Hogwash. The best, strongest and toughest manual transmissions are, in no particular order Ford Top Loader Chrysler A-833 GM Muncie rock crusher. PERIOD This is my 50th year in automotive repair including transmissions....I know what Im talking about.

@@donreinke5863 4 gears is too little IMO. I would need minimum 5, but 6 is way better because the gear rations are very close and you get very consistent nearly identical RPM drops in every gear change.

This is the perfect install video. I don't have a Mustang and I enjoyed every second of it

This was the most amazingly narrated, comprehensive, and well-shot how-to video I have ever seen. No music, no BS. Just a dude, some tools and his car. I don’t even own a Mustang nor do I ever search changing out a transmission. Thank for this, KZread algorithm.

Absolutely fantastic video... the tons of work you must have done planning, capturing, and editing are all evident here. I also really appreciate how you do this with handtools and a QJ. As a fellow "driveways and jackstands" guy, this is underrepresented in today's youtuber's who all have shops and lifts and sponsors. Finally, as an S550 guy, this is an awesome blueprint should I ever need it to swap out my MT82. Bravo!

Now I know how to swapa t56 into a mustang. That 3 valve shifting at 7k is just incredible to hear.

Lowkey this is the kind of content that makes somebody more comfortable with working on a vehicle, at any capacity.

I don't have a car with a manual transmission (yet), but here I am, watching another car video at 8 in the morning. This is one of the best instructional videos that I have ever seen. Big ups.

I recently recieved my t56 magnum x l and had questions this video helped allot !

Even though I have no plans in the immediate future of doing a T56 swap or use it in anything, but it's nice to see a step by step in how to do this! Not many people would actually document let alone film it and do it with the torque specs and procedures.

These videos are awesome. I've been building my s197 for about 6 years now. It's come a long ways. These videos have helped me out alot! Keep up the good work. Always look forward to you posting about your mustang.

Great tutorial man. A lot of tutorials touch on the important information but would leave out a lot of the little things a beginner would question. You touched on everything...some might suggest using medium locktite on a lot of the hardware to be sure it doesn't vibrate loose. This is a tutorial done the right way.

I'm amazed at how thorough you were with everything. Great lighting, camerawork and voiceover too. This is the pinnacle of automotive DIY videos.

Well. This was the absolute best instructional video in the realm of mechanics I've ever watched. Respect brudda

You deserve more credit for this video. Haven’t really decided what I want to do yet. I have a 06 gt with a procharger so I was thinking of just doing the engine and trans together so getting an 8 bolt crank and then doing a 6060 but if I do it separately and do the engine first but still want to use the stock trans for a bit then I can just do a t56 swap when needed. Thanks for the info!!

I absolutely love your gear shifting in the end. It almost felt like flat foot shifting.

As always, some of the BEST automotive content on KZread. The production quality is insanity. What camera do you use? This inspires me to kick my butt into gear and upgrade my content - big time.

I've never even seen a Mustang up close so I have no idea why I'm watching this, but damn they look pretty easy to work on compared to other modern cars. Seems as simple as my Miata, kudos to the engineers. Edit: except the tuning the torque management part, that pretty alien to me.

I don't really know about cars but man i really love how you explain things big respect for you!!

The level of craftmanship & ingenuity combined with high-quality video content is beyond reproach!!!

This is the most straight forward, well shot, no bullshit transmission swap video. Great job!

Best transmission install video i have seen with basically a floor jack. Crazy how everything was so clean, like from start to finish your hands were clean the whole time 😂

Best “how to” I have ever seen. I love how you showed the smallest details, like the clip on the lines.

I did this swap on my Supra and have to say, MAD respect for being able to film the entire process. Holy crap that must have been a ton of work. Great Video! Also, I was able to stack my Quickjack rubber blocks to get enough clearance to slide the T-56 with a transmission jack under the car easily. It was initially too low to put both blocks at the same time, so I lifted the car up, put rhino ramps under all 4 wheels, lowered it added the extra blocks. It's really stable and saves you tons more clearance.

Great video. Cinematography and commentary were on point. Can’t wait to see what it’s like with a turbo!

I built my 34 Ford Hot Rod around a Tremec TKO 600 five speed and I totally love it.

Good choice going with the 2.66 first gear option, a lot of people get stuck on the numerically higher gears and wind up putting down too much power with too high first and differential gear, basically makes first gear totally worthless. Doesn't help that OEMs have done the opposite, they have a high final drive and first gear is low as hell, 4x or better. Looking forward to your projects.

Thank you so much for this video! Definitely the most in depth video I've found covering this installation process. The timing is fortuitous as I actually have a Magnum XL conversion kit for my 2018 Mustang GT on order from JPC Racing right now. JPC also arranged to supply a face plate (dog engagement) converted Magnum from Liberty's Gears over the standard one, which will allow me to make super fast shifts. Your video has me so pumped to get this conversion done!

Hey it's Dugger, this was an amazing step by step installation. I get impressed more and more with every video on the Mustang. Every single video you upload is spot-the-fuck-on! I just recently sold my red 06 GT and bought a sterling gray 13 GT, but I still am just as, and now even more excited to see the turbo kit installation and test drive. I absolutely dig everything about your Mustang build and progress. And I will be here til the end. You are the absolute best at doing these vids on the S197 '05-'09 Mustang platform, hands down. Now to my question that's been making me nuts for a CPL years now eheheheheh, will you be putting the car up for sale for more funding for your other projects? Don't yell at me lol, because I know you will have completed the ultimate mustang gt and will probably be keeping this amazing trophy car. But I just had to ask ok? And if so I'm first at the car!!!! Anyway lol, KUDOS brother mustang lover, you are doing great things. Keep the vids coming!!!!

Been here before doing an entire driveline refresh for my old C5 Z06 race car. Yes, those plastic alignment dowels are garbage, and I always had issues reinserting the torque tube input shaft into the clutch/engine (the Vette is a rear transaxle, so there's an "torque tube" that runs to the back transaxle setup).

I got that second hand satisfaction when i saw all the new parts together finally installed, nothing beats that feeling.

I’m installing a T56 onto an LS3 and couldn’t find any documentation. I’m a layman and this video is exactly what I needed and contained more info than I could have imagined while being concise and to the point. I can complete the job tonight now. Cheers man!!! Subbed.

How so? It’s a great shiftings trans. Holds decent power. No small inexpensive trans will last with sticky tires and a heavy clutch.

Word of advice from a mechanic, ALWAYS replace the rear main seal, regardless of kms on it, and where possible, with an OEM one, and lube it with engine oil. Very good video, welldone.

Excellent video. The fact that you did it on the floor is incredible. Had to replace my clutch but ended up piercing the exhaust system harness against the bell housing causing the oxygen sensor fuses to blow and cause a check engine light. Going to do it on the floor since I no longer have access to a lift

@@Four_Eyes I had coilovers (Eibach), but wasn't a fan of the camber adjustment on the Eibach strut, and don't need that stiff a spring yet. Kept costs lower with a Ford Racing set up with the adjustable dampers. When I get Cup2 tires, I may likely upgrade to a KW suspension. That Tremec needs to go in though. The current tranny is the slowest part of the car!

Jeez this was such a great guide, props for the cleanup before getting down there too! Your car looked as clean as a whistle!
