The trick to the rope ladder is to one, practice anddd two: This may sound very odd but going backwards makes it SO much easier. And three, ALWAYS keep both feet and one hand on the bar when moving backwards to climb up. Hope it helps!

Something i learned with the rope climb. After you get about halfway and even a little past. Its easier to finish the last stretch if you allow yourself to flip upside down. If youre not disoriented and strong enough you end up just doing sqinging monkey bars. This obviously may be against the rules for some.

I just go to amusement parks for fun like once a year and try to win as much stuff as possible, ya I could buy them but it’s fun to try and win them. Just don’t go often then your wasting your money! Love your videos! Love looking forward to coming home and watching them❤

I managed to get across the ladder multiple times after studying how others kept failing. Basically, the first time, I purposefully flipped it and then just climbed regularly upside down. After it was concluded I had cheated, I went again and spread myself out. Again, I reached the end but had flipped in the last few rungs and my win was invalidated. So I straddled the ladder and raced the person next to me. I won and it was finally counted.

The last scene is amazing! Great job!

Years ago I was an extra in a commercial playing carnival games. We threw hundreds of rings that day and not a single person landed one on a bottle neck....

I used to work a "Jacobs Ladder" at festivals, I did it first try at a six flags in Denver. The secret is to balance your weight on one foot and the opposite hand, then when you step up to switch at same time to the opposite hand and foot.

I've never tried this but that was more or less my thought. if you reach across the ladder to hold on, that should result in less shifting of weight.

At a Carnival I once saw an old man in a wheelchair at a shooting booth where you shoot with BBs. He somehow had problems to reload and handle the rifle but he had perfect aim. Ten shots and ten hits. Even the booth owner was a bit surprised. And so this guy rolled away with a teddy bear. I imagine him as a retired sniper and he just wasnt used to BB guns.

When you realize that corporations/politicians are blaming mexico and China for cheating Americans by manufacturing these toys when the reality is that it is American corporations cheating the American people with these dirty tricks and shifting the blame to China or Mexico instead... The same thing happened with our opioid crises - with companies like Purdue Pharmacy or McKinsey (US corporations) getting Americans hooked intentionally and then blaming companies that mass manufacture the drug compounds (used for various legal purposes and for legal analgesic purposes) for getting Americans addicted to drugs. We have to be wiser and more intelligent about this. Perhaps critical thinking was never part of the American school curriculum by design.

But Carney's dont get paid by the hour they get paid a percent based on gross they bring in minus what boss charges for stock which is higher. I grew up in Valencia (Santa Clarita) in SoCal during the 80's home of Six Flags Magic Mountain. My parents would drop me off w/ friends and we all had Season Passes every year! They had most of these carnival games back then and my favorite "big loser" was the ladder. As most kids growing up in that town, many of us ended up working there too. Most my friends chose NOT to work in that area of the park.

I live in New Zealand so the largest theme park in country is about the same size as the one Mark went to.

This was an awesome video. Entertaining, Educational, informative, funny.

My wife gives me same reaction on the daily. Every month or so I can make her laugh. Keep smiling my dude.

But they do want people to win. Win at the games they still profit on even if you win first try. They need people to walk around with stuffed animals because they are very visual prizes. It encourages others to try because it's visual evidence that people are winning games.

So refreshing to find a channel that is dedicated, hard working, and well put together. Not just screaming into a lense.

I’m actually good at the ladder, I tried it... these where the “rules” the woman made up while I was winning. 1. You can’t put your knees on the ladder! 2. You can’t go upside down! 3. You can’t have your body on three different parts! 4. You can’t skip any! All these where said at different times during my go... Every time I was winning... she would make up another rule...

She should've let you win. Every winner makes 10 onlookers think they can do it too. And their profit is limited by how many players they can hook each day, apparently nobody told her the prizes were worthless.

I called out a carnie once because the basketball rim was bent inward creating an oval shape making it impossible to actually make. He was pretty angry😂

OG Lundbone lmfao when I was young my sister and I went on the Ferris wheel and could see the basketball rims from the top and they were oval 😂😂now they don’t keep them near each other they must have figured it out

I live close to a beach and pier and there's lots of those games. They used to have the ladder one. It was called 'The Loopy Ladder' the young guy that ran the stall for a few years could walk up and down the ladder no problem. He would do it all the time and people would see him doing it so easily and think they'd be able to do it too. He would offer to help out by holding the ladder steady for people. When the person got about a third of the way up, he would let go, but as he let go he would would ever so slightly jerk the ladder over to one side so the person trying would fall as soon as he let go. My brother used to work on the dodgems next to the 'Loopy Ladder' and he was friends with the dude who ran the stall. My brother was never able to do it though, even though he practised many times.

Awesome! I always knew they could rip you off. You should do a video about claw machines and arcades. Im pretty lucky with those but it would be cool to see.

At the PNE in Vancouver, I won one of the huge prizes at one of their "impossible" games. They had a weighted baseball that flew like a knuckleball, and you had to break plexiglass bottles. I didn't tell them before hand I was a pitcher who threw an amazing knuckleball. Needless to say after I missed my first throw and realized the pattern, things didn't go the way the carnie expected. I still have my 6 foot tall penguin to this day.

Children (especially with loads of outdoor play, like climbing trees) generally have insane amounts of control because they don't think about it, their brain just does it and they might have that experience/stimulation which I am JEALOUS of

I don’t even go for the games and prizes…..I go at night time for the lights, the sounds, the smell, and there’s something nostalgic about being at a fair or carnival with someone you love being with. Can’t beat it. It’s very romantic.
