Award winning artist Ginger Cook...
is recognized for her exceptional balance of color and light. She intertwines the bold strokes of thick impasto with softly layered translucent washes. The use of natural stucco and the combination of multiple layers of different media present the viewer with a three dimensional work. The Ginger Cook style of painting is both fresh and innovative.
She delights the viewers with her for unique painting style and mastery of color and is held in high esteem by many major manufactures of fine art acrylic paint in the world.
In 1997, she received 4-winning first place awards and the overall Grand Prize win of Liquitex “Paint a Difference Competition", an open call to acrylic artist across the world to submit artwork that represented the best of Acrylic Painting. Liquitex subsequently featured her as a Master Acrylic Artist, with a show of her paintings at the National Academy of Design in New York City.
Utrecht acrylics paid her the complement of a full page ad featuring their paint and her artwork in Artist Magazine the following year.
2007 Chroma Online Acrylic Paint of Australia have asked her to test then newest product and subsequently represent it to various art groups and university students in her Southwest Region of the United States.

You're right, Ginger. It does come up 'live' before you think, and we get to hear some very amusing comments or conversations before the 'Live button' obviously shows up. But it just adds to the fun, and I, for one, love how casual and candid this show is.

I am learning so much .... and laughing the whole time. incidentally Ginger, you are right you are live before the live button shows you live... but I have to admit I have come to look forward to the PRESHOW SHOW as much as the actually show.... I cannot thank you enough for passing along your knowledge. There are several people in my circle who have lost loved ones. I have been taking what I learn from you, inviting those ladies over for lunch and paint time and passing along what I am learning from you. Watching their hearts find a little touch of joy again is so very awesome and you have unknowingly played a big part in that as well.. You have such a beautiful heart for sharing Thank you both!!

Thank you very much Billy. The trick of any painting, dark or not is to have the right balance of light. Every once in awhile take a black and white photo of your work and make sure you have good contrast and not jus t over all gray tones.

on about translating what you are seeing, I was in the supermarket today and as we were paying for our groceries I noticed two women packing there groceries they had already paid for into different bags etc, over by the window where there is a sort of shelf for people who still have to sort their shopping out even when they have paid for it. So I was watching these women and near them was a clear plastic tub full of mixed sweets, (candy to you USA citizens) both women left and I said to the girl serving us at the cash register, someone's forgotten their tub of sweets and pointed to the tub. She smiled at me and said, that's not sweets it's a tub to dispense used batteries for customers :) lol. I think I need to wear glasses.
