Looking at your iron settings you are right in assuming the lower settings are a lower temperature. Synthetic and silk fabrics must be ironed VERY delicately or they melt/burn while cotton and wool are much more durable and take more heat to manuver. So the wool setting to actually melt the beads is spot on in my opinion! Also this video is really well organized!! I accidentally stumbled across perler art your videos was one of the first to pop up and I feel like it's very beginner friendly considering I know basically nothing about the craft but you explain it well enough for me to consider tinkering.

If you dont want to use an iron, just heat up a heavy cast iron skillet and use the bottom side. Its flat and heavy and does the same job. And when you time it right and get good with it you can just rest the pan after it cools enough to no longer melt the beads on the beads them selves so they don't curl.

@@BigBossRazz Out of curiosity I do have a question~ I saw Perler was selling only the beads but it seemed like there wasn't any pegboards or tools, (I could order them all together but I'm cheap xd) other brands seemed to have kits and served the same purpose, top sellers on Amazon wouldn't be bootlegs right? I'm sure there's others in the community not just using Perler in specific right?

@@coolstuffgaming I would check Perler's Amazon store or Perler's website directly! It doesn't look like there are bundles on their website, but I did find some bundles on their Amazon page. Some products/kits come with a pegboard and a set of tweezers, so you'll have to do some digging around to find something that works for you. There ARE other bead brands, so keep an eye out if you're looking specifically for Perler brand stuff. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey there! Just found your channel. Do you use to put something that helps the final art not to break? Like glue some plastic on or maybe some resin?
@BigBossRazz
Жыл бұрын
Hiya! It depends on the final product. For a coaster (I made a video for that!) I use a cork backing. Otherwise, I flat melt the back to keep it sturdy if I want to display the unironed side. I hope that helps!
Hi, that was a good video. Thanks. I'm wondering do you know how to iron the beads so that there's no holes in them? The mini beads I'm using.
@BigBossRazz
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! That’s a really good question… I myself haven’t used the mini beads just yet, but I imagine it’s a similar concept? I recommend just flat ironing the side you want to be front facing completely and barely iron the other side to keep them together. The mini beads might need to be melted on a slightly lower heat too, but again, I haven’t worked with them myself. I hope that helps! Consider trying a test run to make sure you’re happy with the outcome. Let me know what works for you!

What do you think about non perler brand beads? Does mixing matter?
@BigBossRazz
Жыл бұрын
There are a couple of brands that mix well like Perler and Artkal, but Hama doesn’t blend in as well. I don’t recommend at least mixing the other off brands either, but I also haven’t tried them myself. I’ve always wanted to try Hama since so many European and South American folks use it, but I haven’t had the opportunity yet! I usually recommend folks use what they can find locally for a decent price, since importing beads can be costly!
Can you iron perler beads while they are still on the pegboard? Or do you HAVE to tape it?
@BigBossRazz
Ай бұрын
Can you? Sure! Should you? Probably not. In many folks’ experience, the more the iron on the pegboard itself, the more likely it is that the heat from the iron will warp the pegboard and render it useless eventually. Hope that helps!

How did you get the animation of you talking and your character
@BigBossRazz
Жыл бұрын
Heya! So the animation of the model you see in this video is possible through a few applications. The model itself is a VRoid Model that you can make using a program called VRoid Studio. From there, you can upload that model to a program called VSeeFace that syncs up a camera to match your face movements to your model. This is the simplest and shortest answer I could give ya, but if ya wanna learn more, let me know!
Is sand good as a skin tone?
@BigBossRazz
Жыл бұрын
That’s a really good question, but it ultimately depends on what SHADE of skin tone you’re going for. I think the Perler website has a PDF that has all of their colors for comparison.

@@BigBossRazz I’m planning to do anime pixel art mostly, is it good for that?
@BigBossRazz
Жыл бұрын
@@Ghaidaa I think it depends on the character. Some folks have darker skin tones, and some have lighter skin tones. There’s no one real “perfect color” for skin tones since anime characters are pretty diverse. Were you able to find the color comparison? If not, here it is: perler.com/content/downloads/perler-bead-color-reference-jan2020.pdf
do you know why when i go to amazon to buy perler beads they sell a jar of 22,000 beads for only $21 but a pack of 1000 beads costs $5, and both products are from official perler beads
@BigBossRazz
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that’s a good question. I imagine that it’s a whole “supply VS demand” deal or something like it. They know that people want the organized beads, and it might be more expensive for them to package and ship in the smaller quantities. I STILL have my original jar of 22,000. I might have like 5,000 left, but I have definitely invested a bit into the colors I use more often. I got the 1,000 bags of white, black, one of the blues, and red to name a few. If you think you’ll find organizing relaxing and you have the time or you don’t want to spend comparatively more money for each individual color, check out the jar. If time is an issue and you just want to get started AND you have the money to spare, I really recommend the smaller bags.

are the 22,000 bucket the standard size perler? I tried to find what size they are on the site and was unsuccessful. I went to Joann Fabrics and seen they have individual pack colors but they were bigger than the ones in the bucket.
@BigBossRazz
4 ай бұрын
I think Joann’s has been phasing out their Perler stock in recent years, but maybe that’s just something I’ve personally seen. I think the 22,000 was maybe one of the standard sizes back a few years ago, but I’m not sure if that’s changed. I do know there are different counts now for sure though. The individual packs should still be the standard “midi” size. Were you wondering about mini Perler beads?
