the reds are more red, etc). But, as you hinted at, KZread sort of does some more work to any videos you upload (as far as I know anyway), so it's hard to say. As to your mention of why NTSC is 29.97 fps, here's an interesting video on that very subject: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZXt-t69voKbWldo.html (less than 15 minutes long). Thanks for the video! JW3HH
