    Ginger, I just wanted to tell you how fun this painting was to do! I learned so much about mixing colors and achieving depth. It's only my sixth or seventh painting, but the results were amazing. I won't be ashamed to have it framed and hung in the living room. Many thanks!

    Awesome evening with you two! I love the painting. van Gough is my favorite artist. I think because he reminds me quite a bit of Beethoven ( my favorite composer in classical music), who also suffered from mental illness. The art and music created by these guys I think perfectly represent their lives. They were both brilliant artist. See ya Sunday!

    awww loved this lesson, as I love Vincent. his work was amazing I think. He had an amazing brain, how he saw colours, his environment around him , just a shame he didn't live longer to see more!! as I'm sure he would have made it without having to die so young!! I could talk about his work all day lol. your great ginger and jon love you guys. thank you for fixing the white acrylic paint mess in the end! it is scary to mess up towards the end of a painting. I am always afraid of ruining it. as for the bread... I discovered this accidentally too and stopped buying any kind of bread that doesn't mold after a couple of days out on my kitchen counter!

  • @gingercooklive

    @gingercooklive

    We have been having fun with the bread...As long as you dry between layers of paint you really can't mess anything up. Think of drying as a "SAVE AS" feature with acrylics.

    I have finally finished watching your Van Gogh's "Wild Roses" for the second time, and I have to agree with Jon, I do love your version more than VG's also. Thank you for an inspiring tutorial!! So if I am correct, you did not use the burnt umber and only a small dab of the magenta, correct?? I have my orange backgrounds drying, now to recreate the split pea soup color. Have a Suntastic Sunday!

    If you stick with about 4 main brands of professional acrylics like Golden or Matisse and buy the main colors we use in every video you should be in good shape. cad red medium, dioxazine purple, cad yellow medium, yellow oxide, titanium white, zinc white or mixing white, ultramarine blue, phthalo blue, burnt sienna, burnt umber. and watch my video on color mixing you should be fine,
