How to Loosen a Stiff Neck in SECONDS

Dr. Rowe shows how to instantly loosen and relieve a stiff, achy neck.
This is especially good for people that can't bend, turn, or move their neck without sharp or severe pain (think waking up with a kink in the neck after sleeping badly).
To make it easy, the video will be broken up into different movements so you can quickly target the ones that you need the most.
All of the exercises can be done at home, require no special equipment, and may help relieve a stiff neck within 30 seconds.
Let us know which exercise worked best for you!

The one that works best for me is that I take both arms behind my neck with the wrists outside the pivotal bone and lift up and look up and wiggling my wrists just under the hard points of the skull and then rotate and wiggling my neck in the process of all this for decompression. Thanks for sharing all this important information and I am trying this right now 😀 👍

I finally figured out what a passive stretch is! Today was the day for me to get it. After watching and listening to you here, I began to understand what makes it passive is that the muscle is not moving on its own; it's being moved, by something else. Got it! :)

The "spoon treatment" that Dr. Rowe describing is actually an ancient treatment that the Vietnamese have been using for centuries, called "coining". It is one heck of a effective treatment to combat stiff neck or sore muscle or body ache. For better result, they use medicated oil such as tiger balm or any available topical cream to rub on the affected area, then use a quarter coin or spoon to scratch in the same downward fashion with a steady & comfortable force until the skin gets red. Notice how the skin gets darker when the pain is more severe. Be careful not to over scratch or the skin can break and bleed. This method would work best if followed with steaming therapy.

Am I pleased! Thank you Dr Rowe.

Thank you! I'm still learning, but so far, so good. Your explanations are easy to follow, and your "cautions" are appreciated. I can't afford my chiropractor anymore. Plus, I moved 30 minutes farther away. Chronic stress from caring for elderly loved one with dementia plus related financial struggles mean neck, shoulder & upper back pain, knots, and pinched nerves. Sometimes I get a shooting pain or the pain is accompanied by nausea. I've been able to get some relief watching your videos and am sure with more time and practice, it'll get even better . Thank you for this valuable service you are providing.

Hi doctor, I find this video very helpful. I am a 63 years of age female with plenty of problems around the spine and specifically in neck area where I had a double c-fusion (more problematic on the right side). I will try most of the stretches recommended by you and I’m almost certain that they will be useful to me. I may add to those one more additional move utilizing the spoon - that of slowly running it along the soles of the feet and may be over the problematic areas, where it hurts the most, in order to “demagnetize” the body. Thankfully yours: Savka

Just wanted to say thank you for making this video. I woke up with a really bad neck spasm the other day and it had progressively gotten worse since. I’m pregnant so I obviously wanted to avoid any pain medication. I tried massaging it but it only helped for a second before the pain came back. I tried your spoon-technique today (but with a guasha instead) and for the first time in days I’m finally able to move around without pain. It’s still a little sore but not nearly as bad as when I woke up this morning. So thank you so much for posting this video. It’s a huge help.🙏🏻

The spoon technique did it for me! I woke up with the worst stiff painful neck. Tried massage, but couldn’t fight the pain. That is until I came across your video with the spoon technique! That made is so much better ! I have better movement and the pain is reduced significantly. Thanks Doc !

I have had upper back and neck pain for 35 years, but am always learning new techniques to manage it. The trick with using a towel (11.30) is really clever thankyou! - this means I can now sometimes adjust my neck when it's jammed whereas stretching laterally without the towel wouldn't quite get it to release. Great tip thankyou!

Well, my friend, you've done it again. So glad I subscribed to this channel because you helped me SO much once again. First time was with getting my ears to pop (method #4) and now this! Thank you so much, I wish there was a way to visit your chiropractic clinic in person, you should go on tour! heh
