How To Use The Tape Method for Perler Beads

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Heya, Party People! Today, we’re getting sticky.
My name is BigBossRazz and I am a VTuber and variety streamer focusing on arts and crafts like Perler Beads and crocheting.
You can catch me on Twitch where I stream every Wednesday and Saturday.
So, let’s say you have your beads down on your board and you’re ready to start ironing… or are you?
At this point, you can either iron directly on the pegboard or prepare your piece by using the Tape Method.
We’re going to go over what the tape method actually is, why you should consider using it, materials you’ll need, different types of tape to use, whether you need to poke holes or not for it to work, and finally we’ll have a demonstration and see it in action. Thanks for STICKING around!

For those wondering the cons of poking holes: 1. it's tedious and if you get impatient and go to fast, you can mess up your work around the edges and its hard to fix when you have holes in the tape 2. Tape is expensive, and you can re-use painters tape a couple times if you don't poke holes in it

Even though it’s an extra step and it takes more time, it brings me a lot of comfort knowing that I’m not potentially damaging the pegboard(s) if that makes sense. That doesn’t mean it’ll be perfect every time, but it gives me peace of mind. Just make sure to press down when you tape it the first time, and before you turn it over, loosen the ends of tape that might be stuck to the pegboard with your tweezers if you have any. Don't think I'll be doing this, since I mostly do small themed board pieces - I'll just stick my boards under the heavy object while warm as well to avoid bending. There are dozens if not hundreds of brands of boards out there, with different heat tolerances. Just because it happened to you, doesn't mean it doesn't happen to others. Why hate on educational content that encourages the safest option? You can always do whatever your want with your own pieces
