Love love !!! 😍😍😍😍
Very interesting painting and what an offer on KZread! Thanks Ginger and Jon
Glad you enjoyed it
I saw on your academy you have some portraits- I love the gray scale hands. Would you ever do a gray scale portrait?
possible in the academY our view on KZread need thumb nails that catch the eye with lots of color.
I love love love this lesson and Edward Hopper! The Nighthawks is always been a favorite of mine...I can't wait to paint this "inspired by" painting! Thank you for going back to basics and showing the tracing and the puzzle concept of doing this type of painting...it was awesome! You tow are the best!!!
Thanks so much, your support and kind comments mean a lot. Art hugs from Jon and me.
I love this. Thanks!!
Glad you like it!
This one is definitely on my to do list. Thank you Ginger and Jon for sharing. Eward Hopper has always been a favorite of mine but i was never sure how to attempt trying one like his.
Hope you enjoy it! Happy Art Hugs (HAH) from Jon and me.
Really really enjoyed this! I haven't done a Ginger painting in forever and when I saw this come up in my feed I HAD TO! Years ago I used to do the landscapes in your academy but I left b/c I wanted to learn portraits. I remember you had called portraiture the "brain surgery of painting" 😂 so I took some years to learn brain surgery! Loved your landscapes but went in the direction of portraits and pen/ink illustration. I am going through a kitties/doggies/birds stage right now 😄In other words- do more of this kind of paintings- I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way you use color ❤
and now we offer Portraits and people exclusively for our purple Members. www.acrylicpaintingwithgingercook.com/courses/bohemian-artist-introduction/
@@gingercookliveOh Wowie! When you told me my portrait was unfixable and portraits were the “brain surgery” of painting it inspired me. I believe that might have been 2015 or 2016! I have studied portraiture since then- oil and acrylic but I cannot seem to get loose watercolor portraits where I want them. Can you tell me what you’re doing in portraits and what are purple members? Can I check it out?
@@gingercookliveclicked on the link- is there a way to get in and check it out before I decide if it’s what I want?
This is really cool! Ginger, once again you've expanded my thoughts on what style(s) I like.
Awesome! Thank you!
This is one great lesson!
Hey thanks for the positive comment and appreciate the feedback.
Hi Ginger , i just love all your paintings , thank you for teaching us .
You are so welcome Jon and I hope you have fun with this.
Wow Ginger, you packed so much into this evening’s painting; it was like watching a puzzle come to life. There is so much to learn from ODG's; I'm so glad you have given us so many opportunities to discover how they used paint to create art, and now using that knowledge we can create our own art. Thank you Ginger, Jon, and all of the Stuffy Staff for all you do in creating, teaching, and challenging us to become better artists. HAH 🎨🖌🫶
Happy Art Hugs (HAH) from Jon and me. Thanks for the nice of you to be encouraging. we really appreciate it.
LOVE it!!!
Jon and I hope you have fun with this.

This is so neat. Thank you for showing us. I don’t think I could tackle this, as I’m just a green member. Thank you so very much for adding the beagle pic to be downloaded for the green members! I will be painting this! I love beagles! I had two when I lived in the country. Layla and Taylor. ❤️
You can learn a lot by watching. To get the traceable you need to sign up as an orange member. To get help with this and personal art coaching taylored just for you, you need to be a Red or Purple member. www.paintingwithginger.com

Glad it was helpful!
Jon- I love the newest tutorial button. Ginger how about a little companion painting to go with the work shop dog.
thank you, and Happy Art Hugs (HAH) from Jon and me.
I cannot believe the variety of paintings that you bring to us. Each week is a new learning experience of the style, medium and tool used. I love the way that you teach us so much. There is no better place to learn than from you. Either in You Tube lessons or the Ginger Cook Academy. Ginger, you are the best teacher out there. Jon is such an amazing tech person and he is so helpful to us whenever we need him. Thank you both so much!
Thanks so much, your support and kind comments mean a lot. Art hugs from Jon and me.
Fantastic, tutorial, it was Not too long we all stayed and were thankful. So much new to learn with this style of painting. Sorry no more ODG but love the ones on your acedemy in which is off the charts affordable for all. Can't wait for the auction marathon. Thank you, Ginger, Jon, Mods, and team!!! See you next week
ODGs will be in the Academy, and versions of them.
This was an awesome lesson and I look forward to giving it a go! You are an amazing teacher and I know I would not be where I am as an artist without you and your Academy.

I listened to the replay while I cleaned up my studio. I love the technique in this painting. The emotion is obvious. Im always feeling emotions these days so I keep away from triggers but love the colors and you can always learn something....and Ginger your stories are the best!
Thanks for sharing!!
Now I know why he's depressed

Why is your conversation and concern about people not liking this painting? This art is REAL! Many of us paint our pain and it's difficult to find tutorials like this that help us do that. Life isn't all flowers and bunnies. ✌️❤️🎨
thank you very much fro saying that. During Covid I did a few of these type of painting on KZread and in the Academy. Here is one you might like: kzread.infoJN9gX8gOT-8
Thank you! Unfortunately, it says the link is private.
Beautiful and perfect for me rn. I feel this in my grief.
thank you and I wish you better times ahead.
I had such a relaxing time painting this piece. Didn’t come out identical to this but I had fun doing a little bit of my own thing.
Yes and Yes I am so glad you liked it.
Hi Ginger! Hi Jon! So far, I've watched this tutorial 3 times. I feel almost ready to dive in. I have a canvas 80 x80 cm just begging for a good story...this is a great story. If somewhat successful, I'll post on your fb. 😂 Thanks for all you both do. You are gems!❤ -maggie
I look forward to seeing it. That is a great size to do it.
The black frame is super ♥
Yes frames really make a difference and set the mood too.
Thanks again!! - Elizabeth D.
Hey thanks for the positive comment and appreciate the feedback.
Really like this one and also the one coming up can’t wait thanks ginger ❤️❤️❤️
Yay! Thank you!
This is very interesting. It’s amazing what a great job you did on your rendition of the original. I’m really drawn to light in paintings…very pretty. Happy that you did such a different piece from your usual. It’s always interesting watching it all come together. Thanks for doing what you do! Love and best wishes to you and Jon. 😊
Thanks so much, your support and kind comments mean a lot. Art hugs from Jon and me.
@@gingercooklive Ah don’t pay me any mind. Lol. I Watch your tutorials almost constantly since I found you and “my Sherpa” haha. I’m either watching hers or yours, and I try to always comment on the tutorials cuz I feel like it’s important for you fine artists to get feedback. ❤️
I enjoyed watching you paint this, I love watching you paint everything but I really miss your ODG paintings you used to do. Seems it is a lot of AI and pallet knife paintings, but I get that is what the younger crowd is in to right now. I do love what is coming up for red members. Thank you for all you do for us and teaching us so many ways to paint.
We have a lot of the Old master works for our red and purple members on the website. Lots of our wave and water are ODGs too. We just do not get many views for these on KZread as people percieve them to be too difficult. Also I have done most of the "easy ones " I could find. but as a red member you can sure pick an ODG on your own and send it in for help and personal art coaching. www.paintingwithginger.com and here is where you find listings for the ODGs. www.acrylicpaintingwithgingercook.com/old-masters-odg-subcategory-list/
Andrew Solomon once said "half the purpose of art is to describe such iconic states." He further said Emily Dickinson was able to convey it in language and Francisco Goya in his Black Paintings where he illustrated his empty outlook on mortals. Art in any form would be useless if it didn't speak to anyone. You are a Master Artist Ginger! You have touched so many subjects in life from joy to sadness! Your Art has given me a voice!
thank you so much. I know we cannot please everyone, but I do try to offer a different way each week to build on existing art skills and help people discover their own artistic voice.
Wow Ginger! Thank you for painting this. No unsub here… I love it! It’s recording the times and emotions of our surroundings at this time… Isn’t that what some art is about & for?? History. Recordings to change our thinking of the harder times… And seeing a future in a better place. I love how you see and paint the under layers of color as you paint. You’re awesome at teaching the feeling of…❤️🥰
Thanks so much, your support and kind comments mean a lot. Art hugs from Jon and me.
WOW I really enjoyed this painting. So very emotional & thought provoking. Each half could be painted on seperate canvases and displayed together. I'm a little confused about the floor? beach? on the buttom left... but that's what makes it thought provoking... Very Cool! When I saw the sneak preview posted in the afternoon I was expecting more palette knife but You got that look with brushwork & magic WOW WOW Love It! I will try to work one into my "to do" list. Summer / Garden season takes all my free time to paint. Thank you for all you do.
I think it would look amazing larger too. Thanks for the kind and supportive words.
love your works❤
Thank you so much 😀 Happy Art Hugs (HAH) from Jon and me.
