    I am a complete beginner, currently on week 6 of the Level 1 program combined with the mobility program, which I often do as a warm-up. They are by far the best investment I have ever made training-wise. As someone that is prone to injury and rushing things, it has felt very safe knowing that the people who made it really know what they are doing, which takes all the guess-work out of it. Not being sure about what I should be doing is usually what puts me off training, so I really love that aspect. The emphasis on adapting every excersize to your own level, focusing on correct form and building a great foundation keeps it very balanced. I've never felt like I can't do this, which many other 'beginner' advice has made me feel like since it has been way above my starting level. I'm making really good progress for the short amount of time I've been on the program so far. It is definitely keeping me excited about what I will be able to do in the future if I just keep at it. Highly recommend!

    I have been training push-ups like this for 1,5 years now and I can say that it definitely works. If you are more advanced there are progressions though so you don't have to go something like 20 reps per set. You can cut down the rest periods and you can replace some of the sets with harder push-up variations. Just for an example my current workout has only 30sec rest periods because my recovery is really good because I'm a rock climber. My first 2 sets are 10 reps of push-ups+ each for warmup. Than 10 sets of 8 reps of archer push-ups but only with one side. So 1 rep 8 archers with the left arm. The next set 8 with the right arm. I know you usually alternate every rep but I like it better that way and I'm weird ;-) After that as many sets of 10 reps of regular pushups as I possibly can do even grinding them out at in the last 2 sets. You can personalize this to whatever suits you. There are tons of different pushup-variations to choose from. I would just recommend to always start with 2 sets of somehow normal pushups just for getting warm and into the motions and finish off with any variation that allows you to push you to complete failure. Have fun trying it.

    @@robloxzifah21alt29 Whatever feels good for you. I usually push myself back and put my knees on the floor without moving my feet to come into a kneeling position. You can get back into a pushup position for your next set very easily from there. In between the later more challenging sets it might help to stretch your pecs very slightly in that position because it removes tension and lets new blood into your muscles for better recovery in between sets.

    Why you have a good recovery if you're a rock climber i don't get it

  • @espendennis

    @espendennis

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Fedreal_Bureau_Of_Investigaton Because rock climbing is a lot about recovery. During a climb you try to find resting positions where you can get a lot of your weight onto your feet and are able to take one arm off the wall for a few seconds to recover. Then you do the same with the other arm and continue. Doing that actually trains your muscles' recovery. If you are new to climbing a few seconds will do practically nothing for you. If you are advanced those few seconds will make you complete the climb. Additionally if you are at least a little bit serious about making progress in your climbing you train that recovery with special exercises too.

    Another tip guys this is just my own suggestion, after you learn the incline pushups use the decline pushups after you learned the incline. Just start from your kneew when you're doing it then if you can do it with just your feet at the end of the bench/chair go on. It took me only 3 weeks to do 3 full pushups by just using decline pushups and im still progressing. Just be careful not to injure yourself

    Been doing the 3rd method before watching this video because I told myself “just fucking do it as long as ur doing something it is still an improvement”. The traditional ‘x reps for y sets” has always demotivate me because as soon as I started the 2nd or 3rd set, I’m already at 20% max rep. That’s where the “fuck it, just do it whenever u feel like it” mindset comes in. I try to keep it 5 reps max per day, and as many mins/hours of rest in between sets as I like. Started out at 8 pushups (relatively light, 5’7” and 58kgs). It’s been almost 3 weeks and I can do 20 consecutively rn. We’re all gonna make it brah 🔱💪👹🤳

    It’s weird man, I’ve worked out for years. I’m pretty ripped, I can hold a straddle planche, can do 90° push-ups, can do freestanding handstand push-ups… But my max push-ups has been stuck at around 30 for years. I don’t really train volume often, mostly strength and hypertrophy… But I would’ve thought that would’ve transferred into more reps at a lower resistance. Not the case with me. Doesn’t really matter to me but I feel like I should be able to do way more
